Hey I can't use my Honeymoon Glow either. I got two bottols in 5 yrs in the boxycharm boxes. I still have one and need to throw out. I know it's a 58 dollar product. I just can't use it. 😕
I think you've summed it up well. Their stuff is, at best... okay. I have the cherry eye cream and it's fine. The Honeymoon Glow Serum seems to have no effect on my skin one way or another, it's fine. But the honey mask stuff, ugh. I do love the jar and the magnetic lid- genius! But the mask itself, in the 10 minutes or whatever it was that it was on my skin, left my face feeling so stripped that it took days of super emollient creams, etc, to restore it to normal. It hurt! Keep the jar, toss that product out!
I would agree the Honey halo moisturizer is moisturizing without the hydration. Can you recommend a moisturizer that is hydrating and moisturizing. My skin is dry and dehydrated. Lucky me.😒
For me personally, I like to get hydration in via the toning or essence step. One of the most hydrating products in my collection is the cosrx propolis toner; another option is the cosrx snail mucin (50% off at ulta tomorrow!)
I liked the idea of that Body Product, but it is very stinky as you said. Tingles a bit as well. I’ll finish it, but I won’t repurchase. I’m thankful I got it in Boxycharm. I do like their Honeymoon Glow and definitely more than the Sunday Riley and Drunk Elephant versions. But my skin is completely unreactive. It’s been rare I’ve had a reaction to anything. Thankful for that to be sure.
I did like the old farmacy honey mask but I like the I'm from honey mask better I see more results and it's way cheaper too. I love the the green clean still haven't found anything I like better hope they don't reformulate that, I'm so sick of the reformulation of products most the time it's not better and I'm super disappointed that the f.. up my Holy grail products. I did really like the filling good serum to not the HA ingredient but I did like the other stuff in it and my skin liked it but yes it's kinda expensive, I would buy it again if I found it onsale for a good price.
Agreed! There are so few “better” reformulations - even if it seems better on paper, I feel like it ends up being not as good (great example: my beloved Rosen vitamin C. I thought the change sounded good, but now it oxidizes quickly 😭😭)
I am highly allergic to any kind of "fragrance"...aromatic, aroma, (etc.) IS fragrance....I do NOT appreciate deceptiveness....but I LOVE your informative videos.
I LOVE the Pharmacy line. I am not sensitive to much, my skin can pretty much take anything. My only problem with Pharmacy has been the Green Clean it burns the crap out of my eyes, I wear contacts so my eyes cam be sensitive but the Green Clean brings it to a new level.. I have funny skin too my T zone is dry and the rest of my face is oily so I use Daily Greens in the morning and Honey Halo at night. My good friend with oily skin always says daily greens is her go to. I'm obsessed with the Daily Green cleanser its my favorite, I use it with my PMD and I'm always sad when I don't have it. I also adore the Honey Grail oil. The Fellin Good serum was not for me and I was very disappointed with the cheer up eye cream it did nothing for me, I was VERY disappointed, at these price points I want to see results. The Honeymoon Glow Body smells Soooooo bad! This is one instance they should of put fragrance in. It sucks I keep trying to finish it up by putting it only on the backs of my arms and then lathering up inside Strawberry lotion everywhere else to get rid of the smell BUT everytime I start to sweat I smell it, sadly I think it will be thrown in the garbage. Nice to know it's not just me.
Oh that’s called a reverse T-zone!! You’re not alone at all - it’s very much a thing! I wonder if clearly clean would solve the problem of sensitive eyes? I’ve seen quite a few people report this problem (not just with green clean, but any scented cleansing balm).
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I might give the clearly clean a go if I can snag a sample. Reverse T- zone (sounds like Karma Sutra lol, j/k ) thank you for telling now I have a name for it.
