    Take a tour of our 32 square meter extreme minimalist home. Baring in mind that this really equates to just 16sqm each for our possessions. In this walk through home tour Everything We Own is out on full display for all to see. With the exception of our clothing in our under bed drawers. To see everything I own personally, that is not shared, please check out one of my many other extreme minimalism videos covering my personal possessions. Which I believe is at around 70 items now...
    Since moving into this very tiny home we have decluttered many of our belongings for a multitude of reasons. The amount of possessions we owned, albeit already few, felt overwhelming in this smaller space. In this old home that has limited access for storage or furniture solutions, we decided downscaling our inventory of items would be the best solution. Rather than simply attempting to look for better home organisation solutions, hacks and tips. Although we do have some extreme minimalism tiny home tips to offer.
    Furthermore, even though we are both extreme minimalists &/or minimalists, there are sometimes differences of opinions in what we need or want in our extreme minimalist home. Sometimes we compromise for one another. Both taking equal turns for fairness. Throughout this walk through home tour I will discuss some of the main things we have compromised on living an extreme minimalist lifestyle as a couple in a tiny home.
    We chose to live in a tiny home as it is all we need but it also saves us money to do other things we desire, like travel. With the eventual goal to emigrate to an ultra minimal cabin in the woods. So that we can slow down even more as part of our slow living lifestyle. As the noise pollution living in a town really does disturb our peaceful tranquil home at times. Peace, Calm & intentional living is the ultimate reason we choose extreme minimalist living above all else...

    Looks very clean and peaceful. Nothing wrong with having a bed and sofa if you enjoy it. Minimalists can still have furniture, its about making a home that suits your needs, not living up to someone else's expectations.

    I like your home, it's still cosy. The only thing I personaly would adjust is the things that seem crampt into a corner. Like the stand your beauty products are in or the plant in the livingroom. Why not take it away from the wall a bit, it would seem lighter/aerier I would say. Also, why are the drinkingvessels pushed tightly to the left? You have a whole shelf, why not use it?
    Just my thoughts 😊

    • @SagelifeMinimalism
      @SagelifeMinimalism  26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I did explain that the stand has to be in the corner as it’s what we put our electrical items on to charge. They are the only points in the room for charging so it’s for practical reasons. In the living room the plant would be in the way anywhere else. As again our only outlet is in that corner behind the sofa. The plant actually helps hide all the wires that I loathe as we have to have our internet hub in that corner. So all practical reasons because of the age of our property that was built before electricity ⚡️ 😊

      @@SagelifeMinimalism mabey it's because english isn't my mothertongue but I don't get it. Are the cables so short they wouldn't reach the soccet if the stand was like 2 or 3 inches away from the wall? And a plant can still hide that if the pot didn't like pretty much touch the wall? I thought it was more because of your robot hoover 😊 well anyway, it's your lovely home and you do you. It just gouht my eye

    Thanks for the updated tour! As I am currently in the same situation on my decluttering journey I was wondering if you had any success selling the huge pile of things that you had sitting in the bedroom corner where the desk is? Or did you end up donating most of it?
    I seem to be having a hard time with some items and I don't know how long to keep posting them before I just bring them to the charity. Because sometimes an item that I had no hope for any more after a long time does sell all of a sudden. I must add that we do have loads of storage in our home and I can keep the "for sale pile" in a den and don't need to look at it on a daily basis.

    • @SagelifeMinimalism
      @SagelifeMinimalism  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      In the end I split it into 3 piles. The absolute must make some money back on pile - cos I’m not made of money 😂. The Gift to people I know pile that actually want it. The rest to charity. I let it all sit there for about two months in the end. Then thought it’s actually annoying me more than it’s worth. I managed to sell the wooden framed mirror. The circular jute rug. Now I’m just waiting on the table. It seems to be nowadays, or at least in this area - unless you’re giving it away for peanuts 🥜 nobody wants to know. So you may as just give the fussy smaller items to friends or charity. Least your helping them then? And getting it out of your way. A few years ago I gave a £300 pair of boots away as I’d decided to completely give up on heels. Nobody had feet as small as mine? They were barely worn. I think I’d worn them once for 2hours. But I just thought the charity shop can afford to store them and get a decent price for them. Much easier than I can. If anything it gave me satisfaction knowing they could just hang onto them and get a decent price, maybe £100 🤷‍♀️ rather than me just wanting shut of them for £20. Maybe that’s food for thought 😊

    • @WestcoastDiaries
      @WestcoastDiaries หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@SagelifeMinimalism Thank you so much for the detailed insight! And congrats on selling some of the bigger ticket items.
      It can be so frustrating sometimes. One example: I posted a sleeping bag that was practically new. Used it on 2 occasions for a total of 7 nights max. And I take very good care of my things, it really looked like it just came from the store. It sells new for around $100. I posted it for 25. No interest. I dropped the price to 20. Someone finally contacts me asking how much further down I'd go with the price. EXCUSE ME??!! Then I really rather give it to a local animal charity here, at least whatever they make of it helps the animals then. Sigh

