There's only 3 reasons a kid might need to have a minifridge: 1. to store personal medicine/healthcare products that needs to stay chilled. 2. to store personal snacks/food items that due to dietary/medical restrictions aren't allowed to be in the communal fridge or need to be kept close. 3. if there is a major rift/trauma among the kids where giving them agency and control over their own snacks is good for therapy reasons and/or to stave off disordered eating. Those videos are fantasies. I doubt any kid is allowed near those perfectly aesthetically pleasing fridges. Because then the fridge would NO LONGER look like that after a few days. It'd be scuffed, dinged, sticky, stained by markers/paint, covered in stickers and there would be glitter and/or crumbs in the weirdest places. I bet there is NO footage of any kid using any of those products 'stocked' in those fridges and if there is, the videos are probably just as staged and fake as the restocking videos. Those restocking videos are for the poster looking for internet clout. The cost is worth it for them to get the attention. My bet is that either they throw away the food products after the video, or take them back out and put them on the table for the family breakfast/lunch that day. As for the non-food ones... those items certainly get thrown out the moment they find another reason to make a 'restocking' video, or when the trend fades and something else takes its place.
This!!! This needs way more attention because I’d never thought of this before. As someone who’d have benefited from having a mini fridge for those specific reasons, I can get behind purchasing one. Am I going to though? Probably not. Overconsumption for me is a slippery slope already
My friend (in their 20s but still) has a personal mini fridge cuz they love their drinks FREEZING cold. Like the fridge is so cold even soju turns into a slush. It’s crazy. If it was something like that, that’s so valid. I always wish I had a personal fridge when I was living with my dad and brother for reasons like that. And they can be pretty cheap too. It would be a perfect way to get them to save money, maybe get a job mowing lawns or something if they’re old enough.
Yeah these videos terrify me. It’s an extension of the almond mom thing which honestly was so refreshing to see people call out things that have been highlighted as objectively good as harmful. This is the place where the kitchen is off limits cause you’ll mess it up and you shouldn’t be a glutton to need more water than is in the mini fridge. It’s a place where different colors are wrong, spilling water on the floor is disrespecting the life your parents have sacrificed every moment of free time creating. It’s thinking just about anything can be done to you because the price that has been put in beforehand is so great that you wouldn’t dare have an opinion to ruin it. It’s having to constantly change bits and pieces of yourself when it doesn’t meet the asthetic.
Society been turning women into narsasists for decades, this explains why they keep voting for the left and more free money, while also complaining about the inflation they caused with the free money 😂