Same thing with me with green clean! I will say I can use the cherry & apple version and don’t have an issue with my eyes with those. I haven’t tried the clearly clean because along with the no fragrance they also took out the polyethylene -& ive heard from others that it doesn’t clean their face quite as well as the original, presumably due to that
Snail mucin day tomorrow at Ulta - I’m gonna try it again thanks to you! Haha ,.. I know what u mean about “fine” , that was all cool when I was 23-29.... then.... at 31.... u just need..... the most potent stuff in the best layered way otherwise yeah nothin happens haha😏
I'm wondering if these products are properly stabilised because many don't seem to contain preservatives or anti-microbial ingredients. It could explain the strange textures and smell. Another TH-camr who reviewed this brand found a human hair at the bottom of the jar of a Farmacy moisturiser. Not sure about this brand's quality control...
See?!?! I'm confused again. I got that Whipped Greens Cleanser from Farmacy, In a Boxy Charm. I have normal/combo skin, but that cleanser sits unused under my bathroom sink. And I side-eye it Everytime I reach for a Q-tip. Because each time I tried it, my face had that "tight" uncomfortable feeling just minutes after my shower. Like, I couldn't get to my Elf Holy Hydration fast enough! Quite literally, I smeared Body Butter on my face one morning, because that "tight" feeling came on so fast and intense, that as I was applying the body butter on my legs, I had to get SOMETHING on my face. The cleanser leaves no residue, but my gosh!!! It felt like it sucked ALL natural moisture from my face. Specially my nose and forehead.
Oh wow, hmm. Do you happen to have dehydrated skin? That skin concern does require a rather different set of products entirely (look for “barrier-boosting” claims). The good news is that it’s a concern rather than skin type, so it can be corrected!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Dang it! Your right. I always for get and get that confused....I'm combo, with "mature and dehydrated skin". I always tell my boss "I run on caffeine & loyalty" and on that note...I'll I'll excuse my self and go drink a bottle of water. Or 6. Is there anything else I should use topical for dehydrated skin? Or is it solved simply by drinking more H2O?
Green clean and deep sweep are the only products I've loved from them. I need to try whipped greens, it does sound fun, I get what you are saying. The honeymoon glow and old honey halo both burnt my skin so bad, I tried them 3 or 4 times just to make sure lol🙄 but I can only leave them on for like a minute and I'm on fire
The thing I hate the most about that “face on fire” feeling isn’t even the initial pain. It’s that the second I feel that, I KNOW I’m going to deal with bad breakouts in a few days 😭😭
Feel the same about the body serum … got mine in TrendMood box too … not a fan. I really do love their toner and their lightweight honey moisturizer!!!
Ohhh I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I’ve heard Honey Drop is next to be DCed? I hope that’s not true, but I’ve seen Farmacy DC so many of their products 😭😭
@@AliceintheRabbitHole … thanks for heads up but no biggie Farmacy Lightweight Honey Drop Moisturizer is nice, but also really love Biossance Squalane + Probiotic Gel Moisturizer, PTR Water Drench Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer, Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream, & Skinfix Barrier+ Triple Lipid-Peptide Face Cream - a girls gotta have options lol ☮️🧡
Now that’s a smart plan! Very much agree too; you never know when a product will become unavailable. But we do know - these companies are constantly duping each other LOL!
Ole Jimmy Buffet song my head hurts my feet stink lol I like the mask. But like you can find k brands like better also your opinion on best mature skin night moisturizer ???
I’m inclined to answer the Ghost Democracy Cocoon Cream, factoring in how important disclosure is to me - although I just started using the Real Barrier Extreme Cream (again lol), and whew - that’s a good contender! Both are very thick!!
