I bought this saw a few years ago and paired it with the Ridgid miter-saw-universal-vehicle portable stand.
For occasional DIY-er use, I've no regrets and feel that I've gotten the best value for my money spent.

You sir, did a terrific job reviewing your new saw!
Oh, boy, am I happy I decided to click on your video. You helped me make the decision to buy this very machine that's already in my shopping cart on another tab I have opened . lol
Thank you so much for taking the time to let us all know how you feel about your new purchase!
Keep making videos, as you do an awesome job!
    God bless!

I’m a retired ProfessionalWoodworker and this Saw definitely looks like a Winner on the dualCompound 12” Blade saws it’s very important for the bars to be 1” thick or bigger easy smaller dimensions have too much flex in them and really throws the Accuracy of your Cuts way off the price point of his saw is excellent and the Quality blows away the older Hercules Harbor Freight sold i. had a crew of over 40 ArchitectualWoodworking Installers and i did find the Delta Stands held up the best for CommercialWoodworking Enviorments and being transported with the Saws attached in Box. Trucks i also often had to drag them on rough terrains and difficult Buildings to get them to where we needed them plus the Outriggers and Welds held up fantastic ! As a general rule Delta does provide decent Woodworking Tools i have some older 10” Delta Miter Saws that are over 30 years old and they have been abused we used them to cut Aluminum Angle Iron Stock and smaller Wood trim and only the occassional Trigger Switches would wear out

Dual bevel actually means it will tilt (bevel) both ways. Single bevel will only tilt to the left.

I was just going to comment the same thing. Your right. This is a single bevel saw.

Current price is $239 without blade Blade is $26 at harbor. Still a steal. The cheapest any model I could find with a laser was $699. Led sight line lights suck and you can’t see in sunlight. Buy with a chase freedom flex card and you get an additional year warranty!!

Thanks, you answered a couple questions for me. I got mine at Harbor freight in Niles, Ohio (customer return) 149.00 (NOTHING wrong with it, they weren't sure), I checked, and it all seemed ok, so I took a chance and have been very please with mine so far. Now the real test starts tomorrow... rebuilding my front stairs and some other work that needs to be done. I just got a new stand for it a couple of days ago, found it at a discount store in Boardman, OH. normally 249.00 at Home Depot (Rigid brand) for a REALLY great price. (if I told you, you would not believe me) Thanks Again

I just got mine yesterday. Only one store an hour away had it so I ordered it. It would have cost more in gas to pick it up. As you mention, a negative is all of the blemishes. There are lots of surface imperfections and nicks and scratches in the paint. You can immediately see how HF is saving money with regards to the non-operational parts. Also a small piece broke off. I found it laying in the box. Took me a while to figure out it's one of the fingers that extends down from the bottom next to the back of the black lever you pull up to adjust the cutting angle. I might super glue it back on but really it doesn't matter. As long as it cuts accurately and lasts a long time I'll be happy with not having to spend a lot more elsewhere. I expect the Admiral brand to be a step up versus their Chicago Electrics but I couldn't justify paying $150 more for the Hercules. Maybe that one looks better. The Admiral vs. CE price difference was even less considering this came with that 60 tooth blade that a lot reviewers really like. It looks quite sharp and sturdy and like you I'll probably use it a lot.

I have this saw, and it's great value for the $, but rigid and Hitachi (metabo hpt) have had some screaming deals lately. Not sure where they're priced now, but watch them.. This is a great saw, but I only got it because it was the best value at the time.. If I were buying now, I might do some comparison shopping.

I'm hearing the bevel lever is breaking off these. And the lock down lever too. A lot of these have been returned over those issues. I got the Hercules and it out performs my dewalt.

Never cross your arms across the blade like you did at the opening of the video. That is to say don't bring your left hand across the blade to hold the workpiece. Its safer to switch hands to operate the handle.

Picked mine today. Last one within a 50 mile radius. I have the 20% discount coupon for any one item. I was initially told that it cannot be applied to Admiral Miter. I said I did not see anything in the coupon and about to just use the $20 off, but then the manager said that he will let me use the 20% because of the long line of people waiting. I have not used it yet but it seems that I am lucky enough to get this fine tool for a lower price. Looking forward to using it. I will probably but the contraption that allows longer pieces to be cut. Thanks for review!!

This test is only if you want to saw with precision, with a miter saw. (test is not for rough work).
    Tips and Test:
Very important if you would like to saw with precision. (avoid torsion as much as possible)!
Always choose a Miter saw with a handle positioned in a VERTICAL line above the saw blade.
Everything must be aligned, slide rails, handle, and saw blade,it is much better this way the blade will not tilt.
Because there is some torsion in the aluminum housing .
And choose an engine with softstart on it to prevent wear of the gear and worm shaft.
It is very important that everything is aligned.
Here are some examples to show how the handle must be positioned above the blade.
    Bosch gcm 800 sj / Bosch gcm 8 sjl / Evolution rage 3 / FESTOOL KS 60 / Bosch GCM 8 SDE / FESTOOL KS 60 E KAPEX / Metabo KGSV 72 Xact / Bosch PCM 8 SD / Hitachi C10FSH / Ridgid MS255SR 10-inch / Evolution Fury3-S / Evolution R255SMS.
(This also is the case with the Miter saw without the slide rails).
(If you want). You can test it yourself at home if there is torsion in the aluminum housing.
Step-1. First you make a saw cut from +-5 mm deep in to a flat piece of wood about +- 20 mm thick to this with the normal handle positioned on the right side of the Miter saw (the wood it will remain in place until the test is completed).
Step-2. Then repeat this by pushing the saw blade down with your hand (finger) on the aluminum protective cover were the saw blade is cased in. Just now only do this without the running engine.
Step-3. Now you can see if the saw blade will be positioned in or next to the saw cut. If the saw blade is (+- 0,2 / 0,5 mm) next to the saw cut then there is torsion in the aluminum housing (test is completed).
Step-4. Therefor it is much better to choose a Miter saw with the handle positioned VERTICAL in line above the saw blade.
The second option is the handle positioned HORIZONTAL in line above the saw blade.
Step-5. When you measure the vertical angle square of you're sawblade don't forget that there is always some torsion in the aluminum housing.
Conclusion: how further away the handle is from the saw blade how more chance of torsion in the aluminum housing.(don't go for that).
Also with a cheap slide miter saw it is still better the handgriff in line a above the saw blade than on the right side. Maybe they will make it someday then we have a winner...

I have a question, but first thank you for making this review to help other people make choices and save ALOT of money that can be saved with good products. Anyways, it says this video is 1 year old, and I was wondering if you use the Saw regularly, and if it is still holding up strong? I would really appreciate a response as I am looking into buying a Saw because my dewalt 705 is on its last leg after about 19 years, and I would like to save some money if possible

I use it a ton. I'm actually building another stall for our goats today and will be filming the build. I will be using this saw for most of the cuts. Did yours come with spare parts? Mine had the 12" blade, a wrench for taking off and installing new blades, a metal back bracket and two small plastic black brackets with a small black bolt and a small metal screw. I only saw one place to attach the small black plastic bracket. I'm guessing that the second one is just an extra one?Mine also has a bag with two small springs that look like they have magnets on one end. Any info on what those are for? I don't see any info in the instruction manual, unless I'm overlooking it. I'm not sure what those parts are for and appreciate any info you can share.
