Hey guy, here is a video that we took to show you how to remove and replace a radio on Volkswagen Jetta MK6. This should cover the generation from 2010 to 2016. It is not very complicated at all to remove the radio cd player unit.

Stupid Question but are the radio's in a 2014 and 2016 the same size and wiring? Can you switch them out?

I’m hearing that it’s a pretty common issue for this to go out. Mine is out in right now but I’m noticing that the backlights to the radio buttons are also not coming on with the rest of the interior lights when I switch them on. Could anyone tell me whether they noticed theirs doing this? Or is there some deeper electrical problem in my car than the radio just being out. I don’t want to buy a new one and find this out after I’ve dropped the money
so i think ive same deck ,sirus sat radio ,no nav ,,so im putting kenwood DNX996XR head unit ,got the adapter for gps and doesnt work,someone told me gps antennea is a diff frequency,how do i use my antenna? can i change a code?,buy another shark fin antenna?.right now im using the one supplied with deck ,i put ontop of deck when install and works perfect. Hello what eBay account do you suggest to buy from
theyre all the same beleive me ive had mine for almost a year now. Put on a car about 80k has happened to me possibly 2 or three times that the radio actually froze but after you turn the car off lock it and wait 3-5 minutes it will restart itself and work without issues. BYW i didint upgrade firmware on mine since ive read many bad comments about it on internet and just decided to leave it with software it originally had and still works just fine. I got the" 8" Android 6.0 Car Head Unit GPS Sat-Nav RDS WIFI for VW Golf MK5/MK6 " after you get it it is all green but once you get to menu you will have an option of changing colors and headunit looks like if it came with a car. my jetta is 2012 and everyone thinks it cannot possibly be older than 2 years.

well navigation reallllly slows radio down and I never really have need to use so it doesnt bug me. and yes it is a pretty neat navigation system it has capability of searching fr nearest mcDonalds starbucks Gas stations etc on top of that there is an option that will show you any museum nearby or whatever what els mmmm names of building bridges ? well it has everything and if you run it in 3D it will look awesome. Headunit came with everything needed for installation. I had only one problem. I have a fender sound system nd I needed an adapter to turn on my aplifier to run with this radio. after an install well it runs just fine but the sound quality is about 25% compare to my fender sound system just beware of it. I miss the fender sound system so much that i even thought of installing OEM headunit in glove compartment and running the ebay headunit as an aux but thats a huge project and i wouldnt have a hard time deciding if i want steering wheel controls to work with new or the old headunit oh another detail is is you have fender sound system the volume is controlled by the amplifier. With the new ebay headunit all steering wheel controls are controlling the headunit not the amplifier that might be main reason why it doesnt sound as good as the oem one
your not suppose to disconnect the airbag
It looks like he did not actually DC the airbag indicator light. He just unhooked the light from the cover panel but did not interrupt the circuit. If it were a lamp, the cover panel would be like the shade of a lamp and the indicator light is the bulb. This guy just removed the shade of the lamp. Should not cause an issue.
You can disconnect the air bag light. Just make sure that you reconnect it before you turn the ignition or else the airbag light will turn on in the display. At that point, a mechanic will have to go into the software to turn off the warning light.
