- One of best vintage saws...as comes to reliability ! I was a little unsure on how to file the chain...I think i used at 6mm file and did a round by hand. Working good enough for me now...but not optimal. The chain is almost worn out...but i am a little confused on what chain to replace it with. It might be a 20 inch or maybe 24 inch bar on here. Been standing now for many moths...but my ohh my...how it always starts...and runs perfect ! No floating or drowning incidents with this saw...as you have with many other vintage saws when temperatur is above 15 degrees celsius.
I picked one of these up for $15 when I was 12 years old at a garage sale. I live in a small town…. But I put it on a scooter I had blown the engine up already. The sound of this brings back memories of many runs across my little town just screaming going wayyyy too fast. Fun times. Best scooter ever. The chain would snap all the time. Was scary lol I watched it happen once.

Picked up one for free off the side of the road this am. Very cool to find out its a great saw. Got that and a small eager beaver mac with it. There was a pile of stuff eith a free sign. I live in the country on dirt roads. It wasnt a five finger discount free lol!

Your chain is dull AF and you should only let the weight of that 20lb saw do all the work
The chain is definitely dull. That looks like hackberry. That saw should shred through that wood way faster. You also shouldn't need to rock the saw back and forth. They are great saws though.
Gotta sharpener bud my saws all cut like a 372 cause they be sharp as fuc
You right. I am waiting for new chain from China. Last one disapeared in post.. Can't wait until get one...and try this awesome saw again...sharp this time ! 🙂
@@motordiverse1276 i use a granber xt1012 sharpener it can turn any chain into a brand new iregon exl
@@motordiverse1276 and yes they are pretty awsome i have the 55cc timberbear and its sharp and it cuts like a 65cc saw

@@ericfuller6326 The sharpener expencive though he he ! I found on ebay. Cast me 150...179 dollar with porto... Ok..But i do not know that sharpener or grinder...but some sure demonstrate it on youtube. Again. Thx for tips.

The little one ? I Think Mr. Obsolite talk exyensivly about that one. I heard they durable and good as well. Cool.
