    I turned a small lidded acorn box on the lathe. I used Maple and Walnut for this project. If you make one of these I'd really like to see it, you can always share your project on my website.
    Here's a link to some of the tools I used in this video,

    Wax or paint the ends to help keep it from cracking. If your going to make bowls you can rough turn them.
    Take care,

    Another beautiful piece, as always. Thanks for sharing! The only thing I don't get is that most of your boxes are so small. Are they really meant to put tings into and if yes, what is kept in them?
    Keep up the the great work, I'll definitely try some of your projects as soon as my I get my workshop running.

    Mr. Jacobson,
    After you use your sanding mixture of wax paste and linseed oil, what can a person use to make it glossy?
    This is one of my favorite projects you do.

    You always make it look so easy! beautiful work. Just getting started in wood turning. Your channel is very informative and it is of great help. Thank you for your videos.
    I cut some blanks from fallen trees at home home, still green wood I guess, and the ends of the logs start to crack within 24 hrs. I split some in half to avoid this. What can I do to preserve a whole piece? Mineral oil on the ends? Will a green wood project still split and crack after it has been"finished and waxed? Any tips?

    • @CarlJacobson
      @CarlJacobson  7 ปีที่แล้ว

    So you use paste wax, mineral oil while sanding then its finished? Do you use regular sandpaper?

    • @CarlJacobson
      @CarlJacobson  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use mesh sandpaper. I switched to Howard wax and orange oil, and yes it's the finish too.

    You're using maple here. For another project you said you were using sycamore. Is there a difference? I thought that what we Brits call sycamore is your maple.