the honeymoon glow burned my neck and left it scaly and peeling the first time i used it (honestly should've just binned the samples i got because i know my skin doesn't always do great with glycolic, i can only do low levels but there was no disclosure of percentage so i assumed it may have been low enough for me to use), but overall i've never been too impressed with farmacy products and tend to find better alternatives, especially from korean brands, the honeymoon glow surprised me because im generally very resilient when it comes to exfoliants, but i've noticed a recurring theme of glycolic not working for me and actually making my skin react badly
Same for me with glycolic acid. I suspect it’s due to the smaller molecular size of GA vs lactic, mandelic, etc- it certainly ups the intensity, and my skin doesn’t do the best with high intensity! Any chance you’ve tried the DDG alpha beta peel? That’s a huge exception for me - but alas, also no disclosure on the breakdown of the acids 😞
@@AliceintheRabbitHole the Dr Dennis Gross pads are one of the few glycolic products i can use!!!! i have oily, acne-prone skin at baseline so my go to exfoliant is the Chemist Confessions The Specialist (18% mandelic, 2% salicylic, 5% niacinamide), i've also really been enjoying the Glo Skin Beauty Hydra Bright Pro 5 Liquid Exfoliant, which is higher in mandelic and lactic, but also has gluconic acid and niacinamide, and it's done wonders for me, i swear by mandelic acid, although i would say for oily, acne-prone skin like mine mandelic works best in combination with salicylic acid
Personally (and likely because of my skin type), what I like to do is this: cleanser, hydrating toner and/or essence, treatment serum (for acne), and emollient moisturizer. You definitely could do a hydrating serum instead though, but I’ll have better recs for toners/essences because of how I use products So my toner/essence picks: Cosrx propolis toner or snail essence, Dr Ceuracle kombucha essence, indie Lee coq10
I still don’t understand why people don’t put 2 and 2 together when they read aroma/fragrance/essential oil/perfume… same effect isn’t? I loved the travel size I got from the honey halo
For me, Farmacy has a lot of faves but also a lot of mehs. I do think they’re trying to weed out the mehs- but then they end up replacing them with further meh products & not really getting any better 😆 What I do like about Farmacy is yes it’s pricier- but they also have frequent really good discounts on their website. Plus they have larger sizes on some of their stuff to save money, so that along with 30% off and I’m paying the same price per ounce as some of the cheaper options 🤷♀️ I’ve even seen 40% off although those are a little more rare
So... I may be caught up on the verbiage because lawyer, and I may be assuming too much by thinking the company is following the rules, but are you sure that fragrance and flavor refer to the same set of ingredients? I looked up 21 CFR 703.1(a) and it states of course that neither flavors or fragrance need to be listed to protect trade secrets which may lead someone to assume they're interchangeable, but it also says that "an ingredient which is both fragrance and flavor shall be designated by each of the functions it performs" and also that "no ingredient may be designated as fragrance or flavor unless it is within the meaning of such term as commonly understood by consumers." It doesn't make a ton of sense that you'd have to label both fragrance and flavor unless they were intended to mean different things. Even if someone were to assume wiggle room in using the word "aroma" rather than fragrance, the law is generally pretty strict about wording and both words are defined in 21 CFR 700.3 "fragrance" in 700.3(d) and "flavor" in 700.3(c) (the definitions are "The term flavor means any natural or authentic substance or substances used solely to impact a taste to a cosmetic product" and "The term fragrance means any natural or authentic substance or substances used solely to impact a n odor to a cosmetic product."). It's possible there's case law permitting an overlap of the term "aroma" with fragrance, but even in that case I'd think use of the word "flavor" would require that the additives involves be impactful on the taste of a product. If that's the case could it follow that all aroma (flavor) ingredients must at a minimum fall into the category of being something edible? This does nothing of course to eliminate the fact that there could be a lot of ingredients hiding behind that one word, and we have no idea of knowing what they are (which may be your entire point), but it could also alleviate some concern about the general safety of such ingredients to some. I do of course realize edible does not mean it will not cause a sensitivity or allergic reaction., just now curious about the legal implications
Whoa this is interesting, thank you for sharing! What I know about aroma (bearing in mind I’m more on the research side, less food science/development) is that it’s used to protect those good old trade secrets. Hence why I conclude it’s similar to fragrance-same issues of “but what lies within that word” indeed! However, what is especially curious is that we don’t see it used directly in place of fragrance from other companies. So there must be something more going on! I did notice it’s only in the honey products, so I’m assuming it’s honey flavors specifically-But still, why? These products aren’t made to eat, so what’s the purpose? It’s really a perplexing approach 🤔
We're clearly overly thinking the whole thing and don't realize Farmacy made honey to spread on toast. Notice pore filling it is leaving the toast's skin looking very smooth and dewy.