EXACTLY. In my house, we have a snack cabinet that is child-oriented but "healthy" (aka no cookies or candy). My kids can generally go in there whenever they want unless it is close to dinner time. My 13 year old has a mini fridge, but she currently has jellybeans and a bubbly drink 😂 just for giggles. No restocking 😂 just random things.
Omg my mother in law let's my two year old open her fridge and get into the pantry. It drives me crazy when he comes home and I have to remind him in our house he doesn't help himself he needs to tell me he's hungry then I can get him something to eat.
Little girls being raised to be little narsasists, very concerned for who they will vote for This explains how young women favor Harris by 36 points lol
I just watched a video how these mini refrigerators use more power than a full size American refrigerator. They don't use a compressor, it's a special chip that gets cool on one side hot on the other. They're so bad.
This is valid. I was the same way too. I do want to say😊 that it is also valid for parents to ease their children's lives and their own. For example; saving the tantrums of neurodivergent kids when they're hangry and unable to express their needs adequately and you're in the middle of cooking. A mini fridge can help a toddler build a good relationship with healthy food items and develop their palate from different foods. Some kids like variety, so the element of surprise will make them happy. Some kids are neurodivergent, and would be happy to find their comfort foods in the fridge. Sure, it's terrible when parents stuff their kids fridges with sugar and junk..but it isn't inherently evil to help your child by buying certain things. I'll be honest, the entire video felt a bit like the creator was trauma dumping and being rant-y because she felt triggered by overconsumption. Yes, her anger is completely valid on the topic, it just felt like she was only pointing out the negatives of these inventions when they can be super beneficial as well.
I think the only mini fridge I’ve seen that isn’t purely for aesthetics is LauraLove. It’s not just snacks and sugar, it’s ingredients because she has taught her toddlers basic food prep and cooking skills.
i was looking for someone else to mention her. she’s the only one that isn’t using her children for content. i like how she shows how to healthily parent while healing from trauma.
It's not a fridge, but I did watch a foster parent a while ago that had a "snack cart" out in the open that she always kept well stocked. Her reasoning was that the kids would sometimes get nervous about asking her for snacks or looking in the cupboard and she wanted them to feel secure to eat when they were hungry at her house since she didn't know what their situation was like at home. I thought that was really considerate.
There’s also another Laura on here who has mini fridges in the kids bedroom but that’s because she’s a foster mother who takes on kids who may have come from food insecurity, (or in rarer cases may have been punished by having food withheld from them) so it’s to help heal trauma and help the kids feel secure enough to not hoard food in a way where it would attract pests like mice or bugs or it would mold/go off.
@@melissam4954 came to comment that that foster kids are a valid exception because of food insecurity trauma. Some foster kids will hide food in there room and you kind of have to accept it and at least give them things to keep that food safe/ clean.
I think if they had hobbies they wouldn’t feel the need to do all of this. It’s like they’re grasping at straws because they forgot what actual hobbies are
It's very concerning seeing all these women being raised to be entitled, it explains how Harris is leading young women by 36 points lol They have been radicalized to think they are god's gift
i bet half of them dont even put the fridges out for the kids. they probably just put everything back in the pantry/regular fridge after filming their content 😂 at least i hope so
10:43 have you ever seen a toddler trying to open a bottle? Seeing how the mother is literally filling these tiny ass bottles to the brim, I'm damn sure half of it is going to spill as soon as it's opened. These bottles ain't more than just pure wasteful junk.
I thought it was "extra" when I was a kid and would visit my bougie aunts houses and they'd have bathrooms with the fancy matching hand towels and bowl of multi color seashell hand soaps on the counter. This is so far beyond unnecessary it's ridiculous. Your family is visiting for the weekend. You don't need to open a pop-up drug store in your guest bathroom.
My mom does have guest stuff in her guest bathroom but it's like a fabric basket from the 90s file with hotel stuff she's collected/Avon samples and the extra toothbrushes and toothpaste from the dentist visits. That's how you do a guest bathroom "stock" imo.
I really hate stuff like the first lady buying all the stuff for her daughter and saying she's excited for it... my mom would always buy me crap and clothes that I didn't like, want, or need, imposing her taste on me, when she would hem and haw every time I asked for something I actually wanted. I finally told her as a pre teen that I didn't want her to buy anything for me that I didn't pick out. I still have to catch her to stop her from doing it some times because I'm very picky about what I bring into my house because I hate decluttering and having to throw crap away I didn't even want in the first place. I can't imagine how much longer this process is for other kids that aren't as annoyingly independent, it probably takes them until their twenties to find a personality
@@JJ-gr9yz Hey mom thank you, but you don't have to buy shit for me anymore. I have my own style now, being an adult. please don't waste your money! I will buy my own stuff! That doesn't sound ungratefull to me. Just someone who is mindfull of their parents money. You can also let her buy everything and then throw away, since you don't want it. wasting their money and creating lots of waste.
with beige nurseries and excessive kids’ birthday parties and artificial ‘traditions’ like elf on the shelf. as a kid all i wouldve wanted for a birthday party was burgers and a pokemon theme!
@@sardonicprincess Yes 😭 I honestly feel so bad for a lot of kids nowadays. I don't want to be all like "The old times were better" because surely parents like these have always existed, but now this lifestyle is such a status symbol in a way.
Right? I'm so excited to have kids for the chaotic coloufullness it's gonna bring. I absolutely hate parents that try so hard to be aethstetic to the point it's going to ruin their kids lives.
For real. Actually most of the people who do these vids don't even have kids lmaoo. Theres a couple videos from some people ive seen like the "restock my teens bathroom" girl... she does a new video every week. She doesn't have a teenage boy though xD
"My 4 years old LOVES to do makeup..." Does she really? Or is it actually you that wants her to do so? Watch that kid to go make some "Get ready with me" videos when she's 8...
Have you met a 4yo girl? Hell yes they do. Is it neat, tidy, pretty, or expensive? Hell no. But they will give you the glittery, blue and purple mermaid Barbie eyeshadowed makeover of your LIFE. Complete with complimentary hairstyling that will have you finding hair clips for hours and tangles for days. 😂😂😂😂
It's very concerning seeing all these women being raised to be entitled, it explains how the left is leading young women by 36 points lol They have been radicalized to think they are god's gift
I really doubt she likes to DO makeup, more like she likes to PLAY WITH makeup. My 2 y/o son also likes to play with my makeup just because he wants to mimick what I do (I don't actually let him put it on, I just let him pretend with the brushes). Little kids playing with stuff shouldn't be thought of as anything more serious than little kids playing with stuff.
Honestly though? What the kids need is to be placed in a permanent home. We looked into adoption here in Canada, and the children are yanked through the system a million different ways, while there are hundreds of people who want to adopt. My only worry with this mindset, is someone, somewhere, going 'get a mini fridge, that'll fix it!' (I'm not pooping on your comment though, just sharing a different perspective)
Or, you know. Investing in a relationship where they feel secure enough to either ask or, even better, know that there is stuff like snacks and food in the normal kitchen fridge for them to take. Or getting them a therapy to overcome the trauma they lived trough. Your idea is wholesome, but it justs adds to the blind consumerism criticized in the videos. With a frigde like that, you wouldn´t get rid of the traume, just, in the best of cases, hide some of it´s symptoms.
@@Mandy87Marie Who would have thought that working on problems stemming from abuse take time to regulate and heal. Again I am not saying it is per se a bad idea, but buying stuff will not help with the underlying problem.
My grandma is 86 now and spent most of her childhood during the second world war. When she tells me stories about what they ate back then and how they cooked it… finding a piece of meat somewhere and cutting the moldy parts off to eat the rest, boiling water and throwing bones of pigs in it to give it some kind of taste. My parents were born in the 60s and both of their families were JUST getting along with housing and feeding the kids. And then I was born in 2000. I had absolutely everything I could have ever asked for. BUT THIS SH*T SHOWN IN THE VIDEO… just WTF. My grandma refuses to use plastic, she freezes food leftovers and never throws food away. Those were the lessons she taught my dad and then me. I was taught that food is a gift and that I have to value it, that a full stomach is a blessing. Today’s level of consumerism is INSANE. Why would a toddler ever need this amount of sugary food and drinks accessible at all times? All these cosmetic products for WHAT? How do they learn the true value of things? Food is an aesthetic nowadays thanks to TikTok and not what it’s supposed to be: something that keeps us ALIVE. I feel sorry for all the kids growing up thinking that they‘ll never be good enough because they’re getting drowned in cosmetics from an early age thinking that that’s the only way to feel beautiful. This is so sad man. Wow.
The ONLY acceptable thing in this video was the toothpaste dispenser imo… 4 year olds usually can’t squeeze the tube without it getting absolutely everywhere so I feel like it’s practical in that it helps with independence but prevents the bathroom from becoming a mess of toothpaste globs 💀
We had a toothpaste dispenser in the for that reason, and because we as kids found it fun. With all these influences though, it's definitely for the adult, not the child
Came here to say this. Even older kids, forgetting to put the cap on, toothpaste all over the counter, using way too much, all addressed by the toothpaste dispenser. Can think of a few adults who could use it….. Now, fancy brands, grown up products, special mini-fridges, nope. They are children, not short adults.
also i am EXTREMELY unmotivated to brush my teeth whatsoever and I skip days so the dispenser might make it fun or me and it might be the same with the kid too
Ikr? You know how much those Native deodorants cost?! You do not need to it in six bars of soap for a two day stay! I use bar soap and it lasts like two weeks.
When my daughter was a toddler we had a small fridge. Someone gave us a larger fridge, so the smaller fridge (unplugged) became her snack fridge. She loved being able to pick her own snacks and it was a size that seemed right for her. I also gave her one of the lower kitchen cabinets as her space. She was always playing in the cabinet, so rather than telling her to leave it alone, I cleared it out and told her she could put her things in it. It was very entertaining to check her cabinet because she is very creative and always had interesting ways of decorating it.
what is even the point of it? I could understand if it's a disability aid, but tbh even if you can't do a squeeze motion, you could still lay it on the counter and push on it to get the stuff out, for free.
Most parents have step stools for the bathroom. If my 4 year old hadn't smeared toothpaste around the bathroom mirror a couple of times I would be against the toothpaste dispenser too lol. But I think for smaller kids it can be a good idea until they get older
@@aluna1234Right! My mom got me a toothpaste dispenser to keep the mess at a minimum and also keep to proper proportions of using it, since mom was struggling a bit we couldn't afford me using too much toothpaste. Like some parents she would ask me to tell her when the toothpaste would stop coming out so I could use the last little bit in the toothpaste tube. This was back in like the early 2000s so toothpaste dispenser designs weren't exactly elegant back then. Still it worked better than me trying to do it myself and weirdly enough it encouraged me to brush my teeth cause my weird little brain found it fun
I think that everyone below 13 should reevaluate what they are doing like 9 yr olds doing their makeup. 9 yr olds shouldn’t be doing a full face of makeup. And toddlers shouldn’t have mini fridges.
The issue is that young children literally don't have the mental capacity to "reevaluate" what they're doing. The 8-9 year olds dont understand the societal influence behind makeup culture, they're just copying what they see their peers / inspirations doing. It's up to the parents and communities of these children to make sure they're exhibiting age-appropriate behavior (playing with dolls and slime and not doing full skin care routines).
The only reason I wore make up growing up was for dance comps and that was it, since I’ve quit I haven’t touched make up at all. I don’t know why female (and some males) like the feeling of your face being clotted with that stuff. Last year I was in the bathroom and the year 3s had just come back from swimming, there were 5 of them standing informs of the mirror APPLYING MAKE UP AND ANTI AGING STUFF! Girlie you’re 8, you don’t need that stuff until you’re like 20-20, well like that’s the youngest age you should use it
@dummyyogurt5375 this as well as the fact that if her mom posts her with makeup, or makes/encourages the kid to do grwm at a young age it can lure pedos; like I get a kid wanting to play around with it but literally dedicating an entire drawer of expensive makeup products is way too much also just in general the fact that kids are dressing like adults more frequently, as well as using makeup/skincare (as in expensive unnecessary skincare not acne treatment) makes me worried for the safety of these kids; for example I was at the mall the other day and there was a kid that was no older than 6 wearing hoop earrings, a shirt that said "baby girl" and ripped jeans, like wtf
REAL REAL REAL that's the exact thought i had, and that was the exact moment i had the realisation "oh this is mum's dream, she doesn't give a FUCK about her kid"
At first I didn’t think the mini fridge was that bad because I thought she might’ve been storing breast milk, but then I realized she has a toddler not a baby, and I saw she put ENERGY DRINKS IN IT (that kid doesn’t know their abcs, leave ‘em alone 😭😭)
Girl if I come over to your house and the guest bathroom looks like that … I’m going shopping in there and saving myself some money since you decided to spend it for views anyway lol
Idk, if I saw a drawer like that at someone's house, I'd be more likely to assume that they buy in bulk and that's where they keep them until they need a new one in their bathroom. I would still think it's excessive (so many mini things instead of regular size) and that they were a little too into "aesthetics", but I wouldn't just take everything home. If they said I was free to use anything, then sure, then I could use stuff then take it home, but I'd only do it with things that had multiples. If you know the person is just doing it for social media, then sure, take whatever.
Just what I thought, if you give me that many things, I AM RANSACKING THAT DRAWER I AIN'T EVEN LEAVING THE ORGANIZERS, they'll come in handy for my art supplies and stickers
bestie ur toddler can barely WALK, let alone go up to the fridge, have the strengh to open it, and pick out a good food/drink to consume properly like?? 😭
The only toddler I'd have faith in was my sister...I have a pic of her at barely 2 holding a full gallon of milk bc she wouldn't ask for it, just get it out.
Most kids can open fridges but sometimes aren't able to get anything. My parents had to get a fridge lock because I would open it and leave when I couldn't reach (I was like 4 btw)

