    These adapters get extremely hot, almost in the relm of being painful to touch. I'm thinking of taking mine out of its case and adding a few stick on heatsinks onto the chips and putting it into a larger enclosure. Because how hot it gets doesn't seem like it would last long.

    If I was doing my CNC build again I wouldn't waste time with stepper motors. They caused so many problems with inaccuracies which prevented my two part molds fitting right. I found that the smaller tools require higher speeds but steppers have very little torque above a certain speed and lose steps. Losing half a mm over a job is enough to prevent aluminum mold halves fitting together. Any money I saved by not buying servos was lost in expensive slabs of aluminum I couldn't use.

    Patent protection is granted for a limited period, generally 20 years from the filing date of the application; so its 20 years not 25. I haven't read the patents yet, but I believe what you are trying to describe is a CIP (continuation in part). A CIP application allows the client to keep the original design features in the patent application which allows the client to seek patent protection on the original design features at a later date. Finally, if the design was already out in the fishing community, then the patent shouldn't have been granted. Do you have evidence that similar lures existed before the chatterbait was patented?

    • @WMBayouLures

      Thanks for clearing up those specifics! I will go find the video that mentioned the earlier bladed jigs. I don't know the specifics but this gentleman had a few samples of what he claimed where bladed jigs released before the Chatterbait was patented. In my limited experience with the patent office, specifically in the tech/software space, it is almost impossible for them to track down prior art in these small niche areas.

      Every resin has a temp range but 72F is generally considered "good", rememb er this is just the temp of the resin.. The room can be 0F but if you warm the resin to 72 you will be fine. Once the printing starts the resin will keep itself warm in all but the coldest conditions.

  • @Laserwurks
    @Laserwurks 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I just got a clue on when and why you might not want to use a swivel when fishing a deep hole. Drop spoon directly down to depth of fish showing. Raising spoon up and down about 20 to 25 times then hold spoon and rod steady and let the line spin the spoon at stationary level waiting on fish to strike.

    • @WMBayouLures
      @WMBayouLures 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interesting technique, never tried that but sounds like a good way to get a ton of line twist even if it works. When you reel up the spoon is going to twist the line. Not the end of the world but something to think about.

At the moment it only comes in one weight size. Can it be patent? Should I patent before I bring it to market? Should I get a patent attorney to do the patent? or can I do it myself. • @WMBayouLures
      @WMBayouLures หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@fishyknife Every lure I design is not something currently on the market, and I don't have a patent on any of them. Just because nothing is like it on the market, doesn't mean it can be patented or it hasn 't already been patented. While technically you can get a patent yourself, the chances of it being a patent that can't easily be circumvented is fairly small. Writing patents is a skill/art. A good patent attorney is going to cost you $10k-$20K dollars to go through the entire process. If you get a patent (big if) then you will need an attorney to send cease and desist letters to everyone that violates it, if you miss one then your patent becomes basically worthless. This will get you a US patent, no one outside the US is covered by this patent. So China, Japan etc can copy it and make there own version. You will spend countless hours playing whack a mole keeping these listings off of Amazon/Temu etc.... So how many lures do you have to sell before you get $15K back? It usually answers itself....

    • @fishyknife

      @@WMBayouLures Net 7/8 bucks off each lure/15k not a problem. The problem is knock offs made in china and sold on temu etc. Spoke to the company and the manager hinted at what we were going to use there product for. If we get the patent in US and then would like to sell it over seas. we talked to the company and they said it would be possible to make the mold in different sizes which truly make this one of a kind lure. "patent there bigger mold?" It would not be hard to spot patent infringement on amazon/ebay etc. Air tight design patent? We dont want to waste time and energy by going down this rabbit hole only to play whack a mole. My question is how you would go about this since you design lures. Do we get a provisional first then fully patent or throw it on the market here and say "there just gonna copy it any way?" It's a basic design, not complicated at all? P.S. we will also be selling other fishing related products year round on our web site.. This lure would bring them to our door to build our brand name?
