Worst decision of my life to get my gallbladder removed. We need it. Do all you can to improve your eating habits and your health. Our bodies have an amazing ability to heal. So try to avoid having parts cut out. There’s so much stuff out there posing as food, but it really isn’t.
Sometimes it just has to come out, as it gets infected all the time from stones blocking the bile duct. Unfortunately specialists / hospitals won't generally just remove stones except in specific cases, they'll remove the gallbladder as a permanent solution. You can live without the thing, but you DO have to adjust diet (more fibre helps for sure).
I understand ur point for 2 years I managed my gallbladder pain through healthier eating habits. For some time it worked and my body was getting better. But one day I had a very bad gallbladder attack out of nowhere. It lasted for 6 hours and I was puking blood. I ended up having surgery even though I could’ve avoided that situation if I’d removed it earlier.
I have a small bowel obstruction just under where my top laparoscopic gallbladder scar is. They have FINALLY determined that it is a small bowel obstruction that painfully flares up from time to time, (about 3x a year since my surgery more than 15 years ago) when doctors told me they couldn’t for 15 years figure out what was causing me pain. So it’s been recently determined that it is directly underneath my laparoscopic scar. And yet, I cannot get anyone to admit that this is a likely situation that it was caused by my healing from laparoscopic gallbladder surgery. Even though I have a herniated muscle in the exact place as well. I can’t imagine why they continue to say (even laugh and say) that it is unrelated to the surgery location and they need to “discover the cause“ of my small bowel obstruction (come in again during an attack for another scan since there is no apparent physical blockage in my intestine). This has been since i was 19 and I’m exhausted. I swear it’s like no one will listen to me. Thank you SO much for this video! I knew it had to be possible!!
Sometimes with abdominal surgeries you can get things that were operated on sticking to each other when they heal, like the bowel wall sticking to abdominal wall or the membrane in the abdominal cavity with scar tissue, there is a medical term for it (adhesions I think). If it causes problems, they can perform a small surgery to cut it loose again. I know a woman who had that happen from a caesarian as they got too carried away and the bowel attached to the membrane, got obstructed / infected and caused major issues, and had to be shortened.
Same here dude. Crippling pain, 8-9/10 for the last 3.5 years and just now doctors are really getting around to investiging whether or not its related to my gallbladder surgery. I got every blanket diagnosis imaginable. "IBS" was the worst one, as its entirely just a cop out. Getting ultrasounds and CT scans done, and regardless of what they find Im getting an exploratory surgery done. I can live in this much pain for the rest of my life. From the age of 32 to 35 I have spent most of it in bed with crippling pain, when before hand I was a high performing self taught telemetry engineer and small business owner. I have been on work from home orders for 2 years and thankfully my business is a close friend that I trust greatly. They understand that I am to the point that I will disembowel myself in the hospital parking lot and they will have to solve the problem regardless. This problem WILL get solved.

To the person who had laparoscopic surgery pain afterwards, the doctors are supposed to leave drainage tubes in for a short time to drain the gas that was put into your stomach to inflate it for the surgery. If that gas isn’t expelled properly it is a terrible feeling, making you feel like you can’t pass gas or belch and it’s the most uncomfortable thing I have ever known. In the future make sure you tell the doctors in the surgery room to make sure all the gas is expelled before they remove those tubes.
It's CO2 they inflate you with, it usually causes referred intense shoulder pain for a while until it's absorbed/expelled, as the body signals pain from the abdomen / liver area there for some reason.

Can anyone explain post gallbladder removal surgery, I had mine in 2018 me ever since then I’ve had weird bowl movements issues. My case is the throughout the day (especially in the morning) once I’ve had my meal I NEED to use the bathroom about 10-15 minutes later and immediately or else, also my bowl movements are weird because I take a while in the bathroom as it doesn’t all come out at once and sometimes I’m in the bathroom for 30 minutes and sometimes even more. I’ve learned to work around it but it’s still extremely annoying especially when I go out.