I saw a mini stanley in the toy section at walmart that could be decorated and put on a backpack, but couldnt be drinken out of. If I had a kid that's as good as they're gonna get
If I left canisters full of hair bands and plasters my little girl would literally open all the plasters and lose the hair bands all over the house lol this isn’t realistic 😂
@@marz20 I was replying to the person correcting you 😭 I think it's super pointless, mean, and honestly malicious to correct someone's spelling online. You still got your point across so their comment was pretty unnecessary.
The guest bathroom restocks are weird. I have a guest bathroom that has some little hotel shampoos and toiletries, that I got in my travels, in a drawer in case friends or family forget something (there’s a toothpaste in there too don’t worry lol). Other than that I just let them borrow my stuff, like makeup remover, or they pick up a mini something they forgot at the store. Seems pretty normal and uncomplicated to me!
Honestly? When I stay over somewhere I'm always bringing my own toiletries and my own travel sized containers because I can't stand using other people's stuff. If that tiktok person was wise, I would've left that drawer empty for every cousin's toiletries bag!
@@Panda-gk6ip same, though I am good about bringing my own toiletries do to plenty of traveling… sometimes guests are not lol. It’s more just a “in case your forgot or run out” kinda thing.
For a guest bathroom, I think things like baby wipes, q-tips, cotton balls, toothpaste, floss, tooth rushes, and feminine products wouldn't be that weird to have on hand (we've all been stuck with a period issue, I always have something on hand haha) - but then, where I live, most people only have one bathroom, so... work with what ya got lol. I think having a full department store in a the guest bath is weird
I want a mini fridge for my room but I'm also ALMOST 27! NOT 4! I also wouldn't buy more than one! Rent is $1700 a month and thats the cheapest place I could find with my household in my area! We are struggling to stay healthy let alone keep a roof over our heads and there's people out here buying mini fridges like they're candy?! No shame to anyone who can afford that life but it just feels so aesthetic forward and not actually for the child.
@@themanhimself1949 those tiny fridges in the video are not real fridges. they use more power than a huge kitchen fridge uses in a year because it uses an inefficient cooling technology. and they don't actually "refrigerate" items they just keep them at most 30 degrees F cooler and the outside air. So there is no guarantee of it ever getting to food safe temps. a real mini fridge with a compressor and all that is more expensive upfront but will be cheaper in a couple years because the electricity cost over time is so much less.
@@Houaha Wow! Thanks for sharing. Is that just in reference to the tiny fridges showcased here or does it include things like mini fridges people might get for dorm rooms or garages?
@@themanhimself1949saw someone else responded but wanted to add that if you're comfortable with your money and you have that money go and buy a mini fridge that's your money but this is just excessive
It's also notable that those cheap-ass mini-fridges are using a Peltier cooler instead of a compressor and refrigerant so they consume more power than your average full-sized fridge lol. What a waste...
This reminds me of a concerning phase my mom went through when I was 4 through 7 or 8, where everything she needed, she insisted that I also needed. She would pluck a nonexistent unibrow I supposedly had, she cut my cuticles because she did, she had me sleep with a memory foam pillow because she needed memory foam, etc. And the worst part is that she gaslighted me into believing that I legitimately couldn't function without those things. Like she had me fully believing that I wouldn't be able to fall asleep without a memory foam pillow and lavender oil rubbed on my stuffed animals. She only stopped once I got old enough to notice I didn't need those things. The memory foam started to make my neck hurt, the cuticle cutting was making them bleed, and the unibrow thing was starting to mess up my real eyebrows.
I'm an overconsumer and I hate it. For some background, I grew up dirt poor. Foodbanks, donations, loans etc fuelled a lot of our life at one point. My mother worked way overtime to try and pay our rent. Growing up like this left me insecure and fearful about running out of things. I developed a food and money hoarding disorder, I struggle to throw anything away even if broken because I might be able to reuse it or fix it. I'm working on changing it, I donate my stuff when I'm finally able to let go of it, and I try to help others where I can because I know what it feels to have nothing. But I don't understand willing overconsumption just because they can. Willingly wasting products and overbuying to put on a show online and irl. Like you said Drama Kween, we weren't meant to live this way. The line between accessibility and laziness is being crossed in this situation and it makes me so sad. Their money they spend on this stuff they don't actually need could help so many other people. I just don't get why people would do this intentionslly
3:14 WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOUR TODDLER LIKES TO DO HER MAKEUP... istg bro are kids evolving or some shit i dont remember any little kid being able to do these stuff by themselves
Kids playing with makeup is perfectly normal. But most parents only give them a lip gloss, maybe a tiny bit of blush or eyeshadow as a fun treat. I know one kid who loved to 'match' with her mom when they went out to dinner, so she would give the daughter some pink gloss and a super light eye shadow.
7:00 thats another great point..... if your kid is not old enough to have their own social media accounts to begin with (generally 13+) you shouldnt be exploiting them on your own accounts.... keep the baby pictures in the families personal photo book and not on the internet where ANY ONE can see them. Accounts for 13 year olds have restrictions for a reason. Parental Control software exists for a reason and yet these "mom-fluencers" are just going to steam roll right through those safe guards any way.
I love that you always remember the disability community! I don't know if you consider yourself part of it or not but there are so many important points you easily chuck in that people should think of as easily and quickly as you! I can especially see those skin care mini fridges (as an Aesthetician I LOVE those!) & dividable snack containers being PERFECT for my very sick weeks/months. I rarely eat or drink much then as it's difficult to get up, period. Someone would be glad to come by for a day and spend some time making snacks and packing a fridge like that for me in my room. This is actually giving me a lot of helpful ideas as a Spoonie who runs their own business. Thank you for this rant!
Hi fellow spoonie! Another commenter mentioned these fridges do not cool down to food-safe levels. Please check into this before using for that purpose! Sending love and spoons! 💕 🥄
These fridges aren't even food safe and they take a TON of power to get down to 50 degrees. Not only are you putting your kid at risk for food borne illnesses that could kill them, but you're spending more money over time to do so than you would if you just bought them a normal mini fridge that would keep them safe.
Right? If it weren't for the power I could kinda see getting a teen this so they can keep drinks and snacks that don't NEED to be refrigerated but are better cold. But the energy cost is not worth it, let alone for a toddler who's going to cover it markers, stickers, and grime
Thank you for mentioning this!!!! I studied culinary for a few years and was thinking about 'how cold do makeup fridges get anyways???' since the MAX temp a fridge(commercial and residential) should get to at any point (temp outage, fridge dying) and remain at is 48f (just under 9c). This entire thing just makes my brain hurt.
@@SlenderverseTrash Technology Connections does a really interesting video regarding the cooling element used in these makeup fridges and how they compare in cost and efficiency to normal fridges and mini fridges if you wanna learn something fun :0)
A four year old seldom has the fine motor skills to paint their nails, hence chunky crayons. Also, who refrigerates goldfish crackers? The rationale for this mini fridges footage is to extra-fuss over foster children, which then becomes a family content issue.
@ggrieving it's more economical to store non perishables in a good glass container if you're worried about creepy crawlies or little beasties... keeps things fresh too. For years, I have saved pickle jars for this, and I bought a few good bigger containers with sealable lids. Keeps things fresh, doesn't draw electricity, and keeps the wee critters away
A toddler doesn't need a fridge ! Do they need a mortgage or car insurance? Putting cosmetics on children when their skin is not designed for chemicals is foolish Let kids be kids stop trying to turn them into mini adults because they simply are not 🚫 I'm just sayin
@@PragmaticBLT Be a little bit more critical in your thinking. Why does a 4 year old child with no medical condition, is able-bodied, etc. have their own mini-fridge? Why is the child’s items and belongings filmed and used for content on social media to make the parent money? These “extra amenities” for the bathroom include makeup (not even child’s play makeup, actual adult makeup), deodorant, and a razor. Why does a 4 year old need a razor? Why does a 4 year old need a luxury lip balm? Why does a 4 year old need deodorant? The problems that this kind of lifestyle and aestheticizing of childhood/parenting FOR THE PARENT is often times selfish and is detrimental to a child’s growth and development. A lot of development problems, socialization problems. Your comment feels so wilfully obtuse but I’m going to assume it’s a genuine question you’re asking. I’m a teacher and I see the effects on children’s regulation, development, and socialization skills that social media has had. It is destructive and I am not even exaggerating or joking. It is SAD. This child does not need deodorant or razors or what I tell my children is “big girl makeup.” I’m not going to assume that this parent shown in the video doesn’t do this. Maybe she does, I don’t know. But children need BOOKS. They need actual TOYS designed for the development and growth of a child. They need affirmation and support. They don’t need a mini fridge. They need their mom to get off social media using her own children/child as clout and as a source of income and be a MOTHER. I’ve had ENOUGH of seeing or hearing about children on the internet. Protect your children and instil in them values of INTEGRITY, HUMILITY, and EMPATHY. I don’t see any of those values being instilled in the video. In fact, I can argue that I see the opposite.