I've pretty much avoided fragrance even before I knew there was a whole "thing" about it because I can choose/wear my own perfume. Aroma just makes me think the company is trying to be cute or hide something, neither of which I'd be inclined to appreciate. As for the natural/clean companies that claim fragrance free, you still have to watch them because they just claim they aren't using "synthetic" fragrance but are still using flower/fruit extracts or essential oils.
YES! Essential oils just don’t do my face any favors! I still just cannot understand how citrus oils belong in skincare …the same essential oils found in cleaning products ….I just can’t! Most essential oils do more harm than good, cause sensitivity &/or reactions ….nope!
Tbh I think synthetic fragrance carries less risk, at least for those with allergies. It’s very hard to predict natural ingredients as their composition, including scent molecules, varies in nature
I think Caroline Hurons is the only person in the skincare world who has talked about triple cleansing. Eye makeup remover, and then double cleanse .I love how the honey moon glow and filling good feel and layer but the honey moon glow but somehow my skin does not get along with them anymore .
I love her; she’s so underrated these days, and yet she’s been a tremendous influence on what the skincare community is today. AND she’s the only influencer I can think of who started a charity instead of a brand All right I’m done stanning hahaha. Thanks for sharing!
Price has so much to do with my overall opinion of a product that's just "fine" things need to be WORTH the higher price tag. I LOVE most Farmacy products, the Honey Potion, the new Niacinamide Sleep Mask, the Honey Halo but I DO not like Honeymoon Glow either it irritated my skin and I can handle some acids!! I REALLY Liked the Filling Good so I'm glad you mentioned Korean alternatives!
i really dislike using "aroma" instead of "fragrance" because it makes it much more difficult to find fragrance free products, and it feels really idk insidious - if they wanted to sell to more people just dont put fragrance in it, or put it in and accept that not everyone will buy your product. also about the whole 10% niacinamide thing i honestly think its because the oridnarys niacinamide serum got so popular and it has 10 percent so everyone has just been copying that instead of making their own thing, like literally every beauty brand has a 10% niacinamide serum nowadays
Hahaha...THAT SMELL THOUGH 😂 IKR. Good grief. I do use that 'serum' on my back with good results but there is an amount of retching accompanying application 😂😂
I absolutely love the sleep mask! I bought the large size before even trying it. I researched the ingredients and I was sold. I use this mask on nights I use a strong mask or I layer it over my tlc famboos. So I probably use it 4 days a week. It has smoothed my texture and soothed my skin. I agree with the honeymoon glow. I'm not a fan of that either. It broke me out. Great video!!!
Aren't allergies complicated.. Very complex. I've learnt that there are a few fragranced products I tolerate..kopari is yummy for sure and i enjoy using those body products. On the face Im hit or miss but wash off products seem to be ok. I personally think fragrance should be labelled clearly.. Id actually like some help identifying what components i actually cant cope with but i also realise that may just be too complicated. There is indeed a problem with misinformation out there and its forcing companies to adapt.. But i guess those who truly suffer out of all this are those with medical needs or sensitivity. The only answer for us is to play it safe and shop with another brand I guess.
I still feel like the best solution is what elf did with their moisturizers: make a scented version for those who love a nice smell, and make a fully fragrance-free version for those with sensitivities. It seems so clear-cut, although I do recognize the problem is that means developing and stocking 2x versions of each option but…🥺🥺 it solves so many problems!!
