James Fox , have to admit, that’s what I immediately thought too😂
Nevertheless, I couldn’t imagine my yard without bananas in it🤷🏻‍♀️

I thought this too. Don't be to hard on Pam she has to maintain the yard with only one income she has to be more financially responsible

Yes that's why I clicked so fast. Still he is one to overdo it on the watering so her argument stands, in dry years its definitely not worth the cost.

I have also found banana growing in san diego, where we can go 9 months without rain regularly, totally wild in ditches

I've seen wild guavas just growing in ditches in Los Angeles too. Persimmons in vacant lots and wild macadamia nut trees.

Hey Shamus, when you say mulching, what do you think of chop and dropping their own biomass, or some other form of mulch?

check out greening the desert project in the dead sea valley in Jordan with Geoff Lawton, they have bananas growing out there, it obviously must be worth it.

In order to get better production of banana, you need to leave only up to three trees in the bunch/corm. The suckers need to be transplanted elsewhere or cut/culled.

Do you think these will grow equally well in Las Vegas at roughly 3000' elevation?