@boy_with_apfel critical thinking, there's 0 harm in a child having a mini fridge; even if it isn't a necessity. Parents buy things their children don't NEED all the time. The bathroom could just as easily be a main bathroom/guest bathroom and the parents have an onsweet bathroom connected to the master bedroom. That was the set up for my husband and I, we had our bathroom but because the main bathroom had a bathtub; it was dedicated to our kids and anyone who came over. There's nothing wrong with a parent working from home. If this mom is making money doing these videos; then it's a job. She's working. People juggle work and kids all the time, imo this seems like a pretty lax job to have when you're otherwise primarily SAH. We don't know what the family dynamic is like within this home, we're just watching a product of this woman's job and thinking "oh I don't really like this" which is fine, you aren't forced to buy what you don't like. Which includes the content itself. If you see content you don't like; so long as you swipe away within the first 5 seconds, the creator doesn't make revenue from the view you would otherwise provide by sitting through the entire clip.
@boy_with_apfel oop, sorry I also wanted to include and excentuate that again, we don't know the dynamic in the home. We're judging this mother blind. All we're looking at is her work, not her parenting. It's a little unfair to judge someone's abilities as a parent, and what they do and don't provide for them from and education stand-point, social stand-point and what this parent does to improve their health and well being when we've never been shown those things to begin with. If this was a "here's what my toddler and I did today!" Video and all it was was just this kid sitting in front of the telly eating chips and candy all day then yeah, we could judge. But that's not what happened.
I used to be subscribed to that mum and she had redone her daughter's room just for Halloween because she likes spooky things and you can clearly see the difference in looks between what the daughter chose and what the mother chose, showing that the mum is just trying to change her daughter's likes and dislikes, purposely making the room more "preppy" instead of scary.
1:34 even if I lived in a huge mega-mansion and had millions of dollars I still wouldn’t have my imaginary toddler have their own *bathroom* with stuff in it that not even *i* (a girl) would use!!!
@@L.a.77 as an oldest child I had my own bathroom (that I shared with guests) until I was 4 but I didn't have toothpaste dispensers makeup or 12 individually wrapped anything. It was just toothpaste, hand soap and my 3 in 1 shampoo/body wash with bubble bath on special occasions
I wasn't allowed to eat in my bedroom growing up (to avoid me forgetting to bring plates down or drop food that goes gross or whatever) so the idea of giving your TODDLER a stock of snacks, including stuff kids could easily make a mess with like pretzels and houmous, is crazy to me even before you get to the overconsumption aspect. And giving your young child fucking ENERGY DRINKS?? Do you want them to have a heart attack before they reach 30?
That was our rule too... when we got a bit older, we were allowed to have a bowel of fruit or something, but we had to bring it back before dinner - nothing after dinner
Fun fact: Those little refrigerators that are made to hold about 6 cans of soda can run up your electric bill about as much (if not more than) one of those bigger square mini fridges
Plus, aren't they supposed to TEACH their children to restock and clean BY THEMSELVES?! It's so irritating that they don't let them learn how to do stuff by themselves. Gosh!
This! I know a couple kids who have their own mini fridge (2 kids share 1) and they restock it themselves, with healthy snacks, and clean it themselves. But these kids are actually parented, their parents don't even post on social media
@@LooL_idk well it is a form of gentle parenting, so I'm sure there's many kids being raised like this, but sadly there's either a majority (probably this one), or just a very loud minority of kids where the parents are too scared to traumatise their kids. And then these parents are on a whole other level
I think the toothbrush squeezy thing is convenient, it creates less mess and squeezes out the most product. But everything else was kinda crazy thats the only think I could get behind LMAOO
Those little kids will never learn empathy, sharing or basic social skills by having everything granted by waking up- entitled parents raising literal entitled devils right now. I had grandparents growing up in a literal war, and even they weren't obsessed of stacking food like this 😬
@@BDB101SB It's more of a demand than independence. Goddamn toddlers would eat raw dog poo or stick their fingers into electric bases if you leave them alone, not even mentioning a goddamn fridge to have T_T
I worked at a summer camp that had a lot of funding and those kids were the absolute worst at sharing and taking care of communal belongings. Since I had a hand in buying supplies, I’d purposely buy less or hide items (even though we had the funds for more) so I could teach the kids some damn manners. Before then, I worked at a museum that gave tours to all schools (including underserved schools) and those kids were so appreciative to the staff and wonderful about sharing.
These parents are worse than the kids imo. Wait until they realize all this stuff is not really for them and that their parents love internet attention, money and aesthetics more than them. It will do more deep seeded damage than being spoiled. Doubt these fridges get used / restocked every week. Probably just when it's content time.
lolol the bottom shelf in my fridge was stocked with grab and go snacks for my toddlers to encourage independence and decision making. Sippy cups of water, carrot sticks, apple slices, orange wedges, yogurt tubes etc. There was also a lower cupboard that had non refrigerated snacks. No, mini fridges weren't a thing back then and I honestly wouldn't get them now. Things that were already in packaging stayed in packaging and anything that wasn't was put in plastic containers because toddlers and glass just don't go together. I still played an active role in their snacking as they were too small to open the fridge door. "'Mummy I'm hungry." "Ok lets go see what's on the snack shelf." It didn't take a long time to put together- no longer than making a meal. I didn't do it every day and I sure af didn't make videos about it. The main reason I started doing it is because I lived with chronic pain. This whole consumerism thing though... absolutely insane!
We had a "mini fridge for kids" it was the microwave; don't get me wrong it did not work - but the light did and it buzzed SO loud. Thus all cookies, chips, etc went into the "alarm cupboard" so the whole house knew if you opened it.
We keep food in the microwave too. Its nicknamed the dog box because its dog proof. So its too keep the dog out rayher than the children but same principle.
For me I was such a hands on kid (and still am as an adult) I would want to stock and organize a mini fridge myself, I wouldn’t want to have to watch my mom do it! Kids love little play kitchens so having an actual working fridge just for you would have been so cool and fun.
As a mom who struggles with constantly feeling like I’m not doing enough for my kids, I appreciate videos like this. It reminds me that I don’t need to meet unrealistic standards to provide for my girls.
oh yes, what should i buy my kid? a mini fridge sounds like a wonderful idea, a four year old child DEFINITELY needs that!! it is genuinely hilarious how ridiculous these people are 😭😭just bring them food when they're hungry...
I think a kid should be allowed to have a mini fridge in their room ONLY if they are disabled or if they have some sort of anxiety, which that last part is definitely biased because I myself am a kid with anxiety, and if I know someone is in the kitchen I will not eat until they leave or I just won't eat until the next day because I'm too nervous to leave and get something in front of my family
I worked a job where I would monitor parents who don’t have custody of their kids. One mom had permission to give her kids gifts, she would give them gifts every visit (once a week) of clothes, shoes, food, drinks, and once, she gave her kids those mini Stanley’s. She told her kids to bring them to every visit in the future. The kids would keep forgetting and it’d turn into a rant by the mom about the importance of hydration. Hydration. With those mini Stanley’s. always confused me.
It's useless. You still need to refill and clean it up from time to time or else no toothpaste comes out Someone gifted me one and... Yeah. Waste of plastic imo
Your little rant about the energy drink and soda addiction actually made me feel really seen as a 20 year old struggling with a Monster addiction. It may not be 'as bad' as some of the other things I could be addicted to sure, but it does have its damn moments. Granted my parents weren't the problem there, middle school me was for ever picking up a Monster to begin with and I accept responsibility for that, but having caffeine rich things so readily available to a child is a good way to get them addicted early. Come high school if they haven't realized they're addicted, it could have a serious impact on them. High school some places in the States is already awful enough with having to get up at 6:00 AM to make it to school in time by 7, I can only imagine the struggle if they are also sluggish from lack of caffeine in their systems.
@@fairywingsonrosesthey could if they also made video of themselves learning the skills and stuff, but probably much more effort than what they are currently doing

