I can listen to this over and over again (actually this is the third version of this song that I stream tonight) and I just can't get why so much people hates Load/Reload. Mature songwriting, powerful lyrics, great groove. Wonderful albums. Jason is surely missed by the way.

Rob is a great musician, and fits really well with the band. But yes, Jason was my fav. member, just based on his energy and heart. James is my man, as far as riffs and lyrics goes, but Jason was the live embodiment of Metallica.

The groove they had in their performances from '93 to '00 were just amazing like no band has ever made me feel more like dancing AND moshing at the same time (besides maybe chilli peppers) I can't get enough of this era they just did it so well i don't even care how much it "isn't thrash metal" they still kicked ass and they sounded GREAT doing it! People just gotta learn to love all styles of music because ALL OF THEM have their own unique way of just being amazing, you have to learn to break music down to it's very core and build up from nothing, if you ONLY like metal or ONLY like pop or ONLY like rap or jazz etc. YOU ARE NOT LIVING RIGHT you have to love all music people, genres are nothing, music is music and there's good songs and bad songs sure but if you open yourself up you might be surprised how much you love some 60s pop rock or some jazz or some blues, or rap, modern or old metal, the possibilities of great songs are endless

Lars raises his game when playing load and reload material. Pretty much every song on those albums is a stadium anthem, which he typically likes to play rather than the locked n loaded thrash stuff
He does, for the 30th Anniversary show he played pretty energetic and overall good

I love how when Jason was playing he received hate for not being Cliff but once he left, fans understood what he brought to the table - raw live energy, cooking monster backing vocals and musical synergy - not the bassist they wanted at first but the one they needed badly after Cliff. P.S. I like all the different bassists of Metallica as they gave important musical direction and qualitites which evolved the band.

What a bass line! Jason was the best Metallica bassist for me by far. Cliff was great of course, let's not get that twisted. Lol. This song is such a kick ass track. Love it.

Lars isn't the most technical drummer but he's the perfect drummer for metallica. For good or bad Lars and James have wrote the majority of the metallica catalog. Lars was also responsible for a lot of the behind the scenes shit that fans dont ever know about or see. You could have a super technical guy like portnoy instead of lars but the albums wouldn't have been the same without lars's input. Theres a reason why before the pandemic that Lars's band toured whenever they wanted to and portnoy toured when he could.