I had my gall bladder removed 2021 a few months after I started experiencing episodes of severe pain in my stomach, vomiting bile. They would eventually pass but some attacks would last 8 hours and then I would be sore and not well for days. Fast forward to now I was in extreme pain and couldn’t go to the toilet. Went to the hospital and they diagnosed me with small bowel obstruction due to adhesions from previous surgery’s. I had to have open bowel surgery to remove 6 inches of my small bowel.
I had my gb surgery in 26th of last month June, for first 3 weeks everything was very nice and good, ,but from last 3 , 4 days ,i am having watery stool, don't know why this happening
How long can this go on? Can it start up randomly. My husband had his removed at 13. Anything and everything was wrong with it. His mom had to push for the testing. The hospital here is horrible. He is 34 now. He spends 30 to 1 hour in the bathroom. Every now and then it is quick. He has constipation and diarrhea. Sometimes separately. Sometimes in the same bowel movement. Most of the time the bowel movement is urgent. It happens almost every time he poops. He has to poop every morning, but it is always diarrhea. He can rarely get up without it gurgling. It smells so bad that it can go through to the next room. He says it feels like acid most days, his stomach hurts. Fiber does nothing. It varies from light brown to yellow. Some foods/drinks do make it worse, but I think it affects the smell. It does seem greasy, when he has diarrhea. Most days are diarrhea. He has horrible gas. Silent and also loud and forceful. He has even woken himself up, and he has sleep apnea. He has a huge appetite, but it’s at meal times and usually when he has been active or worked hard at his physical job. He is 5,10 and 250/260. His weight did double since highschool but he did end up with a sit down job. His muscle density and strength is the same and has endurance. he has a hard time losing weight and cutting back on portions. It has gotten progressively worse over ten years. I don’t remember him being like this in highschool 17 years ago. Our oldest transglutenese number of 281 and his first cousins daughter has Celiac disease. Our youngest son has Lactose enzyme number 2 and Sucrase deficiency enzyme number 22. The GI just wants to add Fiber. Our Celiac just had an obstruction and had a NG tube last April and if both children (X-rays in July) do not show improvement soon. They both may have to have an NG tube. Many of the symptoms were of our children. I think it’s the obstruction or celiac but blood work is normal. Scope and bloodwork minus transglutenese was normal on celiac but it was a fresh diagnosis. Is a obstruction possible. Celiac kid had that. That was his diarrhea/constipation issue? Should we see a GI. I feel like this GI is dismissive. He seems to dismiss me to once he found out I have anxiety and depression.
That’s exactly what happened to me! I had volvulus that suddenly happened and my intestines were tied into a knot and cut off blood supply which caused sepsis. They were tied so tight that the surgeon could not physically pull them apart…they were cut and sewn back together. I am so lucky to be alive. I thank God everyday. Now I fear it happening again. My surgeon says he can never say never to anything medically, but that the odds of the volvulus that bad to cause sepsis would be extremely rare to happen twice. He did say because of scar tissue I need to be careful with bowel movements making sure I stay normal and don’t get severely constipated. I’m so worried.
Hi Buck, I wrote subtitles for the hard of hearing on this video a year ago, since the automatic TH-cam ones are very hard to understand and full of mistakes when you speak fast. They are still awaiting your review though. Would you be able to publish them?
I had robotics surgery removed gallbladder. I don’t need to stay in the hospital. After 2 weeks no pains. If you have pains, you need to removed gallbladder. In the future you will have infections. My sister in law never have pain in her stomach, suddenly in the Morning she has severe pain and vomiting. She went to er found out her gallbladder infection and appendix. She have laparoscopic surgery removed both organs. We have different holes on the stomach.
I got mine out on nov 11. The air is normal because of the gaz they put in there to be able to work inside. My first surgery was bad this one ok. Took some gaz med really helped. Walking will help you if you can. Sleeping in an almost sitting position will help to. Good luck
I had my gallbladder removed in 2010. I've had this thick stuff that comes up into my esophagus and it is painful and I feel so much pressure. I have been taking Prilosec and trying to avoid trigger foods but it seems like anything triggers it lately.