The toothpaste dispenser can make brushing fun for kids that don't like to do it. But it is OK for things to be boring. And can we just say how problematic buying kids actual energy drinks is. Like what the actual eff. Do these parents not know Prime is an energy drink?
I mean, a toothpaste dispenser is a completely different ballgame than energy drinks. One encourages self-care and healthy habits and can help make it easier to keep routine. A toothpaste holder is a pretty simple solution for that, and some things just aren't worth the hassle if it means the kids actually brush their teeth. Giving the kids energy drinks is counterintuitive as they're often loaded with sugar or other flavoring/sweeteners that are ultimately bad for the teeth (besides all the other problems mentioned) that swapping the energy drinks out with simple water and fruit will make sure kid stays hydrated and nourished between meals. I knew my parents were firmly against energy drinks and they made it clear they were banned because they were unhealthy and also "don't want us having heart attacks bouncing off the walls" This makes me think since these parents care about aesthetic so much, I doubt the kid is allowed anywhere near that fridge or that it's actually for the parents claiming that it's for their kids because that gets them views. That's a completely different story, like you do you boo but we never even had energy drinks in the house because my parents despised that crap. It makes a bit more sense than giving glass/plastic containers that are difficult to open to a child who barely has the motor skills and would be more likely to spill it everywhere. Granted if this was actually for a toddler, I could see maybe having a few healthy snacks that aren't as messy and a few sippy cups that are already filled with water/juice/milk so that they're easily accessible for busy days but these influencers are so out of touch if they can keep up with daily restocking as though everyone has the time to spend hours making everything look like a boutique show home. You know what? My parents were obsessed with clean, and my mom would get yelled at for missing out on something and be called lazy when there were just so many things she'd do that aren't aesthetic. I could see these videos causing rifts in relationships since a working class family is being compared to an influencer. Raising a family is messy and things are going to get out of hands at times but will these influencers show that? Of course not there's a brand to uphold!
I watch these recently, and the biggest appeal to me is the feeling of abundance. And that i wish my childhood was better, i wish that i was taken care of, that plays into it too.
It was kinda strange when I learned that people in America have spare bedrooms And Guess bathrooms ... Here u just sleep where's available ... Like the gauch or on a mattrass on floor ... And if u forgot Ur toothpaste u just use the one everyone Is using .... Same with bodywash or really anything.... Especially when it's family ...
i have adhd. i used to use coffee and energy drinks to fall asleep. now that i’m on meds, i can’t remember the last time i got an energy drink and coffee is more of a treat for me

