Whether Swing..Ballads..Blues...Rock..even..and especialy C & W..you are, and always be..The Maestro..!!.. Miss you, Bobby...Miss you...
I have always been a devoted Elvis fan,, still am but after reading that Bobby Darin was his all time favourite singer and performer,I began to listen to Bobby ,,, What a revelation He is pure magic, I love every song he sings.
Hi, i am just the same as you a dedicated Elvis fan who found Bobby through Elvis. I thought Roy Hamilton was Elvis' favourite singer but agree with you, Bobby as a performer. I agree, having now found Bobby, he is the master and i too love every song i've heard to date. He was soooo good.
Man! I remember seeing that as a kid and thinking Bobby Darin was it. My friends were all about Led Zeppelin and the Beatles - but Darin was the God to me.
I'm 64years old (I was born on August 6th,1960) now and l still listening 🎶 😌 👌 ✨️ 😪 ❤️ all these entertainers who have style 😉 😜 😀 🤔 😎 🤣 just like 👍 👌 😀 😉 🤔 😳 👍 👌 😀 😉 🤔 😳 Bobby Darin 🤔 🤣 😉 😆 😀 😄!
For a man with a chronically damaged heart since childhood and just month away from his early, premature demise this 1-derful emtertainer shows unbelievable energy in this number. It was as if he knew the end was so near that he had to hurry and sing all those songs. I was born in 1958 and remember my mother had that LP with so many of his hits, Splish Splash, Artificial Flowers, Clementine, etc. Loved that he warns that side A is ending and the needle was going to crash into the label, then sound effects simulating a collision were heard, my brothers and I had a ball laughing at that. Bendiciones desde San Juan PR.
Thanks to Kevin Spacey for reminding me just how great Bobby was. I watched "Beyond the Sea" last night.. again... and had to see some original Bobby Darin video. Wow! I'm so sorry I never got to see him in person. I saw Sinatra, Dean, Sammy, Tony, Ella, etc etc... but I really missed something with Bobby. Thanks for posting this. He was a complete artist... and always with a great band behind him.
This is one of my favourite Bobby Darin songs and he puts his heart, soul and 1,000 percent into it….. Bobby the master of his own destiny, master of his own music career, with a God given talents that no other person has ever come anywhere close to nor will they ever….. In Bobby's short life he achieved all he set out to do and then some, leaving everyone else in his wake….. Bobby put his own stamp on each and every song he sang making it his own….. Bobby the genius, the man who saw his future and made it all happen sooner rather not finishing what he started…. Knowing his life was to be far too short Bobby ran non stop with his dreams and goals held tight and made sure every minute counted and ticking off each of his goals as he went….. Bobby was never brash nor arrogant, but he was this awesome young man on his own life's mission that had to be completed in life before time won out and took Bobby from this life….. Bobby Darin the man who sang with this wonderful rich warm mature emotion, soul and heart in his voice, he moved with such soul, his energy and enthusiasm was infectious which has endeared him to this very day to his adoring fans around the world….. Bobby Darin is the greatest recording and performing artist this world has had the opportunity and privilege to witness…… I am grateful Bobby had this driven desire to share his multi-talents with the world around him…. Bobby the man with the huge heart always thinking of others, helping others to find their own star, giving till it hurt and never giving up when his health was making life difficult for him….. Even when his health was so bad and he felt he could't go on Bobby never gave in to it, rather upon stepping out onto that stage or in front of the camera Bobby became a changed man and gave 1,000 percent of himself….. Bobby's motto, 'Always give every bit of yourself, never leave the smallest detail out, most of all be honest of yourself to your fans and audiences for they are the ones that have got you to where you are today'….. Bobby Darin had entertaining embedded deep within his soul, he lived and breathed music from a very early age and that is what made him tick, it kept him going for so long and he out lived his fear that he wouldn't make it much past 16 years…. In fact Bobby lived for another 20 years, 7 months and 6 days…. I will love Bobby forever more and treasure his memory, he will always remain my hero…… WHAT AN AWESOME LIFE, WHAT AN AWESOME CAREER, WHAT A GREAT HUMAN BEING, WHAT A HUGE LEGACY…. BOBBY DID IT ALL, HAD IT ALL, AND GAVE TILL IT HURT……. GOD BLESS YOU BOBBY FOR GIVING US SUCH WONDERFUL MEMORIES TO REMEMBER YOU BY…… REST IN PEACE BOBBY !!
H Edith!! Really love Bobby..wish he were still here..I need to see that funny little 2 step he used to do. Can't seem to find it on any vids onTH-cam!! Any ideas? Cheers, Marilyn..
Incredible! Simple Incredible. I grew up in Detroit w/ the Motown Sound which I did enjoy but I also enjoyed Frank S, Sammie D, Dean M, Tony B, but Bobby was incredible. Thanks for posting this video.!
my pleasure. Bobby Darin has been one of my favorite performers for years. I love this version; it is better than the original song by stevie wonder in my opinion.
WOW!!! You knocked it out of the ballpark Bobby. If I was in that audience there's know way I'm not getting up and dancing with him. He had more energy and enthusiasm then someone with a healthy heart. Darin had the greatest gift of all.....heart & soul. Are greatest artist.
His energy and stamina is simply amazing, considering his failing health. It is also interesting to watch the guitarist just behind him, the one with the chin whiskers, who really gets into the beat of the songs Bobby does, like this one, that have a fast tempo!
I would respectfully disagree that this interpretation is "better" than Stevie's. It's "freight trained," or sped-up tempo wise at a pretty good clip, but that doesn't necessarily detract from the song, just different. James Jamerson's bass line on Stevie's version just may be THE masterpiece from a muscial genius. Simply stunning. That being said, Bobby's band...WOW! Those cats were badass! But you had to be to back up a perfomer as great as Bobby was. He never ceases to amaze. One of a kind.
I don't particularly like this song sung up-beat, but that was Bobby's favorite style. Though he was good, however he presented a song. Great talent, great entertainer.
Joe Turnbull's BaitWorld No they aren't but in order to keep up with Bobby Darin and his steeltrap mind, talent, singing, they had to be the quickest to improvise and basically be in his league.
Always followed Bobbys songs as a teen up to 73' when he died. some occasions as on this recording- Too fast! you can blow it too. Give credit where credit is due. Being a real romantic ( and prob OTP) I'd have preferred him sing this at a much slower tempo. we can't knock the likes of Sinatra, Davis Jnr, Martin, Tormae, cole, Munro, Buble' etc, etc. different versions have different affects on people according to our personality. I don't like Every song all these artists have sung on their CDs or albums. But I have a great love and admiration for all of them. But I think Mr Buble' near perfected it, after listening to previous variations on songs, putting his own spin on them, keeping the big band sound, decreasing the tempo where Very Necessary. Lyrics decide how the mood of the tempo must be.This is just my opinion.
At 74 my heart still does a little flip hearing Bobby Darin sing. No matter how hard others try to sing his songs they will never succeed. ❤️❤️❤️
The same here about Bobby Darin and 64years old now in 2024!

