Great explanation! Like you, I freeze and stumble over my words as soon as the camera is on. If you never mentioned using a teleprompter, I would have never known. Excellent video and look forward to more!
That's why the PPT Mirror tool that converts powerpoint slides into teleprompter software was designed for that, no one knows you are reading-off a teleprompter, and the tool works with any device one every browser.
I just tried to record myself talk about a topic that I know by heart but when the camera started rolling I froze up and forgot what I wanted to say!! LOL
Hes bragging like 6 hours is way to much work while there are people working 9-5 every single day and only get minimum wage. Hes very lucky he only has to do 6 hours.
Wouldn't say I bragging, if anything I was complaining. While I'm very lucky to be in a position to make TH-cam videos, keep in mind I have a full-time job outside of TH-cam and have a family/kids. So 6 hours is long time for my schedule. Anyway I can cut that down is huge for me.
This was very helpful. You just earned a new subscriber. I’ve been trying to shoot my first TH-cam Talking Head video, now, for about the last two months (!) and I keep goofing up! A teleprompter is the answer! Maybe along down the line, after 100 bad videos, I may get the confidence to speak extemporaneously, but, for now, I’m grateful for your review of this Padcaster product and I’m taking your advice! 👍🏾👊🏾
Amazing review! I will check it out for sure. I could not tell you were using it the entire video. A TH-camr friend used one and I can tell very fast that he’s using one.
It's video production. If done well it takes time and hard work. Using a teleprompter well is an art. It used to take our talent a bit to get used to using them. Writing your own copy makes it a lot easier. You're doing well with it. That unit is pretty small, but it'll do for close-up work. Thanks for the post.
haha, you have convinced me. I have just purchased TMP100 teleprompter. It is good but it has a big problem for me. It blocks the screen of my camera (Canon M50). I am the one person business, shot and talk, so I have to see myself over the screen of the camera to position myself right. I assume Parrot 2 have no problem, right? What about Desview T2 which is bigger? Thanks
Thank you for this! I'm in serious need a dang telemprompter. I can memorize scripts without camera, but like you, once the camera starts recording I I tend to forget, ramble, go off scripts--it's frustrating, gonna see if I can get myself one!
Such good information and I appreciate you making this video----I dread doing sit down videos but want to make more for my TH-cam channel- just bought this through your link! THANK YOU! new sub and friends from Northern CA!
Thanks. I want one, but annoyingly you can't get them in the uk... You're not making the most of that mic btw - stick it on a stand just out of shot above your head and it'll sound a million times better.
I bought one of these last year and while its ideal, i had some trouble with the weight of the Teleprompter+Mobile Phone (medium-size) attaching to my mirrorless camera lense interferring with the auto-focus. Did you experience any problems. Also, I recommend a subscription app called PromptSmartPro for your phone which has voice recognition and scrolls inline with the speech of your voice. Simply amazing.
Great video. Thank you for posting. I’m suffering from exactly the same thing you describe and I didn’t realise they were so inexpensive. I’ve got a canon m6 mk2 mirrorless and am wondering if you have any light refraction effects with the lens going through the glass plate , glare, skylight filter needed etc. I think my canon will work, like yours. I think once you get comfortable you can then start ad libbing a bit because you always know what is coming next. Can I also ask if you have to use any types of telephoto lenses etc. Wouldn’t you put the iPhone long ways to match the width of lens - but then difficult to read sentences , unlike width ways. I would have thought if you placed it width ways you might see the eyes scanning but then as the eye movements are slight maybe not. Thank you for any help you can give me. I do HiFi videos as you’ve prob guessed.
BIG question! I'm looking for teleprompters to use with our Sony HXR-NX100 camera. What makes this camera different than most is that it has the onboard microphone and hot shoe protruding forward from the lens (and above it). That part of the camera sticks out about 1.5 inches in front of the lens. I'm worried that these simple teleprompters that slide over a lens adapter won't work because they won't have "clearance" from that onboard mic and hot shoe. Please take a look at pictures/specs of the NXR-NX100 and let me know if this option will work.
Hi thanks for the review:) It’s important to mention that you need to work with a crop sensor or crop when it comes to wide angle lenses - otherwise you’ll get a vignetting all over. 50 mil with full frame should be ok though
Hi, thanks so much for your explain, Im youtube creator few months ago, and last week buy a Sony ZV1 camera, my question is : that telepromter is suitable to work with this sony zv1 camera ? Thanks for your cooperation
Well, there is an adapter piece that goes around your lens that the teleprompter snaps into. So it's more so using the weight of your lens vs actually snapping into your lens. The teleprompter is SUPER lightweight.
Hello! Amazing Video. I just Have one question. Does using the Teleprompter Deteriorate the video quality in any way? I am wondering that glass in front of the lense will alter the quality that is getting recorded. If you can do a video footage A/B comparison with the teleprompter and without the teleprompter that will be amazing.
thank you so much for this. I've ordered it. MY QUESTION IS, how do you create your script? I hope you'll notice my question and answer. Again, thank YOU for sharing this!!!
not sure if front of ur lens will be comfrtable taking that amount of weight with teleprompter as well as mobile phone especially the new phones are pretty heavy
A few thinks I noticed in reviews is people claiming it wont work with sigma 16mm lens, and also that anything wider than 50mm shows the teleprompter edges in the shot. is this true?
Great video! Very informative! Was this entire video shot using a Canon EOS Rebel T3i? If so, do you have a video that covers setup (settings, lighting, microphone, etc) with this camera and the pros/cons versus using a newer camera? Thanks!
Thanks for love! So the actual footage you see was all shot on the Canon SL2. You'll see the T3i in the b-roll shots but that is because it was essentially being used as a prop to demonstrate how the teleprompter would look on a camera.

Great review, short and to the point. I am just getting started with recording - was planning on using my high-end, standalone web cam, but seems that is not supported with this model. Possible to rig it for support using a tripod? Or maybe you have an alternate suggestion?
Did you know I've done an updated video highlighting a new teleprompter I love? Check it out!

I definitely couldnt been able to tell that you were using a teleprompter in this video. You definitely are skilled at it. Well done.
Great review, thanks. I'm in serious need of one of these.
Hey, funny seeing you here! I was missing your videos and just now realised I had been unsubscribed. Keep up the good work!

Not heavy at all!

Thanks for this review! I've never heard of the Parrot 2 and many other brands are so expensive.
The fun is in the "doing". I want a teleprompter that makes me look smart!
Yes, that's it and make it more smarter by start using your Powerpoint presentation with an iPad. but you would have to flip the slides.

I'd heard it starts Vignetting at 28mm or wider. I just switched it from a 50mm to a 24mm on my Canon T7i and I am not having a problem!

Minimally, as long as it's clean and you've got the light blocked from getting in the back. It's unlikely that you'd notice it there.
thank you so much for this. I've ordered it. MY QUESTION IS, how do you create your script? I hope you'll notice my question and answer. Again, thank YOU for sharing this!!!

I use the Parrot teleprompter app
What it work for HandyCams (such as the Sony AX-45)? How about smaller-scale cameras like the Canon G7x?
What about a gopro? Will it attach to one that you are recording from?