They're just making more work for themselves...
The montessori trend that was going about a few years ago nearly had me buying my toddler a mini fridge. You know the trend where all this shit like mini fridges and mini water dispensers were being marketed as montessori because it was "fostering independence" when in fact it was just another rod for me to beat myself with. I now realise that all i needed to do was put the fruit and crackers in the lower cupboard and provide a step stool for her to reach the sink.
22:58 And to think I've *only* been considerate enough to ensure my guests have a bar of soap, a clean hand towel, and a clean towel when they come over. I didn't know I wasn't being thoughtful enough since I expected my guests to bring their own toothbrushes with them. I guess I fail as a host. /s
What!? How could you not know you're required to provide your guests with a months worth of designer skin care, an entire set of clean towels for each day, a brand new set of name brand shampoo/conditioner & hair mask, 6 hair brushes, exactly 96 hairties, 3 different kinds of tampons and at least 14 toothbrushes w/ accompanied organic vegan mini toothpastes for each!? HEATHEN!! Don't let the tiktok restockers know!!!
i thought the toothpaste dispenser was silly, until my mom got me one and its one of my favorite bathroom gadgets, it honestly makes brushing my teeth so much easier, mainly because i hate it so much, if you're autistic or have adhd and brushing teeth is a sensory nightmare it helps to remove some of the steps and makes it more bearable
The only time i EVER repackage food is to put berries into mason jars to keep them fresh for longer. And those arent plastic! Repackaging non perishable food is WILD to me like what a waste!
No I highly doubt they care or they empty it and think it’s a toy and put toys in it etc they’d totally mess it up or ignore it this is so dumb they need a hobby
In many countries energy drinks are banned for kids because young people are more sensitive to caffeine than adults. Its just so confusing for me to see that these parents care about social media more than the health of their own child.
I'd like to believe some of these people are actually restocking their own bathrooms and just say it's for their kid or because they don't wanna get shit for having certain things. There's no way some of this shit is real 💀
I had one one these for my bearded dragon lol it kept mealworms from dying as fast and it was convenient to keep his greens separated to stop the spread of salmonella
You don’t want one trust me, unless it’s a high grade one you can risk it not keeping your food cold enough (as opposed to a full sized fridge) and can risk you getting sick ❤️
There's only 3 reasons a kid might need to have a minifridge:
1. to store personal medicine/healthcare products that needs to stay chilled.
2. to store personal snacks/food items that due to dietary/medical restrictions aren't allowed to be in the communal fridge or need to be kept close.
3. if there is a major rift/trauma among the kids where giving them agency and control over their own snacks is good for therapy reasons and/or to stave off disordered eating.
❤
true all that. this needs more likes

