So good seeing you review this car. We picked ours up here in Australia just 9 days ago. I have been watching your channel for well over a year now. Love your videos and we love our inexpensive Atto 3.
Others reviewed first, but this was the one I was waiting for. Can't wait to try myself when it arrives in UK.
I'm impressed that BYD has swapped the wiper and indicator stalks to the correct sides for a RHD car. And the charge port. I wish European manufacturers would do that for their RHDs.
Yeah everyone does that except for the Euro brands. I guess they figure RHD markets are small enough for them to ignore when you consider in the UK & Ireland all cars have the indicators on the left due to EU regs.
@@wojciechkruzel6569 Apparently in Thailand and some other Asian countries, the indicator is on the right side! Coming from a left-hand driving country, I had no problem driving a right-hand drive vehicle in Europe, but I guarantee I will be triggering the wipers if I were to drive in Thailand when I want to indicate.

@@wojciechkruzel6569 Japanese cars in RHD markets does but the indicators on the right. Making one right hand drive possible.
American, European & Korean RHD cars doesn't do the same.
@@zegzbrutal Not true. Go to Australia or Thailand and you'll find Fords and Hyundais with indicators on the right just like the Japanese brands. It's only the Euros and Tesla that always have them on the left.
The rotating screen makes it better for navigation maps in portrait
as well as better for a split screen
Two immediate thoughts.
1. The dashboard had melted
2. You must handcuff kids in the back or you get real garage band.
I am 191cm tall and I had no problem sitting in the front or back of the BYD Atto 3.
I would say it depends on your torso length, like he might be smaller than you overall
But from torso to head he could be taller
Hoping to see a review of the Byd Seal (Atto 4). The design looks stunning. But the software looks clunky and awkward, which could end up ruining the overall experience.
The space in the front is smart from a maintenance standpoint.
This car released earlier than id4. The copy thing should be the other way around.
As an owner of this car I can say that your review feels very fair! I love the car - even the guitar thing. 😂
I keep a water bottle there and the elasticated strings stop any rattles or movement.
Also went to AliExpress for quite a few options, the best being a console top tray that lifts up and allows the large space below to "hide" items.
How fast does Atto 3 charge in winter? If interested, obd2 bluetooth adapter can show battery pack temperature and cell voltage balance.

When you show the Isofix in the front: 1. Why is it on the driver seat? 2. Ah, steering is on the right side, which is the wrong side. 3. Why not having Isofix on the driver seat for small people? Some use really dangerous constructions to sit higher for looking out of the front window.
Thanks for a good review, as usual. Waiting for mine! Here in Sweden, some have had problems with the 12v battery. Is there a setting you need to activate in the screen menu, so that it loads?

I am really interested in this car even though the blue plastic looks like recycled Quantas airline bags from the 70s.
Unfortunately it might not have enough headroom for somebody over 190cm.
I would like to know the fording capability in water for creek crossings, always has me a bit worried about EV's and water. Does it really have a 4wd mode???
for navigation i prefer horizontal view, just like using the phone, you can see more of what ahead instead
Interesting looking car, looks to be decent value for the money...exterior of car looks very nice....the interior....well that is another story. Not my cup of tea...not an issue for me as we likely will not see BYD in Canada for some time.
We are very pleased with our Kona EV.

When you showed us the head room in the front, was the seat all the way down?
In Sweden, this car is almost the same amount of money with model 3(520000sek), however in China this car is almost 210000sek,which is the 1/3 price of the model 3 there(340000 sek for model 3). So I would still buy Tesla in Europe
I can see how kids play this „guitar“ all day long and drive their parents insane 😂
It's either that or they keep asking "ARE WE THERE YET?" The worst of course is when they start the 100 bottles of beer on the wall song.
If you use the OBD scan tool on this vehicle what data is available? Will it show for example the software updates that the vehicle has had or specific battery information?

Generally a nice design, some improvements I would love to see:
- I hope they work on making better use of the front section, lots of space there to claim for a frunk.
- Also I'm a fan of stalks over center console gear, that's lots of space that could go to storage compartments, chargers and such.
BYD is a strong brand.

When you are there, well you be testing the Vin Fast? It is a Vietnamese EV.
Vinfast is currently not entering Thailand.
Thailand and Vietnam also have some level of rivalry.
The makeup light is correct. It has to be like daylight and not yellowish.

Rotating screen is not pointless. Some people prefer portrait. Certain info is easier displayed in portrait.
The right side is not the wrong side when its at the front - especially for SuC compatibility - you just enter the opposite way around.

Helpful video. As always. The BYD Atto 3 has some really cool features. I would have been interested in the Sunshades, which you didn't show. A few years ago I saw a concept car from Byton. The BYD has some similarities with this Byton. Can it be that BYD was created from Byton ?

Hello Bjorn, do you know you can fold the ePriam with the baby seat on ? I am a owner of a model 3 Performance and it fits very well when folded with the seat on the base. To make it easier i fold the ePriam without the brakes on and then pushed in wheels first.
Very nice car with top features and exterior styling. I get a really woerded out feeling with that interior though....looks way too organic. Almost like musculature

4:20, tow hook, should be somewhere you can pop the cover in the bumper and thread this into the car to tow the car out of a ditch in an emergency attempt I think.

I hope they would change the interior soon. I want to buy it but i also have a problem with the interior design of it. Once i jumped into it, i said "the interior looks weird and messy!" the sales told me that the interior designer was the same one of the Mercedes 🙄 should i admire and be wow with it? It's still look messy anyway

It starts at €42k in The Netherlands. I think they'll have a hard time getting into the market with that price, as it's not really cheaper. Still looks like a decent car, but had expected a bit more aggressive pricing. Although a Niro EV now starts at €45k in the lowest trim, people will trust that brand more. All of them look quite expensive compared to a Model Y RWD at €50k. A top spec Niro EV costs the same and is much smaller.
atto3 in china called byd yuan plus .it starts at 137k rmb- 165k rmb about €18.5k- €22.5k. €42k in netherlands is too expensive .
Well, the purpose of the rotating screen is to use Tiktok better.

The Air vents look stylish and the Open door with inside ilumination i think it's cool but exterior nothing special but it's okay, i like more the Ora Good Cat better.
I really like this car and it was topping my list for a while. But then the Smart #1 came and (at least in The Netherlands) for the same price you get a lot more. And the charging curve you showed is very bad. So no longer topping my list 😁
It is so nice 😊 we love it. And find that the charging is working fine.
What gives more for this price?

Seal, Dolphin, probably Seagull (the smallest model that is not yet released) and probably Sea Lion (bigger SUV than Atto3 that not yet released too)
Exactly, Atto 3 should be BYD Whale (whaleskin design in the cabin).

@@benedictuswinner3995 yes i know because im from one too, lol. I removed my previously installed front and side tints for many yrs now... the slight advantages of lessening some direct sun doesnt outweigh the improved visibility without tints so bye bye tints for me 👍
In South east asia its better to have heavily tint windows to prevent smash and grab thieves stealing valuable items in the car
@@PsychedMedia in a way yes, but since i drive a sedan i just put things in the trunk. Also, this still doesnt justify putting dark tints which can endanger u or others because of visibility. Valuables can be replaced, but lives cannot.
@@jackthelad9933 if it’s safe for driving to have dark tints all around then why the developed world forbids it or have strict tint levels? Plus, tints make the occupants unidentifiable then how can you enforce certain rules like seatbelt or using mobile phones?
