- After many requests, I'm happy to finally take the time to sit down and sift through my entire game collection. Hopefully, this inspires some of you to go out and collect!

There is nothing wrong with wanting to own something for the pure fact of owning it. A lot of those games may be ready available on the PS5 but thats the beauty of physical media or figures, cards or whatever collectable...the pure comfort of owning something.
To get a bit real, We exchange our time and energy for money to survive and provide. Then half of it gets taken off us and put back into society and then the rest we spend on entertainment with nothing to show for it and nothing tangible. So in 2024, I don't want to hear someone excuse themselves for owning something real. Your collection is awesome Matty. Keep Collecting!
Finally reached a point of clarity and am “purging” my collection of things I don’t love. It’s easy to get sucked into it all and start picking up things to have them. It’s dope to see how tight your collection is and makes me feel even better about my decision to downsize 🙏
I worked for a Gamecrazy as a GM (eventually), and amassed an insane collection. That was after being a huge Saturn and import enthusiast, and getting my NES in 85. I had almost everything I wanted outside of a Vectrex display.
...yeah, my wife at the time sold it all for $100 when I was deployed in the Army. EX wife.
It actually messed me up for a while. I didn't want to collect anymore. I got back into collecting with the Switch. It didn't feel as special at first...until I got kids. Now, it's great knowing I can share it with them.
I'm glad you gave a shout out to Toy Story 3. That game was incredible. I remember summer 2010 playing toy box mode hours on end. Very unique!

I am jealous, my Ma got me to throw out most my covers of games as she wanted less stuff to squeeze into moving boxes whenever we'd move around. A lot of games I loved ended up lost like my Nintendo 64 which was my first console before Playstation. 😅Noice collection btw. 💯 Some of my first games I completed were the series of Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper. Kingdom Hearts. Games like these helped me through tough times.
My mom threw away all my Yugioh cards and Shonen Jump mags when she became Christian.
@@FeiFongWang Yeah, my Ma did that also, she was quite strict when I was a kid. All my Yugioh and Pokemon stuff were called demons and covered in marker, and she threw them in the bins despite me pleading.

Funny my ma made me keep everything .. boxes , manuals (n64 ,gba)everything and I praise the lord for her because I have a collection over 20k cause of her

My collection is pushing 8k right now, and I'm not making content. What the hell am I doing with my life. Your channel is so much fun and is enjoyed by so many people. I wish that I was creative enough to have started a TH-cam channel. I would have loved to collaborate with you one day.

I agree, he should make a spreadsheet where he updates it when he sells some games or pick up others. Although I know it could be time-consuming.

Total underrated game
We played so much local multiplayer on Star Fox Assault growing up. I remember all my friends with Xbox and PlayStation were surprised with how much fun it was.
007 Nightfire is also a must have for local multiplayer

If you're considering recommendations, Matty, I would suggest Tenchu Stealth Assassins for PS1, The Bouncer for PS2, and Resonance of Fate for PS3/Xbox360. I spent an ungodly amount of time on these games back in the day.

Also, Scooby-Doo: Night of 100 Frights is a certified banger. It’s THE hidden gem game I played as a kid. Wish I still had it

13 series in my opinion is some of the best games in the ff series along with 7, 10 and 12, alot of the music in 13 is some of my fav game music of all time. I enjoyed the combat system, and throughout the series the characters grew on me, 13-2 and lightning returns are my fav out of all the 3 though.
Killzone liberation is on ps4/5 digitally
MechAssault 1 and 2 on the original Xbox were great, a reboot of those two and Crimson Skies would be awesome.
Star Wars Episode 3 on the DS is an ELITE handheld game. One of the greatest games of all time.
Saw spectrobes on the DS. Loved that game as a kid! you should do a video on it and the Wii game one day!