I just watched a video how these mini refrigerators use more power than a full size American refrigerator. They don't use a compressor, it's a special chip that gets cool on one side hot on the other. They're so bad.
I was obsessed with fridgescaping, food organization, etc when I was DEEP in my anorexia. Not healthy to fixate on food THAT MUCH
This is valid.

@@miranda5138 yesss. and she decided not to show their faces at a certain age too. which is respectful. gentle parenting is needed sometimes ngl

Having a mini fridge for a foster kid that has trauma from food insecurity would be so wholesome
Honestly though? What the kids need is to be placed in a permanent home. We looked into adoption here in Canada, and the children are yanked through the system a million different ways, while there are hundreds of people who want to adopt. My only worry with this mindset, is someone, somewhere, going 'get a mini fridge, that'll fix it!'
(I'm not pooping on your comment though, just sharing a different perspective)
Or, you know. Investing in a relationship where they feel secure enough to either ask or, even better, know that there is stuff like snacks and food in the normal kitchen fridge for them to take. Or getting them a therapy to overcome the trauma they lived trough. Your idea is wholesome, but it justs adds to the blind consumerism criticized in the videos. With a frigde like that, you wouldn´t get rid of the traume, just, in the best of cases, hide some of it´s symptoms.

I think that everyone below 13 should reevaluate what they are doing like 9 yr olds doing their makeup. 9 yr olds shouldn’t be doing a full face of makeup. And toddlers shouldn’t have mini fridges.
My older sister is almost 16 and she hasn’t ever done makeup. Can’t believe 9 year olds really be using makeup
Girlie you’re 8, you don’t need that stuff until you’re like 20-20, well like that’s the youngest age you should use it
@dummyyogurt5375 this as well as the fact that if her mom posts her with makeup, or makes/encourages the kid to do grwm at a young age it can lure pedos; like I get a kid wanting to play around with it but literally dedicating an entire drawer of expensive makeup products is way too much
also just in general the fact that kids are dressing like adults more frequently, as well as using makeup/skincare (as in expensive unnecessary skincare not acne treatment) makes me worried for the safety of these kids; for example I was at the mall the other day and there was a kid that was no older than 6 wearing hoop earrings, a shirt that said "baby girl" and ripped jeans, like wtf
You're saying it like it isn't the parents fault.

