Maya makes every car test better. 💯💯
If you want... Something Chinese, get the BYD.
Bjorn low key savage with it 😂
Ok the thumbnail got me in
6:56 Me too Bjørn, 20-25°C is the ideal temp. It's too bad I live in the hot desert Southwest (US) where summer temps almost never go below 30°C and we get highs near 40°C.
'if you want something Chinese - get BYD' 😅
byd atto3 more comfortable, no need wearing hat during summer inside a car
Looking forward to 1000km challenge tonight 👍
You will get lots of Australian viewers on videos about this car
The BYD Atto 3 isn't going to sell well in Europe when it costs as much as a Model Y. In Asia and Australasia the Atto 3 is a lot cheaper than a Model Y and sells well here in New Zealand.
Smaller battery is cheaper than Y. Long range, with similar range to Model Y is very similar and the top end one is now more expensive than Model Y.
Model Y is a lot cheaper than it was (when I bought one!).
It sells well in Sweden
@@rafaelo1around 40% of all registrations happened on the last calendar day in Sweden...
So if seems that these registrations were not from sellings but probably car rent like Sixt.
here in austria byd reduced the price already for about 5000 euro...we get there slowly.
@@stefanwalser2824 whats the price?
Hello, Bjørn!
Which car would you choose between Lotus Eletre and Mercedes EQE for the family? Or which the best SUV the money can reasonably buy if not these two?
Maya is proving to be fun to watch! Pity the same can't be said for the BYD. I noticed a few quality foibles; the ripples on the back of the seats, only one rear light, lack of a frunk cover, no spare tyre. BYD isn't there quite yet.
sorry, i've never seen an ev come with spare tyre..
Almost no cars come with spare tyres anymore, instead it’s a repair kit with a product you put inside the tyre to seal the holes.
you have a lovely daughter! ❤
Jeeeeees. Why did they not put the cable adapters and stuff in the frunk????? They were not thinking! 🇨🇦
In China Atto3 costs twice cheaper than in Norway. So, it has not to compete with Model Y.
But 15 % of my viewers are in Norway. And at least 50-60 % are in Europe.
I've seen there is an aftermarket frunk available for this car... But it is quite small... Not big enough for a banana box
But enough for cables, small stuff etc.
@ yes true! Certainly worthwhile in my opinion
Sorry for hijacking the thread but Ive been trying to find a model 3 test where Bjorn tests the sound system. But there are so many (teslabjorn) tests that I can't find it. Does anyone know where I can find it?
That is random😊 From memory it's a 8 or 9. As an owner and a home system focused audiophile I can say it's excellent for an OEM car system but as always you could upgrade it with after market drivers. Its good enough that I have not bothered. In earlier cars you missed out on the "sub" if you went RWD. Clarity is right up there and bass is good. It also does out of phase or could be Dolby Pro logic spatial sound tricky on some tracks, which was unexpected. Bjorn has done too many model 3 videos for me to remember the context of his impressions. Could have been buried in a 1000km challenge or a range test.
You missed the « what the heck s thing » in the trunk 😎
I doubt BYD's seriousness about selling their current models in the EU, given their limited production and shipping capacity. Nonetheless, a potential price war with other brands in the EU might unfold next year, once their RORO ships are delivered.
In Australia, I bought my 60kWh Atto 3 in late 2022 for about 28,000 euros (AUD46,000). Model Y standard range (60kWh) is 39,000 euros (AUD65,000) - both prices after NSW Government incentives are factored in. Why is there such a price difference between here and EU ?
Because we are getting ripped off, just look at energy prices wholesale vs retail.....it's a total joke.
In Sweden we can lease the Atto 3 for 300 € per month all cost but charging included, the same for the Model Y would be 800€ per month. It’s a no-brainer! Both are on operational leasing meaning we take no personal risk regarding resale value.
Did you make a mistake when counting seats folded amount? One too much maybe?
No
Can i use your referal code in a different country?
Yes
There is da.....Microphooone.. Lets Go :D
For 300k nok it would have been a big seller but for 400 not so much.
Bjorn getting Maya to work for her room and board
model y is about 30cm longer, they are not direct competitors size-wise
But prices are the same.
BYD ATTO 3 👍👏💪🇸🇬
Disappointing. Less than the Kia E-Soul which is 25cm shorter. Why the heck is so much usable space wasted?
7/22, that's right on par (+/-1) with similar sized cars like Niro and ZS, and you're disapointed?
Yeah, chinese small car, for the same price as MY... I'd say all mentioned cars are overpriced, Tesla once again beating the competition.