The use of the word aroma makes me roll my eyes. I guess it's not as deceptive as when bakuchoil products advertise themselves as retinol products. Still, not a fan. Also, now I want tacos. Huh, I feel like my nose is in line with yours but I still have to ask, what does Ara think of the smell of the body serum?
Retinolly. Retinoishhh. Urgh I’m still mad about that 😆 Okay so I just asked her, and I wish I could type out whatever facial expression that was as it was a glorious face of disapproval 🤣 the summary was “flowers, honey, and now I want to vomit”. I guess she does not like it either bahaha
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Bahaha! Ok, sounds like I can declutter that then. Thank you and thank Ara for helping me with my spring cleaning and keeping me smelling good! 💜💜💜

The fragrance thing was something I didn’t understand until I discovered all these TH-cam skincare channels. Particularly Dr. Dray. I thought natural fragrance was ok. I have melasma so I was educated by her about this. So now I don’t use anything on my face that has “aroma” or anything of that nature on my face. I’ve been brainwashed ! But in a good way , lol
Yep, so many brands jumped on this, “it’s not fragrance, it’s NATURAL fragrance” thing! Which I’d argue is a worse choice for allergy/irritation-prone skin - it’s much harder to predict!

Oh wow, new version or old? Regardless, I’m From Honey mask all the way for me haha
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I'm guessing old because it's been a year or maybe 2 (I'm not really sure, what is time anymore?). It came in a Boxycharm box.
You are so fortunate! The hardest lesson for me to learn was that what my nose likes, my face may not like 😱
I did like the old farmacy honey mask but I like the I'm from honey mask better I see more results and it's way cheaper too.
Did u see Versed has a new milky cleanser and 8t says it's good for dry acne prone skin actually looks pretty intriguing.
😱 whoa, checking this out now, thanks for the heads up!!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole no problem chick. Did u see Lord Jones made a mini of their CBD cream we love so much
I am highly allergic to any kind of "fragrance"...aromatic, aroma, (etc.) IS fragrance....I do NOT appreciate deceptiveness....but I LOVE your informative videos.
Yeah, it does have a tricky feel to it huh!
Alice plz make video on updated review of glow recipe
We are all tired today too. I like this time better. Wish it would stay this way!❌⭕
Exactly! Just leave the time alone - so much better for our circadian rhythms lol!
I got that Whipped Greens Cleanser from Farmacy,
In a Boxy Charm.
I always tell my boss
"I run on caffeine & loyalty" and on that note...I'll I'll excuse my self and go drink a bottle of water.
Ole Jimmy Buffet song my head hurts my feet stink lol
I like the mask.
@@AliceintheRabbitHole the Dr Dennis Gross pads are one of the few glycolic products i can use!!!! i have oily, acne-prone skin at baseline so my go to exfoliant is the Chemist Confessions The Specialist (18% mandelic, 2% salicylic, 5% niacinamide), i've also really been enjoying the Glo Skin Beauty Hydra Bright Pro 5 Liquid Exfoliant, which is higher in mandelic and lactic, but also has gluconic acid and niacinamide, and it's done wonders for me, i swear by mandelic acid, although i would say for oily, acne-prone skin like mine mandelic works best in combination with salicylic acid
some things have an aroma. If you put honey on your face, expect it to smell like honey.
I scheduled major surgery for this week because I know the time change was going to screw my body up so bad I might as well do two birds, one stone.
I like the way you think! Hope your surgery/recovery moves swiftly!
Can you talk about dr g royal honey and snail line ❤
So given that you find the honey halo to be moisturizing and not hydrating would you recommend a hydrating serum underneath it? Any recommendations?
