I didn’t know you could extrude from a surface like that, that looks so useful. I have a tip for you. When you enter a dimension for length, radius etc it will briefly show you a dimension number such as d23, or d52 or whatever. If you later enter d23 instead of a specific value it will use the same value. You can then change the first value then all the subsequent values will update. You can also do arithmetic. D23-d15 or (d23-1)/2 etc.

Awesome thanks for that tip! My Fusion 360 modeling will make actual engineers cry I am sure!
One thing I learned since this video is when extruding from a surface it is usually better to extrude to a new body, then you can make adjusts to the new part (filets, angle of part etc) without impacting the main body. Then combine them when you are all done.

Love your vids man. Is there a way to just extrude the lines u make? I feel like u have a video on it and i cant find it now that i nees it lol. So say i just wanna make a few crescent style lines and extrude them into the bait kinda like the ribs but if i dont want it to circle the whole bait. I just want it to trace the lines i draw

Love your video. Trying to learn cad for lures. Work with a CNC shop on their website and want to make an aluminum mold. Can you figure out how to make a mold. Thanks!

Oh man I am jealous! I have a small desktop CNC on order so more CAD/CAM stuff is coming up. I am going to do a basic mold design video next week that should be enough for you to had off to the CNC folks to get cut.

@@WMBayouLures Thank you so much. I have been wanting to do a mold for a long time. That is one reason I work there. No one on staff has ever made a mold. Thanks!!

could've just done the eye and fins on one side and mirrored them, ( select feature)

For sure, many different ways to do it in Fusion, maybe too many ways! ;-)

Good day to you, i tried this for myself, great trick, but got the warning- the sweep would create an illegal surface - Maybe you can give some tips, because i can`t find solution in autodesk forums and other places

That usually means the bend is too tight, you can try to use the pipe command in the forms interface.

Couldn't you go diagonal the other way and create scale pattern?

yep if you want to do a cross hatch/knurl you totally can. Fusion will start to bog down down the more you add...

@@callummunrofishing just read your other comment on wanting to do machining, they made some changes recently and you might need the paid version if you want to do the CAM work but I am not 100% sure on that