I'm really looking forward to see what the Tesla "Model 2" will be. I really hope it will be small version MY, similar size to Atto3.
I think that you missed to count a box, you took out two boxes but only added one, when you counted to eight.
My counting was correct. At 7:16, the box on Maya's left han split. Each banana box consists of the bottom part and the lid. It was still one box if you watch closely.
ABC. Build your dreams
Weird price there, atto3 is about half the price of a model Y here in China. 😅
In Thailand:
Model Y RWD: 2 million baht
BYD Atto 3 60 kWh: 1.2 million baht
Cars are now overpriced in Norway
@@bjornnyland it’s a good car if the price is half the model Y, but if the same price, you pay way too much tax?😅
@@mrc775Model Y RWD is also made in China, but has much less markup in Europe.
@@bilgyno1 not from giga berlin? I thought most of them were from Germany
❤❤❤
Unluckily, currently, Thai people have very few EV car choices, so some of them bought this model.
Meya needs the new old pants . Wich was significant destroyed . I liked it 😎
I just wanna know how many bananas do you guys eat..djeez
China, innovation of the world yet they cant seem to put frunks in their EVs despite actually having some space
There is no extra profit for them
The Xpeng G6 has a decent frunk. I'm sure Bjorn will get to check it out soon.
BYD sells millions of cars and make small modifications to them continuously, at a MUCH faster rate than western carmakers in fact, in response to customer feedback. New models and model trims come out from BYD all the time. Yet no frunk, so why is that? Because their customers don't really care if there is one or not, and the aftermarket takes care of the few who really do want a frunk. I have had two EVs so far, and having a frunk or not is like the 20th most important thing I'm looking for in an EV. It really isn't that big of a deal either way.
@@tren133 unresponsive pedal is certainly not in their priorities then
@@tren133given that the front area doesnt get too hot and in this case does have some reasonable room, it wouldn’t be to unreasonable ir costly just to put a liner in there to neaten it up and provide some storage, I regularly use the frunk on my model y for moving stuff from the inside or trunk to there to create more room or to put stuff that i dont want to in the cabin such as takaway food. Its also very easy to remove for service.
Maya 😍 Does she have youtube channel?
Love the test
Think byd NEED lower the price of the atto3 arround 25-30% to make it appealing.
Its like the phonebrands try to go against apple but noone can rly compete against it at the same price
In Thailand:
Model Y RWD: 2 million baht
BYD Atto 3 60 kWh: 1.2 million baht
@@bjornnylandwow that means it is a hefty import tax to bring the car to Norway!I guess the only way for byd to compete is to build a factory in the EU like Tesla did.
In NL:
Model y rwd 46.990 EURO
Byd atto 3 60 kwh 43.000 euro
So also here the BYD could benefit from a lower price
@@sho38 It is more than that I think. Thailand, or Australia, or Brazil, or Israel etc don't really care who is the number 1 selling car in their country, be it from China, Germany, Korea, Japan, US, etc. But if BYD is extremely aggressive on pricing in European nations, particularly the car producing ones (Germany, France, Spain, Italy), and start taking too much market share too quickly, the European brands will quickly lobby their governments to pass (even more) protectionist measures against the Chinese. So if I'm BYD, I'd be content to sell just enough cars here to form a beachhead, but not take too much market right away. Focus on taking over the developing world first with aggressive pricing (see Thailand), and leave Europe for later, and probably leave the US alone altogether. Geopolitically it is much easier to go after those markets first rather than the somewhat anti-Chinese European market and super anti-Chinese American market.
It seems to me they want to position themselves as quality car makers in Europe, not price fighters. Same with all the other Chinese EVs on sale here: way more expensive than in China itself. But at this price, you'd have to have some pretty strong feelings against Tesla to choose this BYD...
No need to test, it’s smaller in all dimensions.
I am portuguese. The voice comands don't work in other languages such as portuguese, castellano, french. Only english... not at Tesla level, sorry.
The comparison is not fair, atto 3 in China is only 20000 usd, and model y rwd is like 36000 usd
But this test was done in Europe and the majority of my viewers are from Europe, no?
... and if you want something Chinese get BYD. 😃
Ioniq 5 all the way
I love how there’s no woke offensive speech in Bjorns world. Ah back when things made sense
Omg Maya's voice is so sexy in English
First
wait Wifey smokes at 4:38? ew
No, that's our neighbour.
Chinese junk
Of course it can beat a Tesla. It's on fire. Sorry it catches fire. A Tesla does not.