Personally (and likely because of my skin type), what I like to do is this: cleanser, hydrating toner and/or essence, treatment serum (for acne), and emollient moisturizer. You definitely could do a hydrating serum instead though, but I’ll have better recs for toners/essences because of how I use products
So my toner/essence picks: Cosrx propolis toner or snail essence, Dr Ceuracle kombucha essence, indie Lee coq10
I am not in love with Cheer up. I prefer so many others for the price. I used it up. Won't repurchase. ❌⭕
I still don’t understand why people don’t put 2 and 2 together when they read aroma/fragrance/essential oil/perfume… same effect isn’t? I loved the travel size I got from the honey halo
Definitely! Perhaps because people might not catch it if they’re intentionally skimming FOR the word fragrance? But I truly don’t get it 😫
For me, Farmacy has a lot of faves but also a lot of mehs.
Definitely! I’ve caught some of their excellent sales in the past. They do have great deals!
Great reviews as always. Have a great week ❌ ⭕
You too! 🥰
I do enjoy Daily Greens. Oily girl here!❌⭕
I think Caroline Hurons is the only person in the skincare world who has talked about triple cleansing.
AND she’s the only influencer I can think of who started a charity instead of a brand
All right I’m done stanning hahaha. Thanks for sharing!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I know , I love her so much. I think she is coming out with her brand in the next couple of years. I’m so excited 😆
10% niacinamide works for me. I don’t see any difference in my (oily, acne-prone) skin with lower levels.
Exactly! I’ll pay a premium for a product that’s worth it, but if it’s just fine - I get annoyed lol!
i really dislike using "aroma" instead of "fragrance" because it makes it much more difficult to find fragrance free products, and it feels really idk insidious - if they wanted to sell to more people just dont put fragrance in it, or put it in and accept that not everyone will buy your product. also about the whole 10% niacinamide thing i honestly think its because the oridnarys niacinamide serum got so popular and it has 10 percent so everyone has just been copying that instead of making their own thing, like literally every beauty brand has a 10% niacinamide serum nowadays
It does feel like brands are constantly copying each other. I personally get more excited when I see innovative products!
Hahaha...THAT SMELL THOUGH 😂 IKR. Good grief.
I do use that 'serum' on my back with good results but there is an amount of retching accompanying application 😂😂
It is ROUGH lol!!
Cant wait for isintree :)
That one is going to be huge LOL. I’ve gotta work out how I’ll try all the different toners 🤔
@@AliceintheRabbitHole yep, totally agree x
The use of the word aroma makes me roll my eyes. I guess it's not as deceptive as when bakuchoil products advertise themselves as retinol products. Still, not a fan.
Also, now I want tacos.
Huh, I feel like my nose is in line with yours but I still have to ask, what does Ara think of the smell of the body serum?
Retinolly. Retinoishhh. Urgh I’m still mad about that 😆
Okay so I just asked her, and I wish I could type out whatever facial expression that was as it was a glorious face of disapproval 🤣 the summary was “flowers, honey, and now I want to vomit”. I guess she does not like it either bahaha
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Bahaha! Ok, sounds like I can declutter that then. Thank you and thank Ara for helping me with my spring cleaning and keeping me smelling good! 💜💜💜
Niacinamide makes my skin burn in most formulations. I’d never try 10%z
Oh man, smell is such an interesting thing. I bought the elemis cleanser because everyone was talking about the smell and I couldn’t use it for a while as I couldn’t stand the smell :( Got used to it over time 🙈
Ohhh nooo haha, yeah I actually love that smell. And it’s quite strong - they should do scent samples in the same way as perfumes 😆
If I paid $45 for eye it better work amazing.
Exactly! That’s not a small amount of cash lol
I think fragrance is important. I don't like deception. I am not deceived. Some will be.❌⭕
I try to avoid products that have fragrance It’s unnecessary and can cause problems.
Sounds like lawmakers are finally actually talking seriously about ending daylight savings time. There’s some debate about effects dealing w/ countries that do practice it that we do business w/ and some other dumb arguments.
Gosh I hope so. We don’t need to keep doing it in modern times!
Definitely!!!
Same with natural deodorants. Ugh.
They should discontinue the AHA body care. It is awful. I can't even use it on my feet! Nope..❌⭕
