Exactly 1 year ago Russia began it's "special military operation" in Ukraine. Of course, such a big date as the 1 year anniversary had to be celebrated by the Russian propaganda in one way or the other. And Z propaganda truly outdid itself: with Putin giving a huge address to the country and also a big "patriotic" Z concert in Moscow. Complete with corny sellout artists such as SHAMAN and other creators of Russian propaganda music, as well as patriotic hot takes on history of Russia, the Soviet Union and the world. What was the Russian propaganda concert all about and what is Russia like at 1 year into full-on conflict? Let's talk about it. Smash like and subscribe for more thx xoxo

no they werent borken or sad, they are just kids who feel awkward when adults use them for their own purpose, in this case for propaganda for which these kids have zero support or any emotional connection, they just want to be kids and enjoy life and not come out on stage to embarrass themselves by reciting some bs that they were told to say and act out

  • @Elghast

When those kids came out I wanted to literally die. I can’t imagine what it must be like. The girl was clearly about to break down but it was clear as day that part of her was reciting a script and another part was with actual raw torment of having her entire life devastated by russia and then coming on a stage to be told to celebrate it. Kids and teenagers especially those who survived a war are insanely susceptible.

When I heard the first verses of "Gruppa Krovi" my mind started twisting and screaming. A flip situation of this would be U.S citizens singing a remixed version of "Napalm Sticks to Kids" in support of their soldiers in Afghanistan (also Viktor Tsoi isn't just turning in his grave, he is spinning with a velocity high enough to power an entire house for 5 years)

    • @reggiekrager5411
      @reggiekrager5411 ปีที่แล้ว +17

As if that doesn't already happen in the US lmao. But very convenient of you to pick a lesser known anti-war song like "Napalm Sticks to kids" for your comparison. Why don't you look at the most famous, number 1, all-american anti-war song of all time, the real american Gruppa Krovi: Fortunate Son. Remember that song? Remember how it was originally an anti-war song written by a poor young guy who just got his draft letter, with lyrics talking about what a crock of s***t the Vietnam war draft and the war as a whole was, and how it was just poor kids being sent to die in a rich people's war while the rich warmongering politicians' kids got away from the draft and sat at home and partied? Well, how come that same song is now being used in american war movies glorifying american invasions throughout the world and is being played at every "Support the troops" or US army event. And how did it pretty much become the anthem of modern-day american militarism and neocon invasions and wars throughout the world? It's literally the exact same thing as with Gruppa Krovi in Russian Z probaganda. You can act horrified and shocked at modern day Russian war probaganda all you want but America, especially in the period immediately after 9/11 was more or less the same. All the parade flag-waving patriotism and everyone getting bombarded with the constant "support the troops" and "hero of the day" BS all over the place, especially in sports like the NFL, NBA or WWE, while bands and musicians with very strongly anti-war and anti-Bush views like the Dixie Chicks or RATM got canceled and had their careers seriously affected. You guys really aren't that much better. I'd even go as far as to suppose that Putin and his probaganda apparatus probably took A LOT of inspiration from Bush and post-9/11 America, him and Bush were good friends back in the day after all.

Countries of Europe built EU in order to stop themselves from ruining each other when the cost of war between developed countries became too high. We still can mess around in developing countries when our opponents (for example countries framed by the USA as "terrorist") are less developed but a war between France and Germany would be a disaster. Putin doesn't understand that Russia and Ukraine are both developed countries. They might be behind the rest of Europe but they can both inflict so much damage there will be no real victor in this war

The Russian Rapper with the full camouflage uniform and beret with medals has an interesting patch on his left sleeve. Its a Berkut patch which has origins in Ukraine as it was a Special unit within Ukraines MVD (Ministry of Internal Affairs). They were infamous for the actions of beating protesters and even killing a few during the Maidan revolution which happened in Ukraine from November 2013 - February 2014. After the Unit was disbanded in February 2014, many of the members of Berkut fled to Russia to seek asylum to get away from charges that could be brought against them. Some were caught, charged and sentenced with the more minor offenders being released. Berkut was reestablished as a unit in Russias MVD at first before being transferred to the Russian National Guard in April 2016. The unit is made up of those who escaped from Ukraine and are now basically used as an anti riot unit. Quite interesting to see that particular units patch being worn.

As a Russian, I can share the vibe I get from these songs, i guess they are trying to create something similar to songs sang during WWII. Those were folk songs often written by soldiers to strengthen the spirit on a battlefield and add some humor and positivity to life in those dark cruel days. But the meaning was the opposite. The enemy is the enemy, and the friend is the friend despite their nationalities. As we know, many nationalities took part in those great fight. But these songs are like perverted version of those from the past. Russia has started the conflict between similar brotherly nationalities and now creates songs which separate people even further from each other, people, who once fought together against the foreign invader.
I am ashamed that my country has turned into such a Frankenstein. Took something from Nazi Reich and at the same time parasites on the cultural memory of its own

That's the point- russians aren't trying to resolve their problems. They blame everyone around and think that they are "special nation" (there is no russion nation at all, country is building with big amounts of different nationalities with different religions) and have rights to occupy, rape and kill according their "national interest". As people joke - Biden is the worst russian president. Probably average american have no idea how much damage US made to Russia - small pensions, broken roads, corruption etc.
