      I don't see the point of review the fossil version, probably they will stop in one or two years the fossil production, the electric competition is pushing hard, and now even more after the Tesla battery presentation. Also, VW will focus even harder with ID cars, even if the specs and prices are not good enough, legacy automakers are under pressure to stop fossil production in order to sell more electric cars. TH-camrs and rest of journalists should focus only on Electric reviews.

      The PSA group has always been very good at designing interiors. My old Peugeot 307 (2002) was far superior and luxurious than the VW Golf of that time, and that was a decisive point for choosing it.

      New Opel cars do look really nice. It is a shame though they killed off Zafira, the only Opel car I would consider owning. If it had design similar to this new Mokka, usability and comfort of old Zafira, it would make a hell of a car.

    • @florianj6490
      @florianj6490 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, Opel can do it like their own opinions. At GM their have depends on the Buick and other market brands like South America and Australia markets. Now Opel can realize itself without regard to the general design philosophy of GM. This is the real Opel brand. That's exactly what Opel said. PSA gives them a free hand in development at the development centre in Rüsselsheim

    Why are manufacturers so obsessed with digital speedometers? I have dyscalculia, and I have real difficulty reading a digital speedometer - my brain literally can't keep up with the speed the numbers change. With an analogue speedometer the actual numbers don't go anywhere, so I always know where 30, 40, 50 etc are. LCD technology means that it can display literally anything, so why on earth can't an analogue speed display be an option? Are people like me who are afflicted by dyscalculia going to be forced off the road because we can't tell how fast we're going?

    • @Djeseret

      @@Djeseret Violently attacked? Seems a bit drastic! Why on earth would it be so controversial as to warrant violence?
      Seriously though, where is the harm in having the option of a digital speed display or an analogue display, depending on the driver's preference? It's an LCD screen after all, it can display absolutely anything.

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks!
      As a start, please tune in to what the animal leather industry tried to do here with our channel: th-cam.com/video/nP_CvLlaFlI/w-d-xo.html
      In general, depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat would be the reason no.1 in other cases, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you accept it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and destroys the environment, you make them more profitable. Also, if you turn the argument around "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize how biased the argument is. After all, would you care for which exact body part you would be murdered? Or imagine someone robs you on the street and beats you to death - would it matter to you if it was for your Smartphone or for your purse?
      The animal agriculture industry occupies 2/3 of all farm land on this planet which cannot be used for direct human nutrition then. That is extremely inefficient. The no.1 cause for deforestation is the animal industry. It is also one of the biggest contributor to climate change. The amount of land, resources, energy and water being used is beyond imagination.
      For the alternative, you can either use artificial fabrics which can be made from recyclables (we have already shown a lot of vehicles that use great fabric seats from PET-bottles etc.) or more and more also from plant-based materials (like Pinatex). And even if you would create a seat completely with petroleum without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is nothing in comparing just to once fueling up your car.
      In practical reasons, fabric or microfibre seats are just more useful. You do not sweat in summer and it is not cold in winter. And if you want the slick look or something to wipe clean easier, that is possible with animal free leatherette.
      Using animal skin on seats is a major issue of animal rights, human rights - and after all it is just common sense what is better both for the environment and just more practical and more luxurious for the customer. We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.

      @@autogefuehl I understand your (generic) reply. Strong points too.
      However when you consider that the last 150 years of civilisation has been created (and destroyed and re-built again) by hydrocarbon supremacy, and the annihilation of many species along the way, cow hide is pretty insignificant in the scheme of things.
      And to pro-port that hydrocarbon based materials are superior seems to be a petroleum executives dream come true.
      Your channel is all about vehicle and car industry news. I enjoy and appreciate that.
      However, hydrocarbons, being the main-stay of the auto industry, and manufacturing have, also, a lot to answer for along with the the agricultural industry.
