Ikr, it's so well done, and the general atmosphere and attention to detail in this game is something I find most other games fail miserably at, it's why I love this game

That's just it. Those are their property. Everything you have on you is theirs. You still have ti give those back and pay the 1,000,000,000,000 credits worth of damages, used and "stolen" materials. You still have to give them their stuff back.
They should have added a point system where the more precious stuff you bring from the planet & the more data you find from wrecks &alien chaches, the more money/points you'll get. That way, you'll get rewards for exploring more places around the crater.
Not really, When you first find diamond they tell you, you will be compensated for materials you bring back with you, and if you brought back any of the alien energy cubes you could very well pay it off.

Literally finished the game last night, the debris field had me freaking out too. When that panel flew off the wall, I got a flashback to the first scene in the life pod when that panel flies off and knocks you out. Thankfully it doesn’t hit you. Even at the end of the game they still manage to master terror.
I find the fact that your character actually covers his face when the piece of metal starts to come off the wall pretty funny, it’s like he learned from the life pod at the start of the game.
This game starts with you getting knocked out by a piece of metal and when you exit the lifepod from the top for the first time, you see the birds or whatever it is. It ends with you seing the birds or whatever they are, and you avoiding the piece of metal. Nice detail.
The worst part about all this isn't even paying the one trillion credits, the worst part about this ending is having to leave the cuddlefish behind !!! 😭😭

I accidentally killed my cuddle fish with my cyclops (not exactly sure how, the propeller I think but was escaping a reaper at the time) and I didn’t hesitate to quit game without saving and go back. No accomplishment was worth loosing my lil buddy

This was the first and last ending to a game that made me cry. Reminds you of everything, everything you have done, every peeper and bladderfish you had to grab, every reaper that scared the shit oit of you, and every moment that made you say nope. GG subnautica, my favorite game :D

I think it's possible that the calculation is automatic (the PDA also talks about your debt when you're on the planet, despite not being connected to any banking network) and does not actually represent your situation with Alterra.

was replaying this game after they recently added some new goodies and I always tear up talking about the ending, and what strikes me the most is the fact the game actually does have an ending. I mean you look at other survival craft games they don't have one.... heck even some well known titles don't have an epic ending like okami for instance, just cliff hanger after cliff hanger (don't even get me started on mass effect lol ).... seriously tho what an ending this game has, absolute masterpiece.

Geglyko the audio, the gameplay, the story, its all beautiful. They did so much work on it and now its awesome in every way. Oh and btw i also have had it for a while. I had it for at least a year before release
The craziest part about this is that the ship never actually leaves the planet in-game, it’s a dynamic skybox that gives the impression that you’ve lifted off!
This ending was one of the only game endings I nearly cried too because the game was so good. It really hit me with that last bit of dialogue from the Sea Emperor.

It’s a balance, not a debt *THEY REWARD YOU THE MONEY* I mean, think about it. You cured a impossible disease, you (hopefully) saved the sunbeam ship, you’ve got access to alien technology (they said the alloy making the buildings was indescribably hard), and you’re the lone survivor from a planet that houses multiple leviathan class creatures, as well as being almost entirely water and *THE V O I D*.....
Let's not forget that ryley has the blueprints for an advanced battery and has the location of an infinite high energy source which could be invaluable to altera and the most noteworthy thing is that alterra has to do barely anything to achieve this except letting ryley in and making him the leader of a team with the goal of researching the alien bases and learning more about the production of ion crystals all in exchange for the debt of one person
@@agorman1341 He can't legally sell it, he found it while working as an employee of Alterra, it belongs to them. All the blue prints, everything you do belongs to them. The only way he gets free is if he manages to root his PDA/alter its memory/or threatens them into capitulating his debts.
Makes sense, the Cyclops is only rated for 500 meters, and they were at 3500 meters when they lost contact. Cyclops is also supposed to be much more advanced than Titan so it should be rated for greater depths, given that it's in the far future.

I’ve just noticed, if you look at the planet at 3:06 then you can clearly see the 2 islands and the Aurora. If you were to take off near the Aurora, you wouldnt be able to see it. And its obvious he DID launch from near the ship
I remember when I played this back in 2018 and when I saw the character pan back toward the planet at 3:20 toward the ice area i said "That's an easter egg for the sequel's location". The fact that "abandon ship" played as the credit song made putted me on edge the first time, the songs is great but the circumstances where we usually hear it made me associate it with inminent danger
Guys, dont panic because it says 1 trillion credits, i think there is a weird sort of credit thing so that 1 Trillion credits is about $50 because there is no $ sign there is just credits.
There is a workaround for his balance. The alien spider robot. If you scan it, the PDA said “to capture for altera for mutual profit.” The company is actually willing to pay you, to bring them alien tec, because it’s more advanced than our own, and you’re the only one that found the spider droids.
I feel bad for the main character. His entire crew died and he had to survive on his own on a foreign planer while dealing with a virus. And when he comes back home, they deny his entrance.

Altera sounds like it is most likely originated from the U.S.A as it’s capitalist English speaking was obviously a world super power and the protagonist is white so it’s likely not African or Asian. Making the big assumption of consistent inflation rates. And subnautica taking place in 2175. It’s only like 473 million usd.

Subnautica is one of The games which Has an ending that hits very damn different. If I was in a situation like this, I would probably decide to stay there.
I feel like they should've had him wave or reach out at the planet right before the ion boosters took place. Just a little something I think they could've added. Because if I've learned anything from Subnautica and ARK, It's that you can convey a lot of emotion through only hand gestures

5:45 shows that the Cyclops is a trademark by Oceangate. The same OceanGate of the Titan that imploded.
Makes sense, the Cyclops is only rated for 500 meters, and they were at 3500 meters when they lost contact. Cyclops is also supposed to be much more advanced than Titan so it should be rated for greater depths, given that it's in the far future.

@@atigerclaw even with the mk3 module, the Cyclops is only rated for 1700m, why would an inferior, early Earth prototype for the Titan be better? Unless planet 4546B has significantly different atmospheric pressure or gravitational differences, I would expect the depth rating to be inferior and 3500m would be well beyond the capacity of the Titan.

I’ve just noticed, if you look at the planet at 3:06 then you can clearly see the 2 islands and the Aurora. If you were to take off near the Aurora, you wouldnt be able to see it. And its obvious he DID launch from near the ship

Making the big assumption of consistent inflation rates. And subnautica taking place in 2175. It’s only like 473 million usd.

Subnautica is one of The games which Has an ending that hits very damn different. If I was in a situation like this, I would probably decide to stay there.
I feel like they should've had him wave or reach out at the planet right before the ion boosters took place. Just a little something I think they could've added. Because if I've learned anything from Subnautica and ARK, It's that you can convey a lot of emotion through only hand gestures
That was easily the best adrenaline rush I've felt in a game so far
