    Excellent thank you very much for this video I recently bought a spot in the locker to install and I’m gonna go ahead and do that I feel much more comfortable after watching your video… On another note I am surprised since you had yours on the part you didn’t add a locker to the front anyway thank you again

    No offense, dude but you used way too much gasket maker, you only need a very tin layer. Otherwise a great video, vey informative and detailed. I subbed right away after I watched the first one of your videos. Keep up the great content.

    I need to remove most of these components to repair the frame cracks on the engine mounts and install reinforcing gussets. I noticed I have quite some power steering fluid leaking down. I guess I'll have to consider doing steering too

      The rack seems fine but one of the inner tie rods it comes with seems to be very noisy which is too bad! I would recommend OEM of course but so far it has done the job.

    How did you figure your steering rack was bad as well as your steering shaft? What did you feel to diagnose that. Plus did your repair work for your front plastic hose piece you broke?

    • @FJX2000_Productions
      @FJX2000_Productions  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No the repair for the breather line didn't last unfortunately, but as far as what I felt, it just didnt feel tight and responsive as it once was and it leaked slightly from the boots which I knew was a slight of internal wear and tear and I figured getting a new one would help. The lower steering shaft ended up not really NEEDing to be replaced as the one in removed had no noticable play in it but I replaced it anyways since I had the new part already.

    Did this resolve your wandering/pulling issue? I starting to experience the same on my 2007. I have some movement in the rack bushings. I also have considered my icon uca bushings too. Thanks!

    • @FJX2000_Productions
      @FJX2000_Productions  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do think it tightened things up a bit but I would be sure to rebuild your Icon UCAs if you haven't recently. I had to rebuild by Total Chaos UCAs not long ago but I'm probably due for another within a couple years

    • @jdmsi92
      @jdmsi92 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FJX2000_Productions I feel like my steering rack has internal issues but I just rebuilt the uca not too long ago. I also have had 35s and spacers on since brand new so I suspect it has to be something within the rack. I’m afraid replacing it may help for a short period but in the end the steering rack on these as well as Lexus, Tacoma, etc all are under built.

      @FJX2000_Productions  ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally haven't but I have been wheeling with someone who did once. Hit an obstacle during a hill climb too hard and bent it. It would have been a good idea to have upgraded spindles or reinforced ones before wheeling that hard.

    Hey bro I have a vibration in my front side of my Fj Cruiser I don’t know if it’s coming from the CV axles or the X join in the front shaft I already replaced the two CV axles yesterday we’re still doing the same I don’t know if is the angle in the CV axles probably that I don’t know what else to do

    • @FJX2000_Productions
      @FJX2000_Productions  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it vibration that happens at certain speeds? Where do you feel it? The steering wheel? Usually the first place to look is tires and wheels since they may need to be rotated and balanced to ensure no wobble or shakiness at speed.

      A few months later the rack had a leak coming out of one of the input or output lines so I undid it, applied some Kevlar tape, and tightened it back up and that fixed the leak. But after a year of running with the Detroit Axle rack it starting clicking and squeaking when I turn so I’m replacing it soon with a new OEM rack unfortunately. 🤷‍♂️
