it’s really sad how melon client died. i was so hyped, so excited. they really fcked up. from my perspective, it was very promising. it reminds me of the french Minecraft server called “OneCube” that closed because of a dev who was paid 60 000 dollars per year to do his job, before the server released. on the release date, since the owner of the server is a french content creator and knows ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about servers, they realized just at this moment that the server was unfinished. it’s been 2 weeks now that this server died. it really had potential.
I was actually a mod for Melon Client for a good bit. Honestly, it was pretty clear that it wouldn’t make it off the ground well before it was canceled. From what I remember, there was a *lot* of infighting among the owners of the client, and the original framework for the client was commissioned from a single developer well over a year before it died, and in that time not much was built on top of it. As there were also a lot of issues regarding the payment of developers, and honestly the payment structure was really shady and came across almost as a pyramid scheme of sorts. Really glad I decided against trying to join the dev team. Edit: so uh, after looking back into it. All of what I said earlier applies to the *original* client, I have no idea what happened after it was picked up by the new dev team.
Solar Tweaks was really useful for free cosmetics and mostly the "raw mouse input' option that litterally enhance the pvp, and what lunar devs don't seems to dev

Here are a few inconsistancies that I can point out. 1. For Melon Client: making a jar file does not make the source code "public" because obfuscation is what protects from that. Lunar client has many jars in the C:\Users\Username\.lunarclient\offline\multiver (or ~/.lunarclient/offline/multiver if on linux) folder. Obfuscation randomizes the code to make it hard to decompile. It usually makes it into different unicode characters if you were to open it raw in notepad with almost no raw code. It was most likely an obfuscated jar that was deobfuscated and remapped. 2. Lunar Client's source code was never released. During most of it's life, solar tweaks was a java agent, which intercepts and changes code at runtime on the JVM. However, Decencies, who helped deobfuscate and remap Melon client, also has a Github repository for a partial copy of Lunar Client. github.com/Decencies/LunarClient github.com/Decencies/LunarRemapper github.com/ClientPlayground/Melon-Client
I remember the rbw client, it was actually called "op" client and was made by the old rbw server owner Cef as u said in the vid. It was mainly a way for cef to keep his discord server alive at the time as he had become a corrupt owner and members of the community had began to create a new rbw server, mainly pezzy. I do remember when one day randomly everything related to rbw was deleted without any announcement leaving many people confused. That server had around 54k members at the time

hey there! i was actually a former mod of melon client, and a friend of elon. to be honest, the management was not great. the staff chat was quite chaotic at times, and people leaking it was even worse and lead to the source code being leaked somehow. people were misadvertising melon, injecting viruses into it and "releasing it" to the public. funny story: i had the real, non-virus, full feature melon client before it released! i was in a public melon client discord vc one day with some random people, and i was playing hypixel bw solo. elon was muted (i think he was on his phone) and he dm'd me saying "Screenshare this I wanna see how it looks" and sent me the melon client jar, and everyone was freaking out because it was insanely special to have melon at that time (he only gave it to close friends and high staff) (also i played on elons private smp, was in one of his videos, modded his youtube chat, and was in his vc alone w him when the original melon client discord hit 5k members) honestly, the client had great potential. if elon didn't let the fame get to him after 1k and relied on volunteer discord staff and Kaimson to do everything for him, it would have been great. a lot of ppl were looking forward to it and i was too. the management wasn't great, and if it was, it would've been crazy (since many were comparing it to lunar) it's also not gonna be great when you have a client with like 1m youtube views and over 10k discord members with 1 dev that is being paid like $50 on fiverr (kaimson) but yeah, melon was cool, and there's some inside story! great video flxme! byebye, have a good day :)
btw Kaimson seems to like developing for Feather now I talk to him a bit and I haven't heard any complaints and has started working on some side projects which he uploads to Modrinth as long as continuing to develop mods and such for us at Feather
Cef actually contacted me to work on Ranked Bedwars Client, but we were never able to agree on a reasonable price, but he did show me and my designer what they had at that point (which wasn't much realistically speaking). He was quite ignorant as my designer (who worked on pretty much all of my projects, including the Melon Client UI) gave him a lot of feedback with good argumentation and he just said "No, I made a poll and our players decided against this", but of course when we asked him to show us the poll he couldn't, presumably because it never existed. Salzar, the second owner contacted me after Cef left aswell and promised to work with me on reasonable pay but that went nowhere aswell. Currently I'm happily working for Feather Client with amazing people, including the owner who actually listens to the community and more specifically communicates properly with all of his devs.
When the ownership got transferred to Noah, I won a giveaway to become a Beta Tester, I still remember when they said they were going to release it in a week and then it turned into a month and then never. they even announced that they wanted to turn melon client into a brand, so they started to work on a server and they showed screenshots of like 3D stuff. Wish I took some screenshots of it all.
Ranked bedwars client and cef has nothing to do with the new server or community. He quit the client because we made a new server snd he no longer had his playerbase. I’m glad it was never a thing because I believe cef would’ve used it as a rat or account stealer at some point.
You got the story right 👍 Just for your information Lunar Client's source code isn't public and Solar Tweaks wasn't a real client, more like a mod to the modpack 🙃
I'm actually extremely upset about Solar Tweaks. Because of this I'm switching to Forge from Lunar as Lunar is too restrictive (a client should not disable features because a server owner wanted so in my opinion)
5:23 some ways actually work and you can still play on solar + if lunar wanted to delete solar tweaks maybe they are adding cracked support (hopefully)
Flxme you're wrong about the cosmetics part because that was removed by the devs long ago after specially wasn't an owner anymore or something and it was another group of people who made something called Solar socket which is completely different from the original dev team. Solar also didn't have any "questionable" mods (it was just some tweaks and lunar added some of them into the base client cus they were good tweaks). Lunar shouldn't have sued the original client as they made no money from it and also didn't provide free cosmetics.
I think Lunar holds a solid position in #1 client for me. They offer such a user friendly experience, the GUI is just so clean, even the launcher is an ease to find your way through. Badlions launcher I find much more... Intimidating. I feel BLC launcher I cant navigate through it, nor the in game GUI editor. I had to search on YT where the button was to enter GUI editor (I might just be blind...).

I did Quit MC after the migration, because I couldnt access my acc anymore I didnt watch any MC youtubers anymore, this is the 1st MC video I watched in a long time and I love it

He was my top 1 fav youtuber but now he just switched to texture packs and thats it. Just giving some ideas, hope I helped

Salazar was never a real owner of rbw cef just used him as a puppet for the rebrand (op client). I was an owner of the and I actually still own all the code for the client but I’ve never really looked into it.