They won't even notice you taking it they restock so often
They probably would want you to so they can make another restock video for views

Alot of kids like playing with makeup ( toy makeups kit that r cheappp )
i think they meant as in playing with it, a lot of children like to play around with makeup.
Kids playing with makeup is perfectly normal. But most parents only give them a lip gloss, maybe a tiny bit of blush or eyeshadow as a fun treat.
I know one kid who loved to 'match' with her mom when they went out to dinner, so she would give the daughter some pink gloss and a super light eye shadow.
dam I'm way older and I run whenever I have to put on one smidge of a lipstick😭
Right??? I wasn't allowed to wear any make-up until I was 16!
2:15 not to mention that it helps with fine motor skills, yknow, a necessary skill to practice for a growing child

Hi fellow spoonie! Another commenter mentioned these fridges do not cool down to food-safe levels. Please check into this before using for that purpose! Sending love and spoons! 💕 🥄
What does spoonie mean ?

A four year old seldom has the fine motor skills to paint their nails, hence chunky crayons. Also, who refrigerates goldfish crackers? The rationale for this mini fridges footage is to extra-fuss over foster children, which then becomes a family content issue.
Some people refrigerate a lot of food because they may have bugs in their home
@ggrieving it's more economical to store non perishables in a good glass container if you're worried about creepy crawlies or little beasties... keeps things fresh too. For years, I have saved pickle jars for this, and I bought a few good bigger containers with sealable lids. Keeps things fresh, doesn't draw electricity, and keeps the wee critters away
Overconsumption core literally hurts my soul...

A LOT of these kids are going to have MASSIVE problems when they grow up.😢
Why?
Explain what problems they're going to have because their moms gave them a mini fridge or extra amenities in their bathrooms?
@@PragmaticBLTKids do not need energy drinks and sodas. When I was a child, soda was a treat that I got very rarely
It is SAD. This child does not need deodorant or razors or what I tell my children is “big girl makeup.”
I’m not going to assume that this parent shown in the video doesn’t do this.

I knew my parents were firmly against energy drinks and they made it clear they were banned because they were unhealthy and also "don't want us having heart attacks bouncing off the walls"
This makes me think since these parents care about aesthetic so much, I doubt the kid is allowed anywhere near that fridge or that it's actually for the parents claiming that it's for their kids because that gets them views.
Of course not there's a brand to uphold!
your makeup looks extra good today! i love the eyeshadow 💗
I watch these recently, and the biggest appeal to me is the feeling of abundance. And that i wish my childhood was better, i wish that i was taken care of, that plays into it too.
I feel so gross every time I come across one of these minifridge videos
Same
It was kinda strange when I learned that people in America have spare bedrooms And Guess bathrooms ... Here u just sleep where's available ... Like the gauch or on a mattrass on floor ... And if u forgot Ur toothpaste u just use the one everyone Is using .... Same with bodywash or really anything.... Especially when it's family ...
*some people in America. This isn't normal even in the US, these people are freaks.
Too much individualism and ostentation will do that to u
We love the overconsumption core parents giving their TODDLERS mini-fridges
i have adhd. i used to use coffee and energy drinks to fall asleep. now that i’m on meds, i can’t remember the last time i got an energy drink and coffee is more of a treat for me
I have ADHD, and I used to do the same.
I still like drinking coffee but I have to be careful
can we get greta thunberg to protest outside these people's houses or something
let's just start stitching all these with the clip of greta saying "how dare you"

I've never met a toddler in my life who needed a mini fridge. When I was growing up I had to get things from the kitchen fridge.
"People were never meant to make their homes into hotels." THANK YOUU. I sometimes wish my flat was more organised and clean, but then I remember a whole human and a cat lives here, so it's never gonna be sparkly and organised perfectly. I often wonder when watching those vids "How long until they have to re-organise?" Probably daily... "How long until they have to wash 100 food containers?" They're just making more work for themselves...
Bold of you to assume they wash anything
Would the toddler even know how to use it?
I feel like the door is definitely gonna end up not being closed and the kids accidentally spoiling the food
No I highly doubt they care or they empty it and think it’s a toy and put toys in it etc they’d totally mess it up or ignore it this is so dumb they need a hobby
I agree to both of these.
They probably wouldn’t even use it anyways
@14:37 What child eats THAT MUCH butter in a week?!
Oh no
Thar sh*t is gonna expire so baaaad
I used to watch the videos, but I didn't think of it the way you did. You brought a different perspective for me. Thank you for that ❤
17:38 it’s ragebait sis they’re banking (literally) on people’s reactions
In many countries energy drinks are banned for kids because young people are more sensitive to caffeine than adults. Its just so confusing for me to see that these parents care about social media more than the health of their own child.
I'd like to believe some of these people are actually restocking their own bathrooms and just say it's for their kid or because they don't wanna get shit for having certain things. There's no way some of this shit is real 💀
I had one one these for my bearded dragon lol it kept mealworms from dying as fast and it was convenient to keep his greens separated to stop the spread of salmonella
This was my first time seeing one of your videos and the switch between American to UK accent shook me 😂 you did valley girl accent really well
Me as a kid who doesn't even have mini fridges 😭😭😭 but wished to have one 😭😭
Mini fridges are for rich folk😭
Having a mini fridge isn't normal, your not special for being a kid who doesn't have one, most adults don't. Most people also wish to have mini fridge
You don’t want one trust me, unless it’s a high grade one you can risk it not keeping your food cold enough (as opposed to a full sized fridge) and can risk you getting sick ❤️
If you do get one, get one of the bigger cube "mini" fridge. Takes up more space but it'll actually be food safe and keep things cold
Who tf does
