Thank you! We worked really hard to give them some privacy even though they share spaces. We have plans to add some curtains to the younger boys side as well. Another project ‘in the works’ ha ha! ❤️
Wow! 🤯At first glance it looks stark because of the white walls (which I don't prefer in my own home) but your furnishings make it so inviting! Every piece is thoughtfully selected and placed. I know that white walls aren’t for everyone! I personally like them as a neutral backdrop for any of the other items (furnishings, artwork, etc) that we choose to keep. Blessings on your decluttering journey! ❤️
When we moved into our home 3 years ago it had stark white walls. I thought I would hate it as I usually like warm and cozy but I LOOOOVE the white and can't imagine any other color now. If we moved again I would paint my next home white. And it still feels so cozy.
I love how you have made every inch of your house work for you. I think sometimes spaces don't get used because people think it needs to be used for its intended purpose, but often it could be used in a way that would be more functional for the whole family. Lovely home!

Oh wow! 950 is quite small. How large is your family? I think our house is a comfortable size. It’s actually on the smaller side compared to other American houses - which is crazy to me! ❤️

I found your tour fascinating. Your spaces are intentional, functional, and inviting. The two shelves dividing the living room and kitchen remind me so much of shelves my grandparents had between their dining room and living room. That was a nice flashback! 😊

I saw a similar kitchen sink in a 100 year old cabin I toured the other day. It worked still. It gets light use now. People only wash their hands in it.
Our sink is vintage 1920s I believe…so probably close to 100 years old as well. Ours gets a lot of use every single day! ❤️

Yes. Building on a hill it made a lot of sense to have the basement as useable square footage! And yes 3 bedrooms. My husband and I share one, our two daughters share another and our three boys share the final one. ❤️

I love your home it is so warm and inviting, yet so functional and you've done an amazing job at laying out a fantastic design for your family. I love how you brought pieces from the past that mean something special in. I've done that too I have my grandfather's office chair from his car dealership, a sitting chair from my grandmothers sitting room that I adore, my childhood desk and our kitchen table from when I was a little girl. The quilt/blankets on the girls' beds are so pretty. Thank you for the tour, your home is lovely!!!

@@ArrowHillCottage Does it make the space feel too small? My house is only 1,144 sq ft so that's my concern. I'm a minimalist and I know it's not really a minimalist thing but I love the look.
Personally, I don’t think so. In some ways I feel that the black door makes a statement in the space, meaning less art or other objects are needed - which I also love! ❤️

I really enjoyed this tour! I was waiting to hear about the vintage fridge by your husband’s coffee maker. I love how you have used items from grandparents home. We are renovating a loft apartment in our downtown historic 1930 building and I want to keep as much original as I can so you gave me some great ideas, my apartment has the original 1930 farmhouse sink, tub, wood floors and some original wood work. I plan to use a few vintage doors that are stored in our family farm plus do a barn door somewhere, probably our bathroom. Very lovely home you have!

How fantastic to have special sentimental vintage pieces sprinkled throughout too. We also used to have a farmhouse sink. They are wonderful, but a pain to upkeep. I think it’s worth it though. I agree that sometimes it is nice to have furniture that is a bit worn. Nothing stays perfect, that is reality! And your laundry room is great, as is the rest room near the door. Lots of great ideas!

Thank you for the tour. I am a mother of 10. I limited what my children had for several reasons, one of which was that it encouraged them to play together. I like your home. I think for me, the only thing I would have to add would be artwork. I am a minmalist, but cannot do without art on the walls. I find it to be a source of inspiration, joy and, on occasion, solace.
I love art as well! I use a gallery rotation system to display my favorite pieces ❤️
I have tried that, but not been successful. I need a place to store the artwork and it seems my hangars are always the wrong heighth when I make a change. LOL@@ArrowHillCottage
Ha! Have you heard of ‘monkey hooks’ ? They only make a tiny little hole in the wall - which can be easily patched! ❤️

That was very nice. A lot of things reminded me of my own home 😊 ha. Ours is a bit smaller, but we are 5 instead of 7. I also saw the Minnesota cut-out - go Timberwolves! Haha
Ha ha! Yep! My son made that in shop class! We are more football fans- but it’s hard to cheer for the Vikings! ❤️
My bedroom is small like that also. And has 2 little closets and a middle section similar. I think my closets are maybe abt 28 inches wide or so. Not a lot but I also don’t have to share (cats don’t wear clothes at least) lol. I use the middle section to hang just a few things (the tension rod that won’t hold much weight lol) and my 1 or 2 wear all the time house shoes and a small hamper. I put up a little curtain to cover the space. Lol. I have this pretty armoire type of thing (built for an office desk/thing lol). But I like it Bcuz it’s faded turquoise blue. I keep some folded clothes in there as well as a tv (can close it to hide tv or open it to use tv). But the armoire is in another place facing the bed.
Working the program still. Came up with (I think…If I did macros right) a sub recipe and matched up all my calories and macros. (And I thought cooking was hard lol). Not novel but I was proud to get the macros right with food I actually wanted to eat. Lol. (“Turkey noodle veggie soup”). 😅😅 (Bcuz I got a big bogo Turkey breast thing for me and the kitties and had a lot of broth (I boiled it up as I didn’t have the bandwidth to season, baste and bake it lol).
I think goes without saying, it’s a lovely home. Peaceful and airy but yet still cozy. 😁 As well as practical and pretty (well except the man space. Lol. Maybe “pretty” isn’t what a dude would consider a compliment). 😅😅 It’s still really cool tho, of course.
