You know I prefer older boats and this one's a beauty!! So well maintained, and definitely a candidate for full time liveaboard!! Thanks for the Tour, Greig!! ✌️🏳️🌈✌️
This was the first time I was on one of this size. I normally think of them as 60+ as well. They shared a lot of the same design features, and would be perfect for a couple doing the Loop.
Awesome tour like always 👍 and by far one of the most beautiful vessels I have seen in the past few months. Well maintained and a beauty 👌. Thank you for this very informative video and merry Christmas + a happy new year.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I loved the woodwork too. Very little on the outside for ease of maintenance, but when I slid the glass door open on the aft cockpit and stepped inside, she felt like a baby Fleming for a fraction of the price 😎
I wish more videos would talk about the loop like you do. Whether or not the arch or radar post is hinged. Air height . Makes the boat more sellable in my opinion, but I guess if you look at enough of them you'd know. Always enjoy your videos. Thanks
Thanks, John. I appreciate the kind words. A lot of my followers either plan on doing the loop or dream of it. For some boats like the Sabre I just posted, it's obvious they can do it, but for bigger boats like this, it's normally more questionable. When I get on the bigger options, I try to find out if they can or not because, as you say, it makes them more sellable and expands the buyer market if they can 😎
Thanks! I upgraded to the GoPro Volta which helps, but the bigger improvement was a new PC for editing. It let's me edit and publish at much higher quality and people are noticing the difference 😎
Lots of boat for the money I would have been interested a year and a half ago when I was shopping but quite happy with my Carver 406 with low hour Cummins
@@GarnockReviews I love it and its a bit smaller for solo and had brand new garmin goodies and was well under 200k and always freshwater. Wanted a trawler but too good to pass up. Keep the good content going love your channel
I couldn't believe a 42ft boat had both a washing machine and a fridge in the engine room!! It's got to be around 5ft headroom down there if not more. I need Santa to step it up this year 🎅 😆
That one would be about perfect for doing the loop, especially if that 15' height is accurate. You wouldn't NEED to do the Trent-Severn or Welland canals if for some reason you wanted to stay in the USA.
My channel was selected by TH-cam for a new feature that converts the audio to different languages. I'm glad it has helped make this enjoyable to you 😊
@@GarnockReviews I prefer a forward or vertical rake on the windshield. The "Aerodynamic" windshield brings a lot of sun and glare into the pilot house, in my opinion only, reduces the usable space.
I'd love to live on this as my home if I could. There is a marina near me that has laundry, swimming pool, hot tub, grilling stations, and so much more......then add the comfort and privacy of this yacht, what more could you ask for!
This one is in Jacksonville, Florida on the Ortega River. Here's the Yachtworld listing with the listing agents contact info too www.yachtworld.com/yacht/1999-hampton-490-9626753/
I would recommend reaching out to Barbara, the listing agent. My understanding is that it is under contract but not 100% sold. Off to sea trial and survey after the holidays. Might be worth registering your interest though so that if the deal falls through for whatever reason, she can follow up with you 😉
Merry Christmas...Thanks!
Thank you! It's little gifts like this that help smaller channels keep going. Merry Christmas 🎅

Thought this one might grab your attention 😆 I love that although it's 25 years old, it would still turn heads anywhere she goes.
hampton makes a fine boat. ive never seen one less than 60 feet. thanks for showing this one.

@@GarnockReviews left my subscription. You deserved it. Keep up the good work 👍💪
What a gorgeous boat! The woodwork is stunning and is timeless. This would make a great live-aboard l. Thanks for sharing 😊

That boat is spotless!
It's hard to believe she's 25 years old!! Well designed, well-built, and well maintained 🤠

I have been on the Hampton 49. Very nice.
I'm curious how many of them were made. Great boat for the size and money 😎
Very well presented boat. There's a lot of fun to be had here at a very reasonable price ...
One of the best value for money options I've seen in a long time 😎
@@GarnockReviews What's she need? Seems like a value too, but she's 25 yo......
Please!!! what a beauty
Surprising, very nice vessel and nice tour. Did you upgrade cameras or gimbal or something? Great value too

@@GarnockReviews Awesome, Yes I noticed the quality immediately. Nice upgrade for your tours. Well done mate, Cheers!
The lighting during filming was good too. I like the pace of the video.
Thank you 😊
What an amazing boat
I agree 👍 Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment
A stunning example, good value.
Couldn't agree more! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
Great boat for the money. Would be interesting to know the last 5 years maintenance costs. Ty
Impressive, Garnock. Please say hello to Barbara for me, if you run into her.
I agree, and will do 😎
Beauty !!!!!
I agree 👍 Thanks for watching
Really nice boat, i can me and wife living in 🎉
She would make a great liveaboard, whether you like long-term cruising or as a houseboat 😎

I agree! I can't fault you for the Carver. I've been on several now, and they are great liveaboard cruisers.

Thank you! Next up should be a nice Sabre 42 with under 1000 hours on the clock 😎
@@GarnockReviews cant wait to see it had an aft cabin one on my list but the engines seemed dicey history wise. Sabres are gorgeous

It’s a great choice for the Great Loop, the size and draft make it perfect 👍
I come for your awesome accent
Hey gracias por el audio en español ❤
My channel was selected by TH-cam for a new feature that converts the audio to different languages. I'm glad it has helped make this enjoyable to you 😊
No dishwasher, no trash compactor, no digital controls, no deal.
Clean boat though.
Thanks
I really like this boat, but where can I find it? Is there a link?
Here's the Yachtworld listing if it helps...

thank you very much
What does his marina charge or live aboard slip electric nternet water sewer.
Thank you
AJ
Nam of marina
It's currently at Lamb Yacht Center. Here's a link to their website and charging fees etc

Not a bad offer, hour on engines and generator 🎉?
Engines are just under 3500, generator is just under 1500
I love everything except the pilot house windshield.
Just curious, what do you not like about it, or what would you change about it 🤔
@@GarnockReviews I prefer a forward or vertical rake on the windshield. The "Aerodynamic" windshield brings a lot of sun and glare into the pilot house, in my opinion only, reduces the usable space.
I wouldn't need or want a house if I had this.

@@GarnockReviews Very diffcult to find liveaboard berths here in Canada though. With our winters it's neither popular nor available. :(
I've dreamed more about living on a boat in Florida than in Scotland for the same reasons 😆🥶🤦♂️

I had a gulfstar around that size for 90k
I've seen a few listings for Gulfstar, but I've never actually been on one before. Would be interesting to get onboard to compare the 2
That is waaaaaaaaaay too much wood. What were people thinking in the 90s?!
cwood cost too much natace cost
