Yep, just MORE unfounded hate (uncontrollable crying and screaming) for Sega coming from all the Nintendo fanboys... 🙄 Just simply because the Genny is the 'PREFERRED' tried-and-true 16-bit platform to develop homebrews and ports on, and also because it's getting a few more extra new games added to its ever-growing library!
Any FM sound chip it's tricky to manipulate. Japanese composers and programmers had a way much bettter understanding of how those work because almost all arcades and PCs from the time used FM, that's why the Genesis have an FM sound chip as well.
No one is better for this work than Vector, he does amazing works replicating very faithfully music from other games on FM for the MD. Check his channel, great stuff.

Best Civ version around, along with Savaged Regime ones...also, Vector Final Fight themes version are fantastic, better than the ones done by Edmo (still very good) in Final Fight MD.
I've always said this but the Sega Genesis got a bad rap because developers were largely confused by FM synthesis and ended up resorted to a generic palette of crummy instruments. Modern homebrew is really showing how much the myth of the Sega Genesis having bad audio capabilities is completely false. I mean, we already knew this with the Streets of Rage series but I a lot of people still buried their heads in the sand. Stuff like this gives me the chills. Sounds so great. In all honestly, and keep in mind I love Genesis AND SNES so much, I actually like this version of the music more than the SNES version. Something I'd be curious to know is how much ROM space the music takes. I do hear quite a bit of sampled audio fuzz but how much space the music takes up would certainly give us an idea of how feasible this would be back in the day. Totally doesn't diminish how awesome this is.
Thanks for your comment, friend! In reality, the samples used are minimal, and are only present in Simon's song. The white noise you hear is due to the quality of the recording from the emulator, but believe me, the ROM has a very clean sound. The current size of the ROM running in the video is a little over 1000KB.

I guess I could make a FM whip FX with better sound. But we must have to find the way to put it on the rom, to sound correctly without affect the music.
DarkStalkers is on Pause. And this is why; SGDK is limited to 4 MB. In order to go past 4 MB, once has to use mappers. I'm unfamiliar with mappers but I contacted several people on how to implement them. I did everything advised to me but it still didn't work. All the assets for DarkStalkers have been finished for a long time. I just can't upload them as SGDK stops me at 4 MB. Until SGDK is updated to include Mappers or I figure it out, I"m stumped.

I've gotten attacked by Nintendo fanboys. It's not better yet. It's running in a higher resolution. So, it should look sharper. In the end, I hope it's better. Mostly, I think they're offended that I'm even trying.

God the Genesis sound chip is so good for this game.
unfortunately not for batman star wars
The Genesis sound chip could produce some real bangers but it was tricky to program from what I understand
