Explained very well, as a added measure the manual recommends that after filling the engine with antifreeze crank the engine over without starting to ensure water pump etc are all filled. Thanks this was very helpful
You should be looking to see if the oil filter gasket came off on the filter. If it sticks to the block and you just put another filter on the engine, you will end up with a nasty leak and possible engine damage.
So, I noticed you drained block and manifold then filled block and manifolds with antifreeze .... however you did not drain the incoming hose and oil cooler nor did antifreeze make it through that hose. I'm sure there will be issues in spring
Is there any water that gathers in the lower end or is the block and manifolds the only water that needs draining? Also should you let anti freeze go out the drains or can I just recap them once water is drained, then refill with anti freeze?
Shouldn't you change the oil when you dewinterize it rather then when you winterize it? Otherwise the oil has been sitting there all winter. I'm pretty sure for cars they recommend changing the oil every so many months even if you haven't driven that many miles.
Excellent information in this video. I really appreciate the post; however, found the "uh" really annoying and distracting. Other than that, quite a good video.
Good point, Dan Taylor. However, the idea is to compliment the good and point out that which is either incorrect, wrong, or simply in need of improvement. I left out the compliment for the good info (my bad), didn't see/hear anything that was incorrect, and commented on that which needs improvement, thinking that the person who posted the video, and perhaps others, might benefit. Sorry if you were offended; didn't mean to offend. I have edited my comment accordingly.

good job at making sure when you uncover your boat youll find the bilge full of water since you put the plug back in
Not if you store it in a garage.
Excellent and thorough!
great vid,but what if there is still water in the lower drive??,can that cause any damage ?

What year they start putting hose in to drain the oil?