I don't understand why people say physical collecting takes too much space. I have around 50 discs and it barely takes any space. 50 might be too much for me, but not in terms of physical space, i just barely have time to play them. And if you compare them to board games they doesn't take any space at all)

That Scooby-Doo on GameCube has a major bug where it won't play on Silver GameCubes. Literally just silver-colored Cubes. Wii, Black Cube, Purple Cube, works. Silver, try to boot, black screen every time. Of course my GameCube is silver, so when I upgraded my PS2 copy to a GameCube copy, I ended up buying a Wii. Went through buying a few copies of that game before realizing it was the system itself and not the disc.
I never thought to use a rotating tower to store games. Nice towers

Great collection! I still recommend DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 1 cuz of the PS2 memory card perks you get for playing 2 & 3 afterwards.
The spines is so funny to me because it’s definitely a region thing.
In the 🇬🇧 the PS2 spines were plain white with black text, and with the PS2 being my favourite system, I don’t mind the uniform, one colour spines for a system. The one thing I hate about the PS2 🇺🇸 spines is that the Playstation logo in the top corner having a random white square background where 🇬🇧 spines make way more sense having the Playstation logo with a black background.

I’ve passed on ryse son of Rome for so LONG. I just beat it for the first time yesterday and yes the QTE are too numerous but that game is phenomenal and should honestly get a sequel

I think we're so desensitized to large game collections on TH-cam since they are usually overly large to a point to where it looks like a hoarders house. When we see a collection like this it seems so small by comparison when in fact, to the average person, they would consider this a very large collection.
I need to inventory my video game collection. I am estimating I have over 4000 games. My insurance company recommends I do a complete inventory of my video game, comic book, and action figure collections and upgrade my renters insurance to a collectors insurance policy, as my renters insurance won't cover much if I lost my entire collection to a disaster.
A friend of mine lost his 30+ years of collecting to a house fire last year and lost everything. That is one of my greatest fears.

26:00 I keep thinking about getting Witcher 3 on the Switch, it's just that I already have a copy on PC and I'm just not sure if the convenience of having it on handheld will outweigh the fact that it just won't perform as well. Otherwise, great game collection!
Get the complete edition on ps4 because its cheaper comes with all dlc and has a free upgrade to ps5 format if you care about graphics and faster load times its an all rounder

Seeing stuff like this always makes me want to get into collecting. I have a decent collection but I traded a lot of stuff in when I was younger and now have a random assortment of games with no boxes and boxes with no games. Maybe I'll take it slow and allow myself like $50 per paycheck to start slowly filling out my collection.
I did the same and don't get discouraged seeing ppl with big collections compared to yours. I started collecting when I was a teenager but didn't really ramp up my buying until years later. I currently own over 500 games now but which I think is close to the same amount in this vid but he could have more.
It's nice to have a retro game store in the area as well. I'm in Tampa Bay so we have plenty around me to get started with a nice collection.
I wish the switch cases had those small squares in the spines like the 3ds with a small distinct art for each game, even if the font is identical.

Honestly as a new collector for me even if there are games remade for modern consoles i just want those original copies. I saw MGS3 subsistence on your shelf for example and thats a great eample. There are just things in those copies of games you cant see or get in the modern rereleases of these titles that are stuck on those og copies. I also own original MGS3 along side subsistence. Who cares. Its your collection if you want those og copies i say go for it

Looking at your Gamecube collection, I noticed a lack of Viewtiful Joe. You should do a video on that and The Wonderful 101, both are great under appreciated games.
Scooby Doo Cyber Chase is great on the ps1 please go back and give it a shot i remember playing it when i was like 4 or 5 and might be a little biased but played it this year still was fun as a crash bandicoot adjacent game.

You can only play expanded Star Wars Battlefront II if you had Xbox Live back in the day and made that purchase. $5 for four levels and 2 characters..... DLC used to be priced fairly....
The Yavin base in SW:KOTOR was also $5.

Upon release there were 3 versions of the game available to buy off the shelf. $60 regular game, $90 Deluxe edition, $120 Super Deluxe edition. What was the difference? So the SDE came with the DE bonuses and the season pass, which cost $50 through the online store. So, Deluxe and Super Deluxe were both rip offs. Then the game added more DLC beyond that to punish their loyal fan base with more wealth extraction. What even is that Science of Borderlands thing? Is it a real world Spy network? Because it seems like a real world spy network....

I miss clash of ninja revolution 3. That was my favorite on the wii. Sad that my disc for it doesn't work anymore. Best naruto game ever made.
