This is one of major reasons I'm going with the Simmons Titan 50...The Drum Sounds of India. Simmons has been in the forefront of eDrums, since 1978 and came after the Pollard Syndrums. I understand that just because Simmons has been around longer than Alesis, doesn't necessarily make them a better drum set. Alesis Mesh was at the top of my list of affordable eDrums, but when I found out about the preinstalled tabla sounds, I was sold. Another major factor that made my mind up was that the Titan 50 bass drum tower is designed for a single pedal or double bass drum pedals and if I went with the Alesis Mesh, I would have to buy a drum tower that was compatible with double bass pedals. The only extras that I need with the Simmons Titan 50 expanded set, is a throne, double bass drum pedals and sticks.
I agree these sound really nice! But strangely, there is no lineage between the original Simmons and these. I believe Simmons went out of business in the 90's, and Guitar Center later bought their trademark. So, these are actually just modern, Chinese-made e-kits with the Simmons branding added by Guitar Center. I had to figure this out when I noticed Sam's Club selling cheap Simmons kits about 15 years ago, and they were the worst quality e-drums I had ever seen or heard. But they have obviously come a long way! And, come to think of it, Alesis didn't start making full kits until right around that same time 🤔
I did not know that, thanks for the info. I still prefer the Simmons Titan though. It's a tough choice, I could go either way when I'm ready to buy it.@@Rompler_Rocco
@@Rompler_Rocco I believe that it's the best for the money. The bass drum pad can easily accommodate a double beater pedal whereas the Alesis bass drum pad doesn't. It will work but barely, because each beater hits the outer rim of the pad and not the center. The Titan has plenty room for 2 beaters. Not only that, I like the different sound catalog of the Titan over the Alesis sound catalog or list or whatever you call it.
Hey James I am an old bass player buying this set to record ...so I am new to e drums ....what sticks do you use ...are they wood or the plastic type and nylon tips????...i do APPRECIATE any drummers advice for my first pair to use with these mesh heads????
Hey Justin. Thanks for this demo. This is what most drummers want to see/hear when a new kit is released. So impressed with this module and internal sounds. Do you know if they will sell the module separately to use with other brand pads?
It really just depends on you budget and situation. If you want something in the $300 range this is the best for electronic drums. If you live somewhere where you can be loud, you may also want to consider acoustic drums.
@@demonicsweaters I actually do want acoustic drums but my current situation doesn’t allow for it. These drums or $400 where I live, so I was wondering if it’s worth it or not
@@deluna2152 I no longer have it, so I am not sure. I would not really consider it to be the most durable drum set I have used though. If you're looking for durable, I would strongly consider getting a Roland or Yamaha.
How does the bass kick pedal feel to you? I tried this set at guitar center. I found the pedal frame to be wobbly despite the fact that they Velcro it to the carpet. It also squeaked a lot. And the real kicker (see what I did there...) I had to hit it fairly hard to get the sound to trigger, harder than it looks like you are in this video. Thanks for the demo!
I haven't tried that, but my experience is dual zone cymbals usually don't work well on tom inputs. You could however map more cymbals to tom rims if you had dual zone toms.
Both are good kits. The roland will cost you a bit more, doesn't have a true kick tower, smaller pads, less powerful module, but it is a roland, so you know the quality will be good, higher resale value and has dual zone cymbals.
Very realistic acoustic drum sounds! Every bit as good as Roland but for about half the price! Most of these kits are very USABLE unlike Roland’s gimmicky keyboard sounding crap.
Well it is a newer kit. However, I think a lot of that just comes from the fact that the Titan has built-in compression. I've recorded both of these kits and used them in music, and I still think the SD1250 has better overall sounds, and more of them. You just have to tweak it a bit more to get the best results.
BTW, do you use Spotify? If you do, I would like to ask you to follow my band Demonic Sweaters there. We're very close to 200 followers and I would really appreciate it! Thank you so much, I hope you're having a great day! Justin
I still can’t believe how good this thing sounds. Alesis is in big trouble.
Yeah no brainer this one all the way
I was looking at the same priced alesis until I heard the sound from the Simmons... EZ choice now lol
Nicely done!
This has me ordering one this week for Christmas for my son and I will definitely play too!
I am so glad you made this video! I was looking to see if the Simmons Titan 50 kit came with Indian sounds, and I got my answer. Thank you so much!
Glad I could help!
Can't buy it in India though. I want it
Thank you for this demo, it helped decide on buying this one! As a Brazilian, that Brazil kit is extremely accurate lol
The 80’s Gated is one of my favorite sounds on this set.
Just bought one! Thanks!
Very sweet sounds. I love it. Reminds me the sounds from Millennium mp 750 drum kit. You always rock brother. Love ur channel.
thank you!

I'm really impressed with tge snare sound
Arriving tomorrow! What are the dimensions of the rack? Meaning footprint on floor. Thanks! Your' vids helped my decision!
It just depends on how you set it up, around 4x5-ish feet
How do you bring the volume up on let's say the hi-hat or bring the kick drum down a bit ??
Hi i have the same kit and can you tell me what settings you use for the snare mine Sound terrible.
Hey Justin. Thanks for this demo. This is what most drummers want to see/hear when a new kit is released. So impressed with this module and internal sounds. Do you know if they will sell the module separately to use with other brand pads?
Thank you! No, they have no plans to sell it separately. But you could buy the whole kit for less than a Roland TD-17 module, haha.
Fortunately this kit is not available in Germany. Otherwise I would be sad for having bought the Nitro Mesh Kit - which is great too!
I’m going to pick one of these kids up today. A little machine gunning but I can handle it. It’s either that or the Yamaha DTX8.
I have one of those, I bought it 4 months ago. but the kick pedal sometimes doesn't respond well
wow bro!
Can you switch the cymbals around the way you want it? Say if I wanted to make the crash cymbal to my right side instead of the left near the snare?
Yep, you can assign any sound to any pad
This was such a good video… thank you. Would you recommend this for a total newb?

For me it’s very stable, but my only real criticism is it is pretty hard feeling. This could probably be relieved with a tennis ball beater though.
Great demo! I've read the cymbal inputs are all in one zone only, but could you repurpose one of the dual zone Tom inputs to be a dual zone cymbal?

How dose this stack up to a Roland td1dmk ?

@@demonicsweaters thanks we’re gonna go for the Roland 👍🏼
Why does this drums have 2 low toms ? I have usually only seen 1 with titan 50
This one has the expansion pack
great ! how it works with daw /vst?
Amazingly well! see this th-cam.com/video/h0IpPxOCopU/w-d-xo.html
Can you do a rimshot with the snare say like old country music rimshot?
Do you mean a cross stick? Oddly, they didn't include a cross stick sound, but you can assign a clave sound to the snare rim.

Definitely nowhere near as good as Roland, but not bad for the money.
How is the rim shot
it's good.
Idk but for me the sound quality of the kits sounds higher quality then my Simmons sd1250

Is it as good as the Yamaha dtx6k-x?
different ballpark
Is it available in Europe?
I do not believe so
Does it fit a double bass pedal?
Yep!
Lmao the Metalstar and Nails kit is super interesting. I could see you pulling off a song using the same concept.
I do like the Nails kit, I've been meaning to use it in something.
I got this for my son $329.00 an it’s here and I wanna open it so bad! 😂
Can't get this kit in Canada
Look for the FED 1000 or 1200. Gives you more for your money and better built
Every tom sounds like poop wtf how
