  • Don't let dry eye affect your daily life any longer! In our latest video, Dr. Pinkhasov is discussing how to use warm compresses correctly for dry eyes. 🔥They help to unclog and express the oil from these glands to apply to the front surface of the eye. 💧We recommend using an eye mask for dry eyes, one example of the masks we recommend is the Bruder Moist Heat Eye Compress. When using the mask at home it is important to follow the instructions provided by our eye doctor. If you don't have a microwave, there are also various other eye masks you can use such as electrical or gel pads.
Don't forget, it's important to make sure the compress isn't too hot as the skin around the eyelids is very sensitive. And always comply with the treatment schedule provided by our eye doctor as non-compliance can lead to clogged glands again.
If you're finding it hard to comply or not getting the relief you need, talk to an eye doctor.

putting the eye mask for warm compress in the microwave oven for 20-30 secs is not working. I have to preheat in advance upto certain temperature, then put into microwave for about a minute at high temperature. Then only it last for 5-10mins

Moisten the cloth before putting it in a microwave oven for around twenty seconds.
A better solution is to use a clean sock filled about half way with rice.
Place that in a microwave oven for around twenty seconds.
It should be warm... Not hot.
For better results place another sock over the one with rice and change the outer sock every week to avoid any bacteria build up.
You can also lightly spritz the sock with water before putting it in the oven for moist heat.

It would’ve been better if you demonstrated and showed how to, instead of just speaking 🙄
