@@BarkleyBrixton it's totally and absolutely normal to not understand what they're talking about or even none of they are talking about, college professors assume that we already know the basis of every lesson they're teaching so they don't go in depth when explaining it. don't blame yourself! ❤️ you either have to use TH-cam/Google to learn about the subject you didn't understand or ask them to explain it in more details, don't feel discouraged you're doing amazing ❤️

I love the idea of sharing what's in our bags, but not all of us have youtube channels!!!! I'll share mine and hopefully, some others will do the same. I'm in flight school and this is what I keep in my bag! - binder with loose papers, notebooks, and my medical certificate - pencil case with pencils, pens, erasers, highlighters, calculator, whiteout etc. - iPad for looking at documents or flight schedule - front pocket with hand sanitizer, perfume, mints, hand cream, first aid kit, spare mask, oil blotting sheets, and deodorant - Pilot training record - E6B and CX-3 (flight computers) - Flight training manual, From the Ground Up, and Private Pilot Reference Guides (textbooks) - logbook - snack, keys, water bottle, and wallet - VNC map - ICAO chart ruler - sometimes I will have my headset if I am flying that day!

Hi Ruby, I've been a fan of you for a few years. I've never been to university as I went straight into office and events work after college but I am naturally quite academic. I'm going to be studying politics in a couple years, not for a goal or job at the end of it but because I want to learn and I want a challenge. This is a decision I've made in recent months, I just want to say thank you for showing me how to be organised in an academic environment over the years, I feel it has sunken in and I feel confident in my approach to the degree. Your structured way of tackling something as immense as a degree is one of the reasons I know I will be good at it, as well as my passion for the subject. I've noticed that you are actively distancing yourself from hustle culture, where productivity is the most important thing on the list. I notice that you're being present, I've noticed that you're calmer. You responded to the criticism online which I saw in parts of the internet and I am sure you did too. I just want to say well done for being such a great example despite the bullying you've faced in the past, I can see that you're a strong woman who will go on to be bold, brave and fantastic. I glued Velcro straps to the bottom of my bag so that I can carry either my tripod for photos or a small foldable chair for when I do plein air painting, or I’m just too tired and want to sit
If I came across a door where I didn’t want to touch the handle or an elevator button, I would not have the patience to open my bag, find my mini bag and search for my handkerchief to use to protect my hands. I would either just roll down my sleeves or touch it with the back of my hand and sanitise later.

Ruby, have you ever started a class with a professor and realize the teaching style just would not work for you and therefore changed professors? I'm currently struggling with this and am apprehensive on what to do.
Don't worry its totally normal to not get along with the teaching style of every professor you have. If you have the option to switch professors then i'd recommend to do it. You won't be the first student to ever do this and the professors know that learning types are just different for every student. They won't takes it personal. In the end it is your education so do what feels best to you! Is there an option to listen to the lectures of other professors to make sure that the teaching style of the new professor is more suitable for you? If yes, this could be your first step.
Can you move class under the guise that the class time doesn’t suit you? Because in my uni they have the same class at different times on different days of the week.
An update: I did transfer and only one professor really worked for my schedule. It was the best decision I've ever made! Almost like fate, he is such a fantastic teacher!

I went back to back to school this week (I started in year 9) and though I am loving the content and all of my teachers are lovely I have been finding that people have been judging me and making fun of me a lot more for trying hard in lessons and just being myself generally. I've been bullied before and I really don't want this to turn into that again. Does anyone know how to do deal with nasty comments about you or even how to make it stop?

I think it would be good to speak to someone at the school, they have a duty to stop bullying and support your wellbeing. Is there a teacher or someone else at the school who you get on well with, or would feel comfortable talking to about this? Please do speak to someone, even if it's a friend or family member who you would feel comfortable helping you with this. Look after yourself, and do let us know how you get on, but only if you feel comfortable sharing that. I also wonder if you have good friends at school, with similar interests or who also work hard like you? I was at school a long time ago (I'm now a mature student at University) but I found certain people at school really difficult to deal with, until I found a group of friends who were all really hardworking, and a bit different like me! If you don't have other friends w similar approaches to school perhaps there are some extra curricular clubs you could join? I found developing friends who seemed more like me really helped my confidence. These people sound very unkind, but try to remember you will learn and achieve everything you want to by working hard. Maybe they are intimidated by how hard you work or just aren't happy in themselves. I wonder if there are some online resources to help or give advice too, maybe have a look xx

I went back to back to school this week (I started in year 9) and though I am loving the content and all of my teachers are lovely I have been finding that people have been judging me and making fun of me a lot more for trying hard in lessons and just being myself generally. I've been bullied before and I really don't want this to turn into that again. Does anyone know how to do deal with nasty comments about you or even how to make it stop?
hi i hope your problem will improve people can be so mean i wish you good luck i don't really have any tips to help you but just if you see that it is going too far or that it is too much hard or when you feel the need talk with someone whether it is an adult or not but don't stay alone to invest in it's studies it's great I'm sure you're an amazing person (sorry for my English is not my native language)🥺☺️

I think it would be good to speak to someone at the school, they have a duty to stop bullying and support your wellbeing. Is there a teacher or someone else at the school who you get on well with, or would feel comfortable talking to about this? Please do speak to someone, even if it's a friend or family member who you would feel comfortable helping you with this. Look after yourself, and do let us know how you get on, but only if you feel comfortable sharing that.
I also wonder if you have good friends at school, with similar interests or who also work hard like you? I was at school a long time ago (I'm now a mature student at University) but I found certain people at school really difficult to deal with, until I found a group of friends who were all really hardworking, and a bit different like me! If you don't have other friends w similar approaches to school perhaps there are some extra curricular clubs you could join?
I found developing friends who seemed more like me really helped my confidence.
These people sound very unkind, but try to remember you will learn and achieve everything you want to by working hard. Maybe they are intimidated by how hard you work or just aren't happy in themselves.
I wonder if there are some online resources to help or give advice too, maybe have a look xx
