Music is about feeling, and Jim had it galore!!! That's the reason why I begged the folks at artistshare to produce 1000 items instead of the first 100 package of his Live Vol.2-4! Imho gems like this one must be heard all over the world...
A lot of guys will play a ton of notes when playing uptempo. Jim Hall does just the opposite. It's a very unique approach and certainly one that is uniquely Jim Hall.
I’m curious: is that something you read, or do you know people who have that opinion? I ask because in the quarter century I’ve been playing and listening to this music, I’ve neither heard nor heard of that assertion. Not doubting you, but merely curious.
@@smokemeister Neither have I. I have heard some comment that he might be a little bit introspective or 'studied' - if that's a word - but never heard it said that he couldn't swing.
I don't understand...19 people didn't like this ? C'mon folks, this is the ART of JAZZ music.
Jim is the best forever.Too good.
Jim always plays Jim himself. Jim is in the every note and each line. That's why we are a ttracted.
The strange way, very original, of playing of the great genius Jim Hall❤
The master of the undertatement.
The guitar equivalent of Count Basie.
This is not a compliment at all. Bird, Pass and Bud are great jazzmen.

Cool ! Like all Jim Hall style.
Brilliant 'Boyne...', simply brilliant
Voilà pourquoi MR JIM HALL a influencé beaucoup de guitaristes actuels et non des moindres .......MERCI JIM !!!!!!!!
Don Thompson ❤❤🐟
...on bass, and another great Canadian musician, Terry Clarke on drums.
He swung hard! Went outside the boxes of predictable lines!
Jim Hall, the Count Basie of the jazz guitar. He doesn't play a lot of notes .The choices are made with taste. In this mode , he is like Miles Davis.

Nice city photos too!
don is my favarito
Excelente.
Good one to play for know-nothings who say Jim Hall 'Can't swing'.
Perfecto !
Que moderno suena siempre Jim Hall!
My mind Booommm
This is probably the only picture of Jim Hall with a beard floating around

Jim Hall, guitar; Terry Clarke, drums; Don Thompson, bass. Live in Tokyo, 1976.
Some of my favorite Jim Hall! Although there are many, many more!

Great comparing this to George Benson’s classic recording of the same tune. Both are very cool.
