    You will have to forgive me, I blended Lokhust destroyer with Heavy Lokhust destroyers' profiles while i was going through the damage profile of the lokhust lord leading the enmitic squad. My apologies, they would be crit-ing on 5's but it would only be sustained NOT lethal, or vice versa if he was leading normal Lokhust destroyer's.

    Another thing to watch out for is that Hypercrypt is almost always going to deploy very VERY cagey which gives you zero information for your deployment because all their units will be inside terrain where they can't be shot and the monolith will just hang back and wait to deepstrike. They're an army that really wants to go second so they can use cosmic precision turn 1 which gives an even better match up for melee pressure armies.
    Now from my experience it isn't the melee part of the armies that are the problem it is the SPEED. If you are world eaters or orks you really don't care about where they're going to deepstrike to because you're going to be able to reach them anywhere on the table. When angron is moving 22" with advance and charge there's really no where to hide. Speed kills the necrons because you will be all over them and they can't stop the insane preasure.
    I'm a necrons competitive player and I've won almost all my games EXCEPT against world eaters and orks, they absoutely hard counter my list at least LOL.
    Great video as always sir, my only disagreement is that ctan really aren't THAT tanky against focused attacks, with mortal wounds and a squad of nobz you can kill a ctan no problem.

    Overall great video. One thing to note is that this is focusing mostly on the Hypercrypt Legion detachment. People are also running the Canoptek Court detachment. Hypercrypt, agreed, just screen out the reserves and you should be fine. Canoptek, play the game, control No Man's Land (and your deployment objective) and you should be fine. Necrons overall, agreed, expensive so if they're your only worry, bring lots of minimum sized units. Lots of Necron guns are great, but not too great if there's too many targets on the table.

Beastie boys + beastboss killed the nightbringer with unbridled carnage (40 attacks hitting on 2s with re-roll, fishing for exploding 5s for 60 average hits plus same on beastboss for 10 average dev/ anti monster 4+ hits). • @TheRealItschowda
    @TheRealItschowda 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I don't think melta weapons will bypass the Necrodermis ability of C'tan shards. Your logic is sound; set, divide/multiply, add/subtract. The problem is how the melta rule is worded:
    Melta (Core Rules):
    Weapons with [MELTA X] in their profile are known as Melta weapons. Each time an attack made with such a weapon targets a unit within half that weapon's range, that attack's Damage characteristic is increased by the amount denoted by 'x'
    (GW provided) Example: A model targets a unit that is within half range of a weapon with a Damager characteristic of D6 and the [MELTA 2] ability. If that attack inflicts damage on the target, it inflicts D6+2 damage.
    Necrodermis (Codex: Necrons):
    Each time an attack is allocated to this model, half the Damage characteristic of that attack.
    Damage Characteristic (Rules Commentary):
    Where a Damage characteristic includes an operator (e.g. a '+', as in D6+1), the value after the operator is part of that Damage characteristic - it is not a modifier
    IF the +2 from Melta 2 were a modifier rather than being part of the damage, you would be correct; Ex: D6 rolls a 6. Necrodermis halves the 6, then you add the 2, dealing 5 damage. However, since it is considered part of the characteristic, the same example above makes the attack do 6+2=8 then Necrodermis halves it to 4

    • @JS-vu8po
      @JS-vu8po 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Melta weapon extra damage due to being within half range WILL bypass half damage reduction. From the rules commentary:
      "3. You must then apply division modifiers before applying multiplication modifiers, before applying addition and then subtraction modifiers. "
      Both the C'tan ability and Melta are modifiers.

    • @Happykrumpingwargaming007

      The +2 is a modifier :).

    • @TheRealItschowda
      @TheRealItschowda 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JS-vu8po did you read my entire comment? The rules commentary also addresses Damage Characteristic. Melta is not considered a modifier since it converts the damage characteristic from D into D+X where D is the original damage and X is the Melta ability

    • @Happykrumpingwargaming007
      @Happykrumpingwargaming007  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are just mistaken on this bud. Melta (2) is an additive modifier to the damage which is D6. The 2 is added as a modifier to the original D6 damage. You are not interpreting correctly. Feel free to hop in the discord to discuss further!

    • @TheRealItschowda
      @TheRealItschowda 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Happykrumpingwargaming007 which is why I included both the Rules Commentary listing regarding Damage Characteristic and the Melta keyword. The example provided in the Melta keyword implies that it becomes part of the damage characteristic and is therefore NOT a modifier since it has a '+' operator.
      I'd like to join the discord but I doubt we'd come to an agreement. It's another one of those times that GW needs to clarify on their own bad rules writing. That or a high enough profile tournament encounters the issue to where it gets the attention from GW.

They CAN be shot back after moving into the ruins but they'll have the benefit of cover from the terrain piece. They would have to move behind the ruins in order to prevent return fire; i.e. you CANNOT shoot through ruins even if you can draw line of sight through windows, doors, etc.
