Wow. The detail, the accuracy, the storytelling. Wonderful job. I am truly impressed. I could easily see this as a proof of concept for a larger film
I'll never forget the feeling of beating Subnautica. Seeing and hearing all that was said and done.. felt pure adrenaline, eyes watered, covered in goosebumps. And when she said that last line and looked down at the frozen cap on 4546B... dude.. Best ending to a game ever.
I have to agree with you. I truly felt the same way. The Sea Emperor really marked me, and is one of the reasons i will prefer Subnautica 1 to Subnautica 2, even if i'm really grateful they made a sequel
@Bashteur the actual bombed. They literally changed the ENTIRE story at the last second. From beginning to end they changed a bunch of it. Like the rocket. It'd no longer a rocket, just a comms array. The fact that they removed the seamoth made me not wanna play it.

this isn't atlas. it's original old design of cyclops before the current cyclops design.

THOSE ASSETS LOOK LIKE THEY CAME RIGHT OUT OF THE GAME!!! seriously, this level of quality looks like something a professional studio would make! watching the engine turn on, the rocket launch, all the biomes, the seamoth cruising around, let me tell you if they ever make a movie or a TV show of Subnautica they better hire you! I feel like I need to commemorate you in some way because this is an absolutely incredible piece of work. Want me to build you a monument in Sector Zero? I'LL DO IT!

Would you ever think about printing and selling any of the 3D models used in these films?
Where do the music and sound effects come from ? Did you make them yourself ? Did you find them online, royalty-free or paid for them ? Or did you ask/"hire" someone to make them for you ?
(Not the ones taken from the subnautica games, of course. We all know where these come from.)

Holy crap this was amazing! I played Subnautica for the first time years ago. I loved it so much that I still replay it every so often. This was so well made, so accurate, and still took its own approach without straying too much from the original plot. I love this animation, great work. I’m definitely subscribing after this.

I want a real official paramount film about subnautica combining both games like this did
this was… wonderful, the detail, the lighting, the way that the enzyme touching scene had each cell with a bit of the bacterium on it was AMAZING! And all of that in such a short amount of time, I loved this, I want this to be a full blown film, I have to admit

AMAZING VFX!!! I love your editing too, as well as your voice. I just think your storytelling could use some work. I know everyone says this, but "show, don't tell." Obviously I could never make ANYTHING like this, but please consider improving your writing if you want to do something like this project again. ONCE MORE, this is still absolutely insane for a fan film.
First off thanks for the encouragement! And yes I couldn’t agree more, I would’ve loved to reduce the narration however since it’s a fairly short film I needed to put a lot of things into context in such a short time. Haha script writing isn’t my strong suit, I focused the film based around pushing my limits visually. Thanks Mate!

When I played the game I was essentially creating my own narration and story in my head because storytelling always seemed secondary to the world they created. I think you captured this well with your strengths in visual effects. Not every plot point or mystery needs to be explained. You did an amazing job
