Mileena is actually one of the very few playable characters next to Goro and Shang Tsung that were also used as bosses in certain games. Honestly Shao Kahn struck me as the fickle sort, and he basically references his minions or family as some prideful honer thing, him mentioning that Mileena was killed and the killer was in front of him is both insulting to him and it makes it out that D'vorah is trying to be confident and trying to gain dominance so Shao Kahn can't help himself, heck if we're taking all dialogue into consideration here, he later on tells Kitana to her face that had she shown more of her aggressive side when she walked up to him with a bunch of former minions he'd have no need for Mileena on top of saying how he only wanted Jarrod's wife And on top of all that, he's supposed to be in the MK9 mindset so technically, Mileena was still new and had potential as to not disappoint him yet or simply grow on him
I love Mileena, flaws and all. I hated the design of the comic book, as it seemed they made her more "kissable" it takes away from her whole thing imo. She's supposed to be half Tarkatan, it makes no sense. I loved her design in MK9. She looked deranged, unnatural and deadly. As she should.

I've always been confused about how Mileena had lips in MKX, but not in any of the other games before or after. So, having nothing better to do, I came up with a little theory/headcanon. Mileena always had human lips like Kitana, but they were always retracted due to constant battle (it's also possible that the stress from her insecurities made her body so tensed up all the time that her lips weren't able to extend anyway), and it was only until MKX where she had reached a point in her life where she could relax enough for her lips to unfurl. Then D'vorah kills her, and when she comes back in MK11 she's more pissed off than ever, preventing her lips from unfolding again.
@@danhix5005 Not really. She doesnt really trust anyone except her father, not even her creator Shang Tsung. She wouldn't put herself in such a vulnerable position as to allow someone to surgically modify her, and it most certainly wouldn't be for anything as cosmetic as artificial lips. It seems more likely that the lips were there from the beginning, but they're always folded away because of how high-strung she is.

See I don’t know if they have magic healing but you will notice that the Mileena that gets killed by D’vorah her hand that should be burnt and scared is perfectly fine. When playing towers her ending shows that there is many mileena s and that our mileena sent one of the clones to the camp in her place. I like this idea because Mileena is my favorite character and I cried when she died
I have a feeling Mileena is just missing, not gone. Remember what Noob Saibot said to Kitana about her being the queen of the damned? Kitana answered: "That honor is now Mileena's"'. Wasn't she implying that Mileena has now replaced her as leader of the Netherrealm?
Mileena may be a monstrous looking character but is misunderstood; given how Shao Khan wanted an heir of his own he simply had a clone of Kitana made with a mix of Baraka. Mileena wanted to be sisters with Kitana but sadly she couldn't control her ferocity and Kitana pushed her away instead of embracing her. Along with how Kitana was more favorable with Jade which only made Mileena grown more displeased with Kitana since they were "sisters" of such. Plus her death by D'Vorah was rather disturbing and disgusting.
I like to imagine that the restructuring of her face from 9 to X was because she created a clone using better/different means and with all of her memories. That theory would mean the real Mileena was still alive and in hiding, biding her time. At least until the end of 11's story mode, that is.

I've always despised retcon in just about any form, but the idea that Mileena grew up alongside Kitana with a mouth full of razor blades, now that I think about it, makes almost no sense at all. So... ...retconning her into the latecomer she turns out to be in MK9 actually works. Kitana discovers she's being cloned, with the intent to replace her. It actually works. And no, you can't say that's a butterfly effect of Raiden's message back in time; too much of Mileena's old origin precedes the first tournament for that to be possible, so it's absolutely a retcon :P

Mileena always had human lips like Kitana, but they were always retracted due to constant battle (it's also possible that the stress from her insecurities made her body so tensed up all the time that her lips weren't able to extend anyway), and it was only until MKX where she had reached a point in her life where she could relax enough for her lips to unfurl. Then D'vorah kills her, and when she comes back in MK11 she's more pissed off than ever, preventing her lips from unfolding again.
Wouldn't it make more sense that she had a sorcerer make lips for her ya know have a little magical plastic surgery.
@@danhix5005 Not really. She doesnt really trust anyone except her father, not even her creator Shang Tsung. She wouldn't put herself in such a vulnerable position as to allow someone to surgically modify her, and it most certainly wouldn't be for anything as cosmetic as artificial lips. It seems more likely that the lips were there from the beginning, but they're always folded away because of how high-strung she is.

Ehh, agree to disagree. I really dont see any reason why Mileena wouldn't do it if its an easy thing to do. Seems like something any weak sorcerer could do, one that is probably so weak they couldnt really hurt Mileena in a significant way. Not to mention she's been called a monster her whole like and i could see her insecurities pushing her to the point of altering her appearance. She *IS* jealous of her sister after all and don't you think this helps her compete with her pretty sis a little bit better?

Well you also gotta remember, she was queen of all the surviving Kartanans and still had some loyalists who still respected her father(tho we don't see them in game) And it stands to reason she matured somewhat since mk9, She's still ruthless and sycho but she's a bit smarter and more crafty and seemingly more patient(somewhat). I imagine with her leftover underworld pull she could ensnare an unsuspecting sorcerer with promises of fortune and power and then get killed once his services to Mileena are over. What kombatant is gonna care for a shady sorcerer who makes deals with people like Mileena? If it was a magic weilding Kano you better belive no one would! Of course this is all speculation, any random thing could come along and drastically change your appearance in this world...just look at sub-zero! Man went from a normal super powerful ice ninja to a bionicle than back to a ninja for the most randomist of reasons lol.

See I don’t know if they have magic healing but you will notice that the Mileena that gets killed by D’vorah her hand that should be burnt and scared is perfectly fine. When playing towers her ending shows that there is many mileena s and that our mileena sent one of the clones to the camp in her place. I like this idea because Mileena is my favorite character and I cried when she died

Mileena may be a monstrous looking character but is misunderstood; given how Shao Khan wanted an heir of his own he simply had a clone of Kitana made with a mix of Baraka. Mileena wanted to be sisters with Kitana but sadly she couldn't control her ferocity and Kitana pushed her away instead of embracing her. Along with how Kitana was more favorable with Jade which only made Mileena grown more displeased with Kitana since they were "sisters" of such. Plus her death by D'Vorah was rather disturbing and disgusting.

I've always despised retcon in just about any form, but the idea that Mileena grew up alongside Kitana with a mouth full of razor blades, now that I think about it, makes almost no sense at all. So...
...retconning her into the latecomer she turns out to be in MK9 actually works. Kitana discovers she's being cloned, with the intent to replace her. It actually works. And no, you can't say that's a butterfly effect of Raiden's message back in time; too much of Mileena's old origin precedes the first tournament for that to be possible, so it's absolutely a retcon :P