Avoid seed oils, and eating at night (strangely animal fats don't seem as bad), bile seems to struggle with breaking down seed oils, remember our bodies never truly adapted to them as seed oils are quite modern. Had better results with Pariet 10mg for GERD / reflux, check with your GP / doctor.
I am 69. In December 2021 I had undergone gallbladder removal surgery through Laparoscopic surgery. After the surgery I am facing constipation, gas (farting) problem, bloating, improper digestion. Now vision problem started. Could you please guide me about diet and solution to get rid of the cited problems?
I'd say more fibre, eating some bread etc. within reason, can help with better bowel movements. The issue is that the gallbladder constantly produces bile that is dumped into the small intestine, as it's no longer warehoused in the gallbladder for release when you eat a fatty meal etc. Starches like rice etc. don't help much, potato may, but bread/gluten seems to give it something to work on and calm the digestion down and prevent gastric dumping kind of thing that races through the bowel. The vision thing is probably something else I'd say, pretty unrelated.
No id say its very related, your gall bladder was in charge of your fat solvable vitamins including A, E and D ect. Since you won't absorb vit A because your gallbladder is gone now, take supplements to improve your eye sight. Your gallbladder used to process those fat solvable vitamins out from your food. Take all the fat solvable vitamins
I have had 4 operations on my stomach. The last 2 was for my umbilical hernia with the first op I had a mesh in place for hernia but I got sepsis so had to go through my 4th operation so I have a lot of scar tissue. 11 years ago I had my gallbladder op I now have sensitive irritable bowel syndrome
@@billdivine9501 Try eating more fibre, add some wholemeal bread. It's because bile is being constantly produced, maybe in excess amounts. Avoid seed oils (other fats sem ok). I find giving it something like bread to work on, helps.

I had my gallbladder removed almost 6 moths ago. Not long after getting it removed it started burning from the wound area (internally) to under my right rib. They said it was "just nerves waking up". That went on for some time. Then the burning spread to my left and down both sides. Eventually my entire body was inflamed. My skin felt like it was burning and it was hot to the touch. Now it has gone even deeper. My joints hurt my muscles are week. I get head aches and shooting pains in my head. And that's the short version of all of my symptoms. Erin I developed a severe type of diarrhea that is ALWAYS labeled as IBS. This is not IBS!!! it’s called bile acid diarrhea. Many people who develop this are struggling with malnutrition and look like cancer patients and they are ignored by the medical community. They give you off label drugs used for high cholesterol to control this and they don’t work. People have diarrhea to the point where they need fluids. This is dangerous and I wished my surgeon told me about this complication!!!!!! NEVER remove your gall bladder. Take care of it.

Look up ulcers from bile reflux.
I got laparoscopic cholecystectomy recently. And I am facing gas and excessive amount of number 2 🤣 it's embarrassing and annoying
This video was 5 yrs ago. Some comments are just months ago. Maybe it's time to do an updated video doc.
Hi Buck, I wrote subtitles for the hard of hearing on this video a year ago, since the automatic TH-cam ones are very hard to understand and full of mistakes when you speak fast. They are still awaiting your review though. Would you be able to publish them?
I just got my gallbladder taken out three weeks ago and every time I eat I have to go to the restroom is that normal
Thanks Dr.
My Mom was just rushed to the hospital. Had Gallbladder surgery 20 years ago. Thank you for explaining!
Had my GB removed 3 days ago. I'm so swollen & feel like I've got trapped wind & can't fart it out. It's so painful. Have you heard of this?
I got mine out on nov 11. The air is normal because of the gaz they put in there to be able to work inside. My first surgery was bad this one ok. Took some gaz med really helped. Walking will help you if you can. Sleeping in an almost sitting position will help to. Good luck
Currently the same problem
I had my gallbladder removed 10 years ago, I've gone through Torture since . Hope I can get a answer to heal this constant pain. !!
