In this video, I show the plug harness. It is on the passenger side of the transmission, this plugs into the solenoid pack inside the transmission. It is sometimes hidden behind a heat shield on the side of transmission.
@@robothegreatful for me I had to rebuild. Not really the whole thing. But it was internal. The snap ring for the overdrive assembly was popped out of its Grove. Which is very common on these transmissions. So I upgraded the snap ring and it should be we pop out again like the factory designed snap ring.
@@SchlongVelez for anyone struggling, my 2-3 shift valve in the main valve body was stuck. I took the pan off, the main valve body off, and popped the valve back into place. I have a huge forum post on full size Bronco if anyone needs help.
The wire we replaced was from the TPS on the throttle body down to the ECM. I give a better explanation in my other video and comments. You can watch my other videos to see what all I did.
I have the same shifting problem. Which wire is the signal wire from the tps? How did you figure out it was bad? Did you have any codes? Great vid. THANKS
I think I covered it in one of my videos or comments. I took it to a friend who is a mechanic. He tested the wires there are only 3. He found a schematic on line to find the terminal on the ECM. He found one that was bad and we spliced in a new one. Luckily for me my friend helped. But I had pretty much eliminated everything else. I can't remember the codes. I also sold my motorhome. Good luck..
@@2lotony OK thanks a lot. I know what you mean when you said in the vid that its when you are going around 15 mph the trans shifts way up into higher gears! I will definitely take note of everything and appreciate your responses.
We have a 96 f250 with the idi 7.3 and the e4od. We too have low gear shift problems, major delay and Rev and no forward thrust. Itbtend to brake the differential or downshifting to abruptly even on the downhill, once foot isn't supplying throttle
Additionally, the fluidblevel reads real.high past the hot max on district, but reads below cold minimum when hot. This is a reversal of what's normal. So I xant figure out if fluid is too low or too high. And there's sign of a leakage at the yoke plug, but also above rear tranny mount, and mount bolts are all soaked in fluid. However no dripping while parked. Fluid seems to be lost while driving or in drive and drives haft turning. Any ideas anyone?
I had a bad signal wire from my TPS to my ECM. I replaced the wire and that fixed my problem. The brand new TPS was also bad. But main issue was the wire.

Problem Fixed!! Bad signal wire from TPS to ECM, ran new wire. Problem solved!!
Whats the location of the wire? My 90s E4OD wont shift to 3rd or 4th.
@@SchlongVelez Did you ever fix your issue? I have the same problem.