    • @SagelifeMinimalism
      @SagelifeMinimalism  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @WestcoastDiaries exactly 😊 🐾 I feel you 😂 I’ve got a funny story… my mum and I once did a car boot sale. Where stuff really goes for nothing. So I feel there’s not much point haggling people 😂. My mum was asking £3 for this beautiful scarf 🧣 and someone was like £1.50 😂 😂 My mum looked at them, took it politely from their hands, wrapped it round her own neck and said Thank You very much But I’d rather keep it or give it away free to somebody more deserving than let you have it 😂 There’s being fair and then there’s greed isn’t there. People perhaps attempting to prey on vulnerable people. My mum was like - out of principle they’re not having it 😂. The next person that saw it was an old lady 👵 she said - you can have that my dear 🙌 😊

      Thank you. They weirdly don’t seem to have a name. But if you google hammock hooks. You’ll discover they have 2 parts. One part that is attached to the wall at each end. Then a large hook that goes through. The bigger the better. As some of the hammock ends are quite large and need to fit through. The hooks I use are about 4 inches. It makes the steel thicker and stronger too. Also use long screws. They’ll take more weight. 😊

      I am in awe of how minimal you are (and so very impressed). I live in a 16 x 24 foot tiny house, but I think yours is a bit smaller.The freedom that you feel must be profound. I am pretty minimal, but I don't think I could be much more than I am. I have guests often and need four of everything, although you gave me the idea to get rid of my large dinner plates. I only use dinner bowls for everything. I also didn't realize that I could use my Dr.Bronners on my hair. That will get rid of a lot of bottles. I love the idea of a robot vacuum and will be passing on my giant hoover to my husband (he has his own tiny house-which I highly recommend). I am currently wrestling with my tiny kitchen and trying to cut back on the appliances on the work surfaces, but the cupboards are full and the shelves inside them cut the space in half so I can't put any devices away in there, they just don't fit! Any thoughts on how I might deal with this?

    • @SagelifeMinimalism
      @SagelifeMinimalism  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I suppose it’s a tough one without physically seeing the space but in a very tight space, I think things are always made easier by cutting back to the bare minimum. I’m not sure if you have seen my home tour from when we first moved into this apartment, about 18 months ago but even as minimalists we had some kitchen stuff (coming from a larger kitchen) prior to this 2sq meter one. I had to fully examine which of my things I regular used and valued the most. As our kitchen looked cluttered when we unpacked. The choice for us was to keep ALL the stuff and be uncomfortable always fighting to get to things. Or get honest about what we used at least on a weekly basis and then get rid of the rest. I had so much coffee stuff on my shelves before. Which in an average home wouldn’t have looked like much. But in this tiny space it did. The choice of course is always your own 🕊️ 😊

      We have not currently decided. Plan to travel and decide. We want a fixer upper cabin in an affordable place to live 😊 🏡 🏔️

    Everything looks great except for the pods on the fridge door. That would drive me crazy.

      😂 I wondered if that would set anyone’s OCD off 😂 (obviously not true ocd but things being misaligned etc) I normally at least have them colour organised but there’s a few too many at the moment. I got given 200 free with the machine 😂 🙄 ☕️

      @@SagelifeMinimalism yes, I have OCD and anything a little off or out of place sets me off. I do love the rest of your apartment though. It is so comfortable looking. I have very little in my apartment except for all the kitty stuff. I live in the first evacuation zone for storms on the Gulf coast in Florida so I have a pet stroller, carriers, leashes, etc for the babies whenever we have to leave. I hate the clutter but it is all contained in my bedroom closet.

    I'm blessed only God knows how much I praise him, getting $70k bi weekly and I’m retired now. I’ve got a good cash and can also support my family😊

    Interesting choice of words about your “partner”. You make choices about people you live with, not love?

    • @SagelifeMinimalism
      @SagelifeMinimalism  หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Yes because I was trying to make it more inclusive for everyone watching. I have many people telling me in the comments sometimes that they believe it’s equally difficult to compromise even if they simply house share. Let alone are in a relationship with other people in the home. So now, I often phrase things to an open audience. Making it beyond myself. I’m simply trying to illustrate why people may have items in their home that they themselves don’t particular want in many different circumstances, not necessarily love, marriage, civil partnership, common law. It could be a lodger, housemate, brother, sister or friend. Hence me also speaking in a way that is phrased ‘we’ and not ‘I’. Which was supposed to imply ‘everyone’ may make compromises in different shared living situations. 👩‍❤️‍👨👬

    You don’t talk like a minimalist. 35 minutes?

    • @SagelifeMinimalism

      I give a lot of detail to save myself time later answering the same questions over & over. People want to usually know all the details. My regular viewers like to be updated on changes in the home and my reasoning behind it. So saying something once on camera, although lengthy, saves me a lot of time later repeating answers to the same question. So it’s actually very efficient and minimalist with my time wastage 🙌 😊 ⏰