Take magnesium to go to the bathroom or Epsom salt
I had my gallbladder removed in 2010. I've had this thick stuff that comes up into my esophagus and it is painful and I feel so much pressure. I have been taking Prilosec and trying to avoid trigger foods but it seems like anything triggers it lately.
Avoid seed oils, and eating at night (strangely animal fats don't seem as bad), bile seems to struggle with breaking down seed oils, remember our bodies never truly adapted to them as seed oils are quite modern. Had better results with Pariet 10mg for GERD / reflux, check with your GP / doctor.
Hy dear I feel the same way😢
My father is facing the same problem what to do????what's ur update plzzzz tell me?
I have had 4 operations on my stomach. The last 2 was for my umbilical hernia with the first op I had a mesh in place for hernia but I got sepsis so had to go through my 4th operation so I have a lot of scar tissue. 11 years ago I had my gallbladder op I now have sensitive irritable bowel syndrome
Holy crap. After my gall bladder surgery over a year ago it’s been nothing but daily diarrhea. I can’t keep doing this.
@@billdivine9501 Try eating more fibre, add some wholemeal bread. It's because bile is being constantly produced, maybe in excess amounts. Avoid seed oils (other fats sem ok). I find giving it something like bread to work on, helps.
Did it get sorted? I’ve got mine removed 2 weeks ago and going through terrible constipation.
Try a binder, like bentonite clay from health food store.
Doctors also have medicine for that, can't remember the name, id use the clay.
@@cindysanchez9808 cholestyramine. Its a bile acid binder. I did not know bentonite clay was also a binder.
I have the common post gall bladder GI symptoms. My issue is EXTREME pain, 8-9/10, for the last 3.5 years. Docs are just now getting around to looking to see if its because of scar tissue from the surgery. Doctors never tell you that there is alike a 60% of adhesive disease post gall bladder surgery.
I’ve had multiple small bowel resections from blockages due to Crohn’s Disease and have had my gallbladder out three years ago. Laparoscopically removed. Went thru 5 surgeons denying me surgery because they said I had too much scar tissue. Asking about future problems with these two issues.
So sorry you are going through this. So far I had one bowel obstruction due to gall bladder removal and it was terrible. I'm scared to death about getting another. I have a close friend with Crohn's disease, it is a terrible thing.
I had my GB out with keyhole surgery last week. As my gallstone was a gall rock and they pulled it through my bellybutton as far as I know.
A week later it now looks like my stomach is swollen. So have to have a CT scan tomorrow morning
My question is, so since the body is going to put scar tissue there, what can we do to minimize the effects that may have on the body, e.g. massage in that area or rehab of any type?
I feel like pineapple juice is the best bet.
Castor oil cold pressed from an amber bottle on a piece of flannel , wear it all the time, when you take it off massage
-Can you get adhesion or a bowel obstruction 3 years after GB removal, I have alot of word pain in my left side of intestines and pelvis , I also have chest on both ovarys and get pain there as well
I had my GB removed a few months ago and I'm having yellowish diahrrea now a days... Is this normal?
I’m having the same issue I tried calling my drs to be seen again but no response I’m worried it’s my pancreas this time
Yeah me too.. I had yellow mucusy diarrhea before surgery and now after surgery I'm having the same.. how has it went for you? Did it go back to normal? I'm 11 days out if surgery
I'm still having the same problems and weight loss as well before surgery I weighed 127lbs now I weigh 106lbs it's very worrisome.. I think I made a mistake by having my gallbladder surgery I could have just had the gallstones removed but opted for surgery because I thought I'd get 100% better but I've had more problems since having it out 😔 I thought I needed some medicine to help gain nutrients from foods but after having a stool test my gastroenterologist said it was fine so now I'm just a mystery. I hope that you two are able to figure out what is going on with y'all hopefully you will both have better luck than I have had! 🙏
@@marcirathbone8998 that sucks.. I am soo sorry you are having to go through this.. I was thinking maybe its an infection or something or my liver, because I do drink alcohol but they said I don't have cirrhosis or anything like that, so I'm confused as to why its happening... and then for your doctor to tell you its fine is weird.. I would ask another doctor..
