I watched Imam Omar Suleiman in an open forum with a Christian and a Jew discussing/debating their respective religions. Although I am a Christian there was no doubt the Imam “won” the debate hands down. He speaks with the strongest sense of confidence, conviction, compassion and empathy. He is an amazing speaker and his knowledge is endless. I could listen to him all day long. @@sandytatham3592 or maybe all I’ve heard, my entire life, is that every Muslim is a barbaric subhuman whose only motive is to sow the seeds of chaos and terror across the globe. It’s called brain washing, many in the west have fallen victim to it. Omar is shedding light on the humanity of Muslim people, people who contribute their kindness, their intelligence, their hard work, not just in America but around the world. The radical Muslim factions are the only ones Americans hear about because there’s a culture war against the peaceful Muslims, which make up the majority of the Muslim population. If non-western Muslims were these villains that you’re implying they are, there would be reports of killings and violence around the world by them 24/7 because they make up 24% of the human population - that’s millions of people.

@@mifflinfinity: Muslims as people are great. They are full of humanity and kindness, and most of them are FAR BETTER than Islam. Most have never read the Qur'an (believed to be the literal word of Allah), Hadiths (the traditions of Muhammed), The Sira (biography of Muhammed), or Tafsirs (explanations). However, there are Muslims who are very devout, who follow all of the fundamentals of the ideology, and who are thus very knowledgeable about the obligations and the aim of Islam, which is to subjugate the whole world to Allah. If they live in places where Islam is in power, they can act on their obligations.
Muslims in the west are, thankfully, not in power and around one quarter of them leave Islam once they investigate the ideology that they've been born into. Islam is primarily a political-legal ideology which encompasses every aspect of life, including that of the lives of Unbelievers (infidels, kaffirs). Why do you think that today there are still many Islamic countries which have the *death penalty* for Muslims who dare to leave Islam?

We have to take care of our mothers in Islam and never expect our spouse, kids or care homes to look after her. She is the one that looks after us when we were at our most vulnerable and we expect to look after her when she is at her most vulnerable. Ultimately our reward is with God.

Also I dont understand your outrage about waiting 3 months before you re-marry. I know we in the west are liberal about anyone being allowed to do anything whenever they want, but lets not pretend that re-marrying within a month after divorce is somehow a sign of a healthy balanced life. Makes me think of men and women who cant be alone with themselves for a whole month so they start a new relationship to keep them too busy to contemplate the miserable state of their mental health. Practically speaking, I think three months would be just the right minimum amount of time to let emotions subside and reorganise yourself before you dive into the next life altering decision.
Those “rules” are there for a reason, and not all of them are punished by eternal hell fire. They serve as advice and guidelines which really make alot more sense then it is given credit for. But we’re too stuck in our hedonistic indulging addictions for us to want to admit that because that’d mean we’d have to work on ourselves. @@safyaniqbal2 I'm open to reading the Quran. I also agree that Christians have taken much of what Christ said out of context. The church warped a lot of things into something more palatable to them and which looks more worldly than what I imagine God is calling us to. However, this is what men do. The Christian church has also done many great things in Christ's name. Ultimately, we are only here for a very brief moment. The only thing I am certain of is that no one has it figured out. I'm sure eternity is much different than we are capable of imagining. He spoke in the video about our natural disposition to worship God. I believe anyone who responds to that in earnest, humble prayer and seeks God will find him. Just because some people call that being a different name doesn't make their prayers go unheard. I would bet that there are people who call themselves Christians and Muslims who have never honestly saught after God. Likewise, I believe there are people on both sides who have sought after God and found him. Or, perhaps God found them. I'm not necessarily a universalist I don't think. I believe Christ did make it clear that he was not only sent by God but was God in the flesh. I think the trinity is just a man-mad symbol thats helps illustrate a very complex idea. We see through a dim glass. I have felt the love of God and I pray I spend the rest of my life seeking to experience it and emulate it more and more.

I must admit, my knowledge of the Muslim faith is very limited. I'm sure it's very biased because my ignorance means that I only understand it through the scope of American media. I, like many others, am often sickened by the rhetoric I hear on the news and strive to see the world through an impartial lens. However, to say that I'm not at all biased would also be foolish. Hopefully, learning for myself will help. Furthermore, I believe that God's truths can not be understood without him revealing them to you. While one should seek the truth and read the scripture, I have seen and felt a distinct difference from when I am learning scriptures by reading them versus when the spirit of God writes a truth in my heart. Have you read something, perhaps for the 100th time and all of the sudden, it leaps off the page and takes on a whole new meaning? It feels similar to an epiphany except you know it was a gift and not an achievement of your own intellect? If you can empathize with this, it has to raise the question, are we praying to the same God? Truely, isn't the name we call God almost always determined by our parents or geography?

As someone who was raised Southern Baptist Christian who went to church and simply called myself a Christian, but has become a PRACTITIONER of a non-denominational Christianity and bringing Christ's love to the world through my actions, not my words, to the extent to which I am capable every day, I'm not perfect, I stand with my Muslim brothers and sisters around the world. I pray for peace in Palestine, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan, and everywhere else that global imperialist powers are regularly persecuting Muslims, peace be upon you. I find that Muslims are some of the absolute most respectful and principled people that walk the face of the earth. Great examples are Malcolm X after his return from Mecca, Muhammad Ali, and a great modern example being Khabib Nurmagomedov. Khabib is as principled of a man that anyone could ever hope to become. He never utters a word truly out malice despite being the creme de la creme of combat sports athletes. He was at the very top of the combat world, completely undefeated in his career, and stepped away to take care of his mother, to help his brothers and cousins achieve their own dreams, and once he proved himself to be as amazing of a coach as he was an athlete, he could've had all the money in the world, but stepped away to spend time with his family. Anyone that doesn't understand the type of man that comes from Islam should immerse themselves in the world of Mixed Martial Arts and learn about the men that come from Dagestan. It is absolutely humbling to see. Learning just how similar Islam and Christianity are, despite some major differences, just absolutely woke me up about the beauty of my Muslim brothers and sisters and their love and respect for other people. If you don't know much about Islam, go elsewhere on TH-cam and watch a video about the similarities between Islam and your own religion. Islam and Christianity, in my own opinion, are closer than Judaism, despite the regular misinformation that is pushed by Christian preachers with their own closed minded agendas regarding Israel and the return of Christ. The idea that any Christian will make it into heaven while actively trying to force the return of Christ through supporting violence against Palestinians by Israel is absolutely insane and against the teachings of Christ at every level. Imagine standing in front of God at your judgement and saying "I wanted to support the destruction of Palestine to unite Israel so You could return on the timeline of me and other 'Christians', rather than Your own timeline, my Lord".

Thank you ❤️ This verse from the Quran comes to my mind when God says “Obelievers! Stand firm for justice as witnesses for Allah even if it is against yourselves, your parents, or close relatives. Be they rich or poor, Allah is best to ensure their interests. So do not let your desires cause you to deviate ˹from justice˺. If you distort the testimony or refuse to give it, then ˹know that˺ Allah is certainly All-Aware of what you do.”
This clearly means always stand for the oppressed no matter they’re religion, for all of Gods creation. Do not do injustice to anyone or we will have to answer to him on the day of judgement! This baffles me when Christian’s can support ethnic cleansing of Palestinian ✝️ and Muslims ☪️ just because of Jesus’s 2nd coming. Do not join evil even if your family or community is taking part in it! God is just and God is for all he’s creation.
