    First, the Gray indicates a wet steak and boiled at first. Need to dry that sucker before searing it. Second, if you want your steak at 130, take it off at 120, it'll continue cooking another 10 degrees while resting.

    🤔 I have a question: is the grill not leveled, or is the griddle top built to slope? When he's squeezing oil on it, it rolls towards the rear of the grill.

    • @griddlecookeatandmore
      @griddlecookeatandmore  ปีที่แล้ว

      The griddle top is level to the griddle. It is sloped because the driveway is sloped. You can adjust the feet to help level the griddle.

    • @Justcuz99
      @Justcuz99 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of people intentionally have them slightly sloped towards the grease bin.

    • @griddlecookeatandmore
      @griddlecookeatandmore  ปีที่แล้ว

      I was cooking on my driveway which has a decent slope. I even had a couple pieces of plywood under the back wheels and it was still sloped. I have to say this was the best steak I've made in a griddle but to be fair I mainly do my steaks over charcoal. Thanks for watching.

  • @Justcuz99

    I dont think i would use oil with that high of a temp. It would just burn the oil. I'm not sure of anything that has a higher smoke point than 450.

  • @1DrBar

    I was going to buy one of these until I saw that the low end temps are complete lies. I'm interested in cooking at 225 and 325 80 percent of the time and this can't seem to do the job of holding those temps. What a shame. If I want to nuke a steak, I will grill it on my Kamado Joe, which easily hits 800 degrees for those rare days that I want to go over 600.

    • @griddlecookeatandmore
      @griddlecookeatandmore  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The only griddle I know that will maintain 225 degrees is the Loco griddle. If you run all 8 zones you will not run in the 300 range unless you have it completely loaded with food. How often would you need to run all the burners. 90% of the time for me is running one or two burners. When doing that you can easily cook in the 300 degree range.

    • @1DrBar
      @1DrBar 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@griddlecookeatandmore Thanks for that. I had my eye on the three burner Halo, and after some though I wonder if the burner on one side was lit to medium, the center one to low and the last row left off - if that would reach much lower temps for things like eggs and pancakes? Perhaps I just have not enough experience with the whole concept of zone cooking as it pertains to griddles.