@@kreeplok123 i hope you are able to find out what's going on with you maybe an upper and lower endoscopy could help find out some things going on.. I did have an infection and was on antibiotics for a couple weeks went back to the doctor to be retested and they said it was gone but still dealing with the same issues so I really don't know what else it could be but I am considering getting another opinion from a different doctor cause ya the last one said everything looks fine from stool sample blood work and urine. I hope it's not your liver usually if you have liver problems your skin and eyes will become yellow too..
How do you fix this.
What about robotic surgery. Do you still use permanent clips? Why not use sutures?
Is it really necessary to have the gallbladder removed because of a 10mm polyp ?
I had 4 inches removed from my small intestine on 12/24/22. A year since passed and still have pain and spasms.
Dear God. I had my GB removed after suffering from Spinchter of Oddi Dysfunction.
Little Rookie how is it now, what were the symptoms please, maybe i have this, i have a bulge under rib area and burning on right side.
Doctor it's been a month i got gallstones sargry still got abdominal PAIN
My daughter has small bowel strictures from adhesions from Crohn's disease. She had her Gallbladder removed two weeks ago and is having continuous bouts of bloating and blockage symptoms. it is making it hard for her to recover and she is losing weight despite still being on TPN. What should we be doing about this please?
I'd like to hear more about what to do also. I was taking psyllium husk for a while then I started taking Pure Digestion GB instead. They both helped and I got different results from each. I'd like to find a better solution unless what I've taken are common proven methods, which I would not know cause I'm not a doctor.
I had surgery one week ago and still haven't had a bowel movement
Hi Breeann Walker,
It shows is been about three weeks since your message here. How are you doing today?? Are things alot better for you?
I just had laproscopic gallbladder surgery 4 days ago and still going through relieving myself with the gas..etc....sore, swollen..you know the drill.....
How do you get a hernia from a open gallbladder removal?
Can you make a more in-depth and informative video on this topic? Thanks
Your videos are very helpful! I will be getting surgery next week for my galbladder & im nervous😕

Had gall stones ..gall bladder removed ..NOW CANT pass gas or poop unless I'm given a suppository ... I been in HOSP over a wk. ..ct says no bowl obststruction....now they are going to do a camera to see what's going on!!! Help me
Its been over 3 weeks since my gb has been removed and I can not pass a bowl movement at all . Even with stool softeners . Its actually quite scary . Ive also been experiencing extreme nausea and am unable to eat hardly at all . Makes me even sicker
@@lacie9419 so what was it and did you recover on your own?!
Maybe you should drink more water and not depend on that medicine..I heard that depending on that medicine makes our body forget how to do the poop processing
@@lacie9419did it get better?
Were they able to sort it?
I had my gallbladder removed almost 6 moths ago. Not long after getting it removed it started burning from the wound area (internally) to under my right rib. They said it was "just nerves waking up". That went on for some time. Then the burning spread to my left and down both sides. Eventually my entire body was inflamed. My skin felt like it was burning and it was hot to the touch. Now it has gone even deeper. My joints hurt my muscles are week. I get head aches and shooting pains in my head. And that's the short version of all of my symptoms. I am being poisoned from whatever it is going on in that spot. I got a HIDA scan, but it didn't show a leak. What else could it possibly be? I'm sure I really don't have much time left, if it doesn't get figured out soon.
I pray you're better now 🙏
Check for the clips they left behind simptoms are similiar to an inmune reaction or a allergic to metal due to the clips
@@javilopez7069 The metal clips are titanium, allergic reactions to that are possible but very rare.
Are you okay now?

Had my gallbladder out in February and I feel terrible 7 months later! Severe stomach cramps up to 6x per day and severe diarrhea and dizziness.. Is it dumping syndrome? Ugh
Why would you have post surgical ileus following only RUQ gall bladder removal without involving the duodenum?
