  • How to use you Hamilton Beach popcorn popper. All you need: 1 TBL Spoon Oil. 1/2 - 3/4 cup popcorn seeds. Plug in machine, add oil, let it warm for 2 min, add kernels, cover, and in about 2 min you'll have fresh popcorn. This popcorn maker machine is super easy to use and provides a much healthier option than microwave popcorn. Plus, it's done in about the same time. The only difference is you have a small machine to clean up instead of the unhealthy chemicals and junk in the microwave bags. Add some butter to holes on top to let it drip in while it cooks. Or just add your own melted butter afterward. UPDATE: I'm told this machine works great for roasting coffee beans. I've never tried it, but it makes perfect sense.

    I follow those steps and I get tons of unpopped kernels :( cannot figure out how to get all the kernels to pop.

    • @thanethebrain
      @thanethebrain  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the machine is working (heating correctly) AND your kernels are fresh, then you should get a good batch. But YES... you'll always have a few that don't pop.

    I tried to cook tunafish with this device and was very disappointed. I believed that the stirring action would help achieve a very uniform cook but it was not successful. Next time I will not add the coffee beans to the tunafish, perhaps the beans were to moist.

      @@thanethebrain It was terrible, I still do not understand what the coffee beans were for. The tuna burned and created a crust while the inner tuna smear and seared to the metal arms. Later on after I thought it was clean my grandson tried to make popcorn and I hadn't cleaned it well enough, I could smell if from the den but he was oblivious to the smell. It only took a few handfuls and he became disgusted by it. My wife is also very upset.

      @@thanethebrain I had intended to create tuna croquettes. The arms created a spread or smearing result, there was little stretching. It was a mistake I will never make again, I will likely stick to more traditional cooking methods in the future if for no other reason than to stay out of trouble. My wife reminds me daily of my blunder and I cannot emotionally handle any more failures.

    Can you use it with out oil?

    • @thanethebrain
      @thanethebrain  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you need some oil to help the kernels get hot fast and pop. If you don't use oil, I think kernels will scorch and burn and not pop very well.
