The conlanging work was beautiful, giving Shaal a very distinct vibe. Also love the androgynous appearance of the Leh-Et. I feel that androgyny isn't used enough in fantasy. Can't wait for more Gold & Bone 💛
The Dreamers are so fascinating! I do have a question though: are there Ornata among them? Could there be in the first place? How would their trance-like states be affected by the magical properties of the gold in their bones? Thank you so much for your work!
Hiya! Being a Dreamer is a vocation one can train in like any other, so they are not mutually exclusive to being an Ornata! However, the amount of Ornata is relatively small, as are the number of trained Dreamers, so there isn't a huge sample size to study. So far, they have not seen any out of the ordinary long-term effects or reactions from the handful of Ornata who have been Dreamers, but obviously that could be dependent on their abilities!
@ Thanks a lot for the quick answer! I think in your other lore videos, you mentioned how Awakened Ornata display a number of often extremely varied magical abilities. Could you give an example to the scope of said abilities?
Good question! Generally speaking no - there are small, singular groups of travellers or villages who identify as being distinct from the Leh-Et, as well as immigrant cultures in Shaal's trade cities. I'd say roughly 80-90% of the population is Leh-Et.
@ I see, though in my opinion that is slightly boring or a bummer, as a multiethnic nation much akin to India or China filled with many many languages and ethnicities is moreso my calendars
Wow, I literally thought 'hmm I wonder where that Gold and Bone youtube channel went' and you uploaded the very same day! edit: you nailed the androgonous look really well. Even before you mentioned it, I thought hmm these men and women look just like each other.
👏I👏want👏a👏freakin👏seven👏book👏series. ....🤔 👏or👏a👏trilogy. Nah. But fr, what is this going to become? What medium will this manifest in so I can obsessively vacuum it up like BrandoSando's Cosmere? Your original Gold and Bone lore intro video had me floored with its elegant simplicity. With one simple elemental anomaly, you had me hooked on the worldbuilding. Aside from that, ConLangs are so fun and fascinating. Dabbled in them a bit myself. I have no doubt that you'd burrow into some interesting ideas.
@WritFinch I love your way of designing fantasy cultures! So would you mind if I Integrated some of your Ideas in my world building-project for my dnd-campaign (like the beshat or the ornata)? Its just for me and my friends ..
Great Video! I have a question though: How do you come up with the names? Do you have a system or a dictionary of some kind or do you just use what comes to your mind?
it is to my shock and disappointment that your video has ai slop auto dubbed audio edit: apparently that's a default setting that youtube shoves down your throat i guess. hope you find it as disgusting as i do and disable it. contrary, thats your channel, you do what you want. happy holidays regardless
@@anartoast Hi anartoast - that was auto-enabled as a default setting without my knowledge! In future, as shown with your edit, it's best to take a moment to double check these things before making public accusations, especially at smaller creators - we're all in this together after all!
@@TheSmolBrit true, i'm sorry. i'm very upset about ai and this several years didnt made my mind every so clear. that being said i had no right into dumping that into you. hope you have a good xmas and new year :)
Hey folks - we're back!
I spotted a typo, huge apologies - it should say "Lef-Leh-Ahn" 2:10 . I'm sorry :')
BABE WAKE UP NEW GOLD & BONE LORE JUST DROPPED
Wuup Wuup, christmas came earlier , wuhuuu
The leh-leh-ahn thing about covering the chest reminded me of the way Minoan woman wore clothing
That was an inspiration yes!
I'm absolutely starved for your quality gold and bone content 😭💗
I love world building

Ikr, conglang is the hardest thing for me when it comes to worldbuilding.
The intro, a cataloger discussing their findings of a fantastical place/thing, reminded me of the channel Thought Potato ❤
TIL i have the pupils of a Dreamer
I misread that as a Dreemurr.... please help
This is such an inspiration for my own world building so I gasped when I saw this
You have such a soothing voice, and the worldbuilding and art is top-tier. Inspires me in my own world and magic systems and it's just jsigjsmhd 💜
Oh gosh thank you so much! I, like most, hate the sound of my own voice, so I'm glad you enjoy it haha!
Literally just thinking about this series yesterday, I’m glad we have a new video!
So stoked for this
Yooo, you're doing amazin stuff, please keep going with all of this. so excited to learn more!
I love those eyes at 9:00!

the bit about decorative scarification is really cool, and the split pupil thing is absolutely fascinating!!
Ooooooh new video, nice! Would you say there are other major ethnic groups of Shaal besides the Leh-Et?

Love these
Excellent worldbuilding
We're so back
Pog new gold and bone
I think it would be very cool if you incorporated a ornata messiah were he was first born with a full golden skeleton like a chosen one 😮
WOOOOO WE'RE BACK!!!
So is there an envisionment of this to become a book or ttrpg in the future?
I just love the world and lore sm and need a handbook for it
Awesome :D moreeeeee

I was wondering how many continents are there in this world. And will there be a Gold and Bone world map?

My friend, its just a translation. I despise ai as much as the next but text to speech is pretty standard, even when translated.
I always laugh at these types of comments. You have no idea what's coming
@@comfehhh the problem is not the translation, is the dub