He needed O2 off stage and then he comes out and performes like this. Amazing.
Once Bobby gives a touch to a song, nobody does it better. :)
He just loved to sing, and did all styles...his enthusiam was so catching and I think that was what made him so unique.

Darin seemed to be getting better in leaps and bounds as he gradually loosened up. A great loss.

Eternamente maravilloso, entendible en todos los idiomas y disfrutable en todos los oidos!! Great! Great!! Great!!
Thank you for this, it's great. It was originally written with a slow tempo, written for Barbara McNair. But Bobby did it better than anyone!
This is crazy good! Darin is amazing and he pushes that incredible band with the samba! Wow!
You can tell this was from his TV show. I was looking forward to his next season over the holidays when I heard the news of his death. How sad I was.

The only one who can sing a Stevie Wonder song 🎵 😍 🎶 ❤️ 💕 😩 is of course besides Stevie Wonder is Bobby Darin and Sammy Davis,Jr.!
thank you so much
Bobby was so much better than Sinatra. He gave his all and if he hadn't died so young Sinatra wouldn't have been so big. Bobby would have been bigger.
A good son of the Bronx, NY
🎼♥️🎶♥️🎵
Did I mention how absolutely Cheeky you were, Bobby...??
There are a ton of clips with same outfits, is this from a DVD?
It’s from the ‘Mack is Back’ DVD that’s packed with extras and is available on eBay and Amazon.
Is the band on speed????? Good god?!!
Joe Turnbull's BaitWorld No they aren't but in order to keep up with Bobby Darin and his steeltrap mind, talent, singing, they had to be the quickest to improvise and basically be in his league.
Hell Back then Maybe or totally bored .
OFFS. No the band isn't on speed. It is a percussion band. Unlike the synthesizers we have now. What do you think about Opera?????
Bobby Darin died only a short time after this amazing performance What an amazing singer and performer he truly was!
That is the busiest, craziest arrangement I've ever heard

His only problem was that he ran out of clock he was better than Sinatra
I think given time he would have been one of best singers of all time in america lovely man
What a sad sad ending never know how long you've got make most of what you have got. Man was a genius
@@brodiedeakin4493 he was
@diegotirrat I agree with you as far as Buble is concerned. He's nothing but a glorified karaoke singer. His Sinatra covers are terrible.
I prefer the Frank Sinatra version. It's more emotional.
Actually Tony Bennett did the original...
Actually the lovely Barbara McNair was the first one to formally record it for Motown in 1965. Tony Benett had a minor hit. w it in 1967 !!
