Def Leppard just has this universal feel. It covers all the bases and different generations can feel the honest work they put into their craft. Amazing live. They could play 4 hours of just hit after hit.
The album that this song comes from they released the album in late 1983 early 1984 & it went on to be the #2 album in the world right behind hide Michael Jackson's Thriller & after a 9 month tour promoting the album Rick Allen went to a Chevy dealership & bought a Corvette & had it shipped back to England . On December 31st 1984 they took a break from recording their next album for the holidays & Rick Allen & his girlfriend at the time decided to take a drive in that Corvette . His life would change forever & she would get a few bumps & scrapes because he rolled the Corvette on that day . When Rick Allen was in the hospital the rest of the band had a big decision to make . Do they A: finish the album that they were working on & go back out on tour or B: even though they are the next big thing to Michael Jackson , do they walk away from music until Rick Allen comes back or comes to the rest of the band & tells them to replace him because he couldn't do it anymore . Well they chose B & in August of 1987 they finally finished & released the album that they were working on when Rick Allen had his wreck & Rick Allen finished the album with the band & to this day he's still in the band . The album that they released in August of 1987 is one of the greatest selling albums of all time & it still holds a record today . That album had a total of 7 singles on Billboard's top 100 count down from August of 87 - October of 88 & 6 of those singles were in the top 10 .
One of their most underrated songs. The haunting beat and melody really hit hard.

What I love about the 80's rock is the mixes were HUGE.

The best version of this song is the live one on the Hysteria Deluxe Album.
"Mutt" Lange knows what he's doing (a huge understatement).
