    That chuck glider looks like the old Mk1 version that Lidl used to sell the Mk2 version is much more streamline and has been made with modders in mind.👍

    It appears that LIDL introduced a v2 for 2021. TH-camr Stephen Jones has noted the differences between the original LIDL and the 2021 LIDL edition (~June 2021 video). It has more robust fuselage and tapered trailing edges on wings and elevator.
    Nothing wrong with original edition (Cheetah), just another option to modify and design new aircraft creations.

    That P40 flies great just the thing for indoor flying too. 👍
    I agree turn the glider into a plank and add Balsa trailing edges to improve the wing shape.👍
    Funny that banggood copied the Bolt glider and called that the Cheetah and now they have done the Lidl glider and called that a Cheetah is that a wink do you think.

    After about a month of flying both this little warbird and the A210 T-28 Trojan (2 examples of that) our experience is the T-28 is nicer for Old Farts. The bright yellow paint job is better for old eyes and ours pootle around much smother than our A220. None of the XKs match the Volantex/Eachine Mini P-51 for sheer aerobatic fun for a gang of old farts though! OzAmazon turned out to be a much cheaper source of the A210s.

    Great video as usual. The problem with these small planes is that they are too fast to fly indoors, and too light to fly outdoors! The slightest breath of wind makes flying unpleasant. It flies well with the 3D stabilizer but it's not pleasant, you have to fight against the wind.

    10AUD at Kmart for the glider. Picked up 4 in Cairns (plus kids kites - cheapest carbon rods out here in the sticks) while in from the bush for the Christmas shopping spree. They glide nicely. Mods here we go.
    Oh and online 1x = $10 + $18 shipping, 6x = $60 + $20 shipping, but 7x = $70 + $0 shipping! 😜😁
    That P-40 arrived finally. Flies surprisingly well (not quite up to Volantex P-51) but, with that black and white leads motor being run in reverse, not expecting a long life from it. Good to run on an S-bus satellite. Just cycle power to swap between stock Tx and permanently installed satellite bound to TX16S. (6G/3D on ch5, and motor failsafe carries over to TX16S without any setting on the Tx.)

    Andrew:
    Thanks for these 2 new planes to experiment with.
    I just received an XK T-28 in the mail, but will have the XK P40 & Rarebear shortly.
    My T-28, like others have reported for the XK RareBear, has a problem with sporatic stabilization and unpredictable crashing, some say due to a glitch in aileron/rudder mixing.
    I would like to know if you have experienced any of that, and why you think it may be making some of these planes unflyable. One reviewer said replacing the stock receiver with one of the alternative (DSM/Futaba Rx) choices helped a lot. I'm wondering if my T-28 just likes to tip stall as it slows down. Some of my crashes could be sudden power loss as it approaches the end of the battery life, unlike the more gradual decline in power with the Eachine mini-warbirds. Your comments?
    Do you think that extra port on the motherboard (3 pins, next to the servos) might be used to replace the firmware? Do you have an 'in" with the XK people to get more details?
    I hope you will be willing to do additional reviews on the other XK models.
    This was another, nice, clean, thorough video. Keep em coming!
    - Jim

      No contact with XK unfortunately. Seems like the P-40 flies better than the others but this is all I have tried. GroundControlRC would have a better idea than me abut these little XK models.

    Hi ! I have a question for you : I transformed a LIDL glider with rudder and elevator. Not used to flying on a cliff, but there was a dune and strong wing. So, I managed to make it fly a bit and had to add a stone in the nose to make it go down against the strong wing but but very often, the glider was carried away behind me like a kite despite me full on the rudder. What is the main problem please ? Is it because I don't have enough authority or because there is a trick I don't know ? THanks in advance !

    • @CliffHarveyRCPlanes
      @CliffHarveyRCPlanes 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need ailerons GF 👍 Some pretty thorough answers there for you GF, yes it can be made to fly just rudder and elevator but I fly mine in windy conditions and for that ailerons add a whole different dimension, whatever you try as long as fun is happening you've won 👍🙂

    • @marielizysurourcq
      @marielizysurourcq 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CliffHarveyRCPlanes ok, nice to know. Thanks !

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could be a few issues. Maybe not enough wing dihedral to just use rudder and elevator. Too much drag and not enough control for the wind strength, and the slope may not be steep enough. As Cliff said, ailerons and maybe more weight would help.

    I can't stand the perky, peppy, Merkin Disney-sanitised term 'warbird'. They're warplanes. They're planes for fighting wars, just as warships are ships for fighting wars.
    Birds make nests and dig singing; humans make war and dig graves.
