I just enjoyed the weary voice of experience suggesting Manly has been in these situations enough times to form a tier list of horror villain movement speed.

If both sides of a horror story are playable, that would make for some very cool options for story branching! And honestly, I liked that it started off with a psycho killer being successfully taken down by a potential victim.
And I'm already wondering what happened with Teddy's hideout the year he was dead.
its very slept on conceptually which is funny because its unique and not done nearly as much as the typical cookie cutters.
I know why the eye monster didn't want to eat the clown but used it to find other people. Teddy tasted a little bit funny

Killers in these games are just like "Oh boy! Where did that darn girl go? Perhaps the closet the literal only hiding spot in this room? Hmmm probably not." At least Turtle Head did it to mock the player. Also yes just ignore that light from the flashlight.
I completely agree, it's got great potential. Like you even feel a little bad for Teddy because he's also a victim. He did want to stop but that thing in the basement has a hold on him.

The "play as both the monster and the victim" is a really cool concept that I hope will be used in a big horror game in the future. Also yes Honk Honk indeed

12:50 I agree, running for it would have been be better than trying to get the gun. Sometimes retreat is better than putting your self in danger to fight
Woah, this looks super cool. The sprites looked so great, I loved how Ashley's face changed after finding Tyler's head and how easy it was to see every little detail like that.
Yeah, the character walk cycles and expressions are so gesturitive considering its pixel art, it's very well done!
about as good as ai generated mario at 60 fps, bouncing hat and all

In a classic slasher movie, there is a final girl that survives through sheer cunning and effective usage of their surroundings especially weapons.
“Wow such silky smooth animations! Talk about Eye candy!” Says I, as a clown is bashing some dude’s head into the electric box.
The added "honk honk" killed me harder than the antag killing his victims. As always, love the extra dialogue, puns, and one liners.
Looks pretty epic so far, looking forward to the full release.
Wonder if this game was inspired by that other game Manly played where you played a killer in puzzle levels, then played a detective at the end when he confronted the killer at an abandoned school.

The black and white costume makes me think of the rediculously bloody terrifier.
It had a murderous clown in ablack and white costume.
But the references are clearly Jason-esque especially since tyler looks like the stoner in part 3 who gets electrocuted.

The subtle things that you do during the playthroughs add so much to the characters that are voiced… for example, the mask voice, higher pitched when they’re making a dumb decision and about to die, etc. That’s what made my family and I fall in love with your playthroughs. Stay amazing, Manly.

This is a solid demo! Great sprites, pretty solid atmosphere, and jumping between the killer and victims should make for some interesting segments. I like the obvious horror legend nods, Ashley's address being so close to Wes Craven and the ending invoking Friday the 13th Part 6.

Indeed, even if you have a gun, people with a knife are still very dangerous if you let them get close to you.

I have to say, the art is absolutely amazing. I really enjoy the movement animation. Whoever the artist is, they must have loved doing it. There's a lot of games like this that don't have nearly as much care and consideration put in to stuff like that.
Manly's villain voices are always the best.
I actually got chills when he read the last "I..will...serve." at the end of the clown's meeting with the monster. I know it's just a voice changer effect, but it was so creepy sounding! 😅
@@sunnywhite196 I don't even think he used a voice changer. Pretty sure he just covers his mouth with his hand when voicing masked characters.
@@bakedbeans7879 I just listened to it again, and I believe you're right. I must've been loopy on NyQuil that day or not had enough sleep and got an echoey, demonic effect that I Mandela Effected right afterward. 😆

I love that 80's slasher horror! This really caught my eye (pun intended). I loved the sprite work, the idea of some weird Lovecraftian beast controlling the serial killer. I knew which victim would be first to go lol and I still looked forward to seeing how.. This was a good setup for the rest of the game and I hope we see it on the channel!

Well, glad my first main question was answered almost immediately. "Is he just insane or is it an actual monster?". I honestly kind of prefer it when it's an actual monster. Generally makes the story a bit more... unpredictable. As much as mental health and whatnot is something that needs to be more of a talking point, as far as horror games go, it generally gets fairly repetitive, where-as actual monsters have different designs, different reasons, different logic, different methods, different abilities, different origins.
The 5 minute intro alone gives this game 5 stars and it's only a demo. Can't wait for the full release.

One thing I would change, is Ashley uses a mobile phone instead of the house phone. In a house with no power.
Surprisingly, landlines will still work if your house is out of power. Phone companies can power them through the same copper wire that carries the signal. Still a bad idea in a slasher scenario though because that copper wire can be cut.