I had my gallbladder out 2 years ago. 3 times since then I have have obstructions that eventually passed after 8 hours of vomiting bile and severe abdominal pain and nearly passing out several times. I couldn't even stand up, between the low energy, pain and nausea it was horrible. But after hours each time I eventually was able to painfully pass the biggest stool of my life which also gave me internal hemorrhoids. I'm also an addict I am a fentanyl iv user for 5 years everyday now. I can't tell if this problem is because of my gallbladder or the fentanyl or a combination. Any advice would be helpful since I can't afford to go the hospital
Hey om sorry to hear that you can't afford to get to the hospital.did u maybe check with a Dr?
Can u kindly whatsup me on this number maybe we talk our issues and see how we help each other please I really need to talk to someone about this gallbladder issues 😢
What is your view on having surgery to remove adhesions?
If the surgeon is able to do it laparoscopically it is a great operation with very little recovery time.
Buck Parker, M.D. ..Great.I know that adhesions can regrow,my general surgeon did a ventral hernia with mesh repair last September . (Lots of mesh)..Love the videos..watching from Naperville Illinois
Gall bladder fossa scar tissue buildup. Got it 👍
Adhesians?
Can you speak to large bowel obstruction after gallbladder surgery? I had my gallbladder removed in Oct 2019. For the last week and a half, I have had excruciating pain in the left lower quadrant. After a desperate attempt at golightly, I’ve had 3 “brown cow” enemas to no avail. I’m now taking mag citrate and a LOT of Gatorade, trying to attack from the top. I have an appointment with Gastro tomorrow. Please help me.
I forgot to add, 2 ER visits including an ultrasound, transvaginal ultrasound, and 2 CTs reveal no perforation.
I got my GB removed yesterday, and I have redness spreading around my belly button, should I be concerned? What could be the reason for that?
Doc can i ask if laxative tea are good for the person who got a year laparoscopic gall bladder surgery? Thank you
Is the medical industry calling (the small intestines) "(small bowel") and (the large intestines) "(large bowel)" now? I'm just asking.
yes

When gallbladder remove then bile storage never is bile waste plz tell me I feel anxity about bile ans me
Thank you Doc well said 😎
I had my gall bladder removed last year, I had severe infection caused by a large stone caught in the duct (paraphrasing).
Almost a year later and I still have issues reverse to what I have been warned. Rather than watery/urgent stool evacuation, I have constipation/hard stool.
I wonder if due to being vegetarian.. I eat a balanced, healthy diet and drink plenty of water.. This boggles mind.
I’m going through this right now and I’m only 8 weeks in.. can you give me any advice
@@alexandrear2115 Well.. It's kind of normal the first few months after to be constipated easily.
Are you on pain medicine? The Dr switched mine. I couldn't go for about 8 days after surgery
I suggest a lot if water and try sone Psylium husk in a smoothie. Anything high fibre will help clear the intestines and colon as it pulls water and debris as it moves through
High fruit and veg, and with me I ate more soy for protein as it's gentler on digestion.
Oh also, no fizzy! It blocks you up!
I wish you luck!
Have you tried pineapple juice cold? With bits of pineapple in it?
Really need help my life side of stomach hurt getting a sharp pain , my stool is dark and pain is unbearable sometimes I got my surgery almost a month ago and facing lose motion.

My stomach hurts every time I eat food
I heard that the gallbladder is important. There's some consequences to having it being removed, like digestive problems and other problems while on the toilet. :/
Hopefully, I don't have any of these problems you talk about. I'm keeping my gallbladder as long as possible.
Had mine removed 1 month ago...I eat and live exactly the same as before. Diarrhea a little bit the first week but all is normal now :)
Please do
Erin I developed a severe type of diarrhea that is ALWAYS labeled as IBS.
@@romegreen2985 How r you now. Pls try oxbile and digestive enzymes. Apparently they r good. Havent tried any of them though bt some ppl w/out gall bladders got their lives back thru them.
