This video was both extremely helpful and incredibly frustrating. Helpful because it taught the proper way to apply the grout release, and my project is now going much, much smoother. Frustrating because it's literally the complete opposite of what the instructions say on the bottle! The bottle says "Apply a liberal coat using a *heavy-textured paint roller*." Contrast to this video - "Always use a very short nap roller, it's extremely important that you don't leave too much material on top of the tile." So thanks for this video, but please have a word with whomever writes the instructions sheets.
I came here genuinely hoping for a few tips because I'm a DIYer and I'm having trouble working with this grout. This is Home Shopping Network program levels of helpful. 6:52 Your directions say to lightly dampen the tile surface before starting. So if that's not accurate, change it on the tub. 8:00 "Sure let's clean it". Listen. I set a timer for 4 minutes. Applied grout to a very small section. AS SOON as that timer went off I started cleaning, and spent the next 20 minutes trying to remove grout from the surface before it hardened. If you're very experienced with grout like our guy here go for it. But I don't think I'll be using this again. It seems like the pro tip is to hire your own Marty.
I went by the instructions on the bucket, grout dry really fast. I cleaned and cleaned . I use 5 buckets of cleaning water on a 5x8 wall and 2 hours work and it still left a haze on my tile. Going to use the tile release and see if it works any better if not I’m taking it back to Home Depot where i bought it.
This was great for a small tiling project on mosaic tile. Just pop the lid and go. Made it quick and easy. Not happy about the 7 day curing time, but I am sure it will be nice not having to seal it every 6 months like conventional grout.
Would you recommend using thiis product outdoor in cold weather and if so, send tips. Working on major outdoor project already did tile work n now reafy for grout. n need tips. Thx.
Would have been much more helpful if the host would have shut up for a few minutes and let the pros finish the application process instead of stopping them part way through.
I am wondering what to do with the dirty water? Pouring it down the drain could risk having the “sludge” build up and block pipes. Using storm sewers is against the law. It should be considered toxic waste, shouldn’t it? Please advise. Thank you.
I have been using all grouts for years. I like fusion pro for outdoor grouting but it's a lie to say that it's easier or faster than cement grout. I find that the cleanup is just as difficult and time consuming as epoxy grout. The problem I have these days is that about 20% of the fusion pro that I buy is already starting to harden in the bucket and I end up exchanging it. The other problem with fusion pro is it's price. It's very expensive. The best things about fusion pro is the color consistency, and how well it holds up outdoors.
I had a professional use Fusion Pro for my new shower install. He used it on the bathroom floor, shower walls and shower basin( floor). This work was performed in summer of 2017. After about 1.5 years I noticed the color started to loose its brightness. We do not use any harsh chemicals to clean the floor. Just soap and water is all that is needed. The color used was bright white. The floor tile grout looked great until the color changed to a kind of light dirty gray. Tried to cleaned the tile with a brush and soap and water but no change. The shower walls seem to be ok but again there is the grout color change like the the bathroom floor grout. The really bad issue is the shower basin/floor grout not only lost it's color but the grout was breaking up in the area where I stand and wash myself. So I am doomed to keep repairing the grout with fusion pro unless I have a contractor come and rip out the floor and start over with super expensive epoxy based grout. I think after I let the grout cure for 7 days I'm going to apply some thompson water seal to the grout and see if that makes a difference. I will keep this review updated.
Is this 1980? Corporate training instructional video + so cringe. Our special VIP important corporate departmental executive. LOL. Fusion Pro is a difficult product to work with. Very unforgiving and tedious. I can only imagine the amount of heat CBP was receiving that resulted in the production of this video.
Well you are selling a very costly grout to do fast and cure for 7 days? No grout takes this time plus it’s not a one man job too. It should be easy application and curing too…
I using this grout today and tonight if i would of used spectalock it would of taken me 3 hours now ill be here until early i the morning they are full of shit
I would never recommend this grout, when homeowners purchase it for me to install I have them take it back. It’s garbage and is not better than other grouts.
I just finished using this grout for the 1st time I’d rather use mapei flex colour cq wayyy better product everyone who says this grout is easier and faster to use than a cement base is a liar!!!
Worst grout ever. Mapei pre mixed blows this crap out of the water, to many steps to clean. You don't need release with Mapei, it easily floats in, easily cleans up with no haze. I lay tile everyday I will not use fusion pro ever. But everyone likes what they like so happy grout days, that means a check is coming soon lol!
Thanks for the feedback - I'm doing my first tiling project ever and now am down the grout rabbit hole. This stuff, Fusion Pro, seemed like it was a superior product as it's hybrid right BUT seeing how fast it dries and how it can stain my tiles I'm having second thoughts. I think I'll be taking it back and using regular old premixed grout. So my grout worn't last till the end of time and may stain but this stuff seems too fussy, what's with having to work with it in 4-5 minute intervals!! It just a kitchen backsplash not the bloody Cystine Chapel!

Can you put more fusion pro grout on a joint if you have too much of a valley in it?

Very confused about the water guidance.

doesnt really spread easily, and they should make it less sticky when dry

Yeah - the constant change in directions and disorganization make this really hard to watch. The video could be half as long and twice as informative.
thanks for the vid and info.
Safety glasses while talking to the camera with backlighting...bad choice.

Can I use a cheesecloth instead of a microfiber cloth?

Same times the ground it's too dry it's possible to add water?

Fusion grout sucks to me and its expensive also the application process its really slow and complicated
Complicated? You literally put it on, wipe, and it’s done.
@@douglee650 you forgot the other 4 wiping stages. Very tough to not leave a haze without marring your grout lines

Rather use regular grout , not much to gain from this variant
Good luck with that, lol!

I did 130 SQ FT of floor tile in 2 hours with Fusion pro.....FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!!!

This Fusion Pro grout alternative product will cause nightmares.
