I'm so excited that Don choose Home Free to record Bye, Bye American Pie with for the 50th Anniversary of the song. He could have chosen anyone but he chose Home Free. So happy for you guys. 😄😍❤
I've discovered Home Free about a week ago; I've been down a rabbit hole in here ever since and ordered three CDs. 'Timeless' was the first to arrive and I want to give a shoutout to Darren. This was the best produced and balanced album I've heard in years and my stereo is very unforgiving, it has put me off many an album I used to love because you hear all the flaws.
No flaws here 👍🏼.
I found them on here right before they went on the Sing Off 2014 I think was the year and i have loved them since.

@@GreatLakesLogger Both Tim and Darren have insane ranges. Having both of them in the same room is actually pretty freaking amazing. There are many classic Blenders songs that I've always loved that I found out years later that Darren sang the lead on, and I was blown away.

The one one who sang ‘the year the handshake died’ right at the very end hit the nail on the head! He could write an entire song about hugs, haircuts, businesses, schools and everything else that was disrupted. Just has made many of those in a high risk category self isolate.

Wow this is crazy guys. I was listening and singing this whenever it played of the radio when I was a teenager and now that I'm 70 it still brings back them old memories and it is still one of my all time favorite songs! I just know you guys will will do it justice!! God Bless!!!

I can hardly wait to hear this. When I was in high school, my best friend and I would sing this song (yes, we knew all the words!) on the school bus on the way home each day. Neither of us could sing so everyone else kept trying to make us shut up! Good memories with this song....

There are many webpages and complete sites devoted to that one song. Thesis people have written on the song and its meaning, and why he says this or that, etc, etc, etc. At this point, to me, the song is still as beautiful and mysterious as it's always been. What was that comment, hmmm, "It's not as important to be able to see through the game, as it is to be able to play the game". I'm sure Mr. McLean can see the song differently from when it was first written when compared to now. Adding nuances and clarifying a thought here, a feeling there as the years go by. And why not, its His song, his effort, his expression. I prefer not to find the last hidden meaning in American Pie, but I do love that it may be different, and with the help of Home Free, quite a new impression will be made. "I'm here to entertain people", and that he will do, I'm sure. Home Free has become such an important part of my musical enjoyment I can only imagine what this collaboration will bring.

I remember when this came out, I was a very young Marine expecting orders to Vietnam. Oh so long ago now.
I was in high school when his came out. I remember calling the radio station on different occasions while it was playing and nobody picked up. I began to speculate that the deejay put the song on when he had to go to the bathroom

WOW! Just wow! Home Free just added so much to an already beautiful song. I think the new release just might blow up the charts again. If the current "powers that be" dont see the relevance to modern times and the power this song could carry right now, they are in the wrong industry, for sure. This may be a cover/marriage with the original artist, but it hit me in the feels, totally and 'fer sure'. I loved it!

I went to Nashville after the tornadoes when the flu bug was really bad and the housing market was bad. Now I am learning how to build them and I am learning how to be a music therapist because I was asked to by the Church. I was asked to also think about dating and marriage. And studying theology. Pretty cool! I really like this song! It was one of my Momma's favorites!
