- Huge shoutout to Ben Hardy for letting me drive his Ram TRX. In this video we do a quick walkaround comparison of the Ram TRX next to my Ford Raptor and then I take it for a drive where I do my first launch control in the TRX and give my opinion on how the truck drives on road.

I was gonna wait for the Raptor R but dealers say nothing and it will for sure be at minimum 20k more than current raptor and will be fairly limited. TRX here I come trading in 19 Raptor!!!

Sick video man!! IMO, I think the Raptor looks so much more bad ass. I almost leased a TRX for the time I needed to wait for my Bronco. The inside is really nice. Hopefully the Raptor R will be better. It already looks better and those 37s....

I have Both, Raptor and a TRX. TRX blows the Raptor away in every way. Its funny how reluctant you are to admit it, especially in the beginning of your video. You should drive the TRX in Manual mode. It actually upshifts and downshifts immediately, unlike the Raptor. When u lock the rear diff in the trx, it truly locks. My Raptor doesn't rip the inner tire like the TRX does. In the Raptor we had to change the rear springs and lift the front to stop wheel hop and make it level. The TRX is good to go, so good that the 2021 Raptor copies the TRX with the suspension, and everything else. TRX Shocks fully mode adjustable, Raptor the shocks just Baja mode. So many ways the TRX is better. My Raptor, I keep having to replace phasers and timing chains. How many of you on cold start with the raptor get to here the chains slapping? Ford has let me down on the GT 500, and the Raptor.. Management at Ford, always behind.. and the 2021 Raptor..where is it??

Haha you can’t even put a TRX in 2wd, why? B/c the engineers KNOW the rest of the drivetrain can’t handle it lol- zero other reason they’d do that. Meanwhile….a stock Gen3 Raptor is putting down more TQ to the wheels than rated @ the crank (look it up). Raptors weigh 750 lbs less, and a lot of the extra weight on the TRX is over the nose. They have smaller/weaker shocks despite the extra weight….not ideal! The have a 33 gallon vs 36 gallon tank in a raptor, yet get 5-6mpg worse….again, def not ideal for offroad (or in general)
@@MS-mr4zm the reason why the TRX has awd is because it has +700 hp there's no point of rwd especially that the TRX is rwd biased and a truck that's capable of hitting 0 to 60 in 3.5 sec I'm pretty sure the drivetrain will hold up
@@dor1tomcswagger69 if it for sure wouldn’t hold up if they’d allow you to run it in 2wd. This ain’t up for debate, it’s cuz it has “so much power”- in a way yeah you’re right, it’s overpowered relative to what it’s rear diff, axles, U joints, drive shaft, tranny, torque converter, etc can handle. I can think of another Ram truck that’s got MORE power (TQ) & is intended to do harder stuff- their Cummins HD trucks- & they can run in 2wd lol, foolish statement. Initial TQ transfer is what’s gonna break shit more than likely in a truck like this (or the 392 wrangler & Trackhawk- also both of which have no 2wd) while the Raptor is RATED @ 510tq stock Gen3s have dynoed @ more than that to the wheels- saw goosetuned post a 518rwtq figure on a bone stock Gen3 running 91 octane. That means it’s making damn near 700TQ @ the crank….& there’s a crap load of gen2 ttV6 raptors running around w/ 93 octane tunes making similar or more TQ/Hp w/ 6 figures on the ODO. The Ram engineers KNOW what they’re doing- rather than rely on beefed up parts of different sizes/placement across multiple vehicles (axles/diffs/bearings/U-joints/front-rear drive shafts, endlinks, bushings etc etc etc are all going to be different from wrangler to Ram to GC- you know what isn’t tho? The T-case/tranny/ though? Can use the same in all those vehicles & use that + software + full time “4wd” (aka a BS versa ion of AWD) w/ no 2wd option was certainly the cheaper “catch all” engineering solution vs. actually beefing up allllll the individual components necessary bespoke to each vehicle individually to guarantee the thing doesn’t grenade itself when pushing it hard.

I love the "Launch" Feature. I get 2 miles per gallon! Gasoline is $6.23 a gallon and it would cost me $ 200 to fill up !
Ben nailed it. The TRX is a luxo-muscle truck that is off road capable....whereas the Raptor is an off-road truck that is drivable on-road. PS....Ben's truck broke in February. This video was filmed a week later. Why posting this in May?
The TRX is awesome on road, but it’s hardly proven off road yet. I filmed this video awhile ago and have been too busy to edit/post it. 🤷🏽♂️

As a fan of neither brands, I can say that the gen 2 and gen 3 Raptors are 2 of the most innovative 4x4 trucks ever made!... The TRX is great, but using a big supercharged 6.2 engine seems to be Ram's parent company's (Stellantis) answer to everything.

Give me a break, I have both, and the Raptor falls behind in every catagory except fuel consumption, and the Raptor isn't much better. I was a Ford guy. Ford anymore takes so long to come out with their new product, that when they come out they are old news.. The Raptor with a Tune, is still 200hp less than a TRX without a tune.. doesn't take much to get 900hp out of the TRX, lets see you do that with the V6 in the Raptor, apples for apples. Come on admit it, TRX one upe'd the Raptor. The tires on the Raptors are awful in the rain too.. liking the goodyears on the TRX much better, and they are more aggressive for offroad..than the KO2's.. climb out of the Raptor Rut, and admit it, the TRX is Awesome!

It puts down 600 horsepower to the wheels with instant torque. Even a tuned raptor won’t hang with a TRX.

I’m sorry Bill, have you not seen a tuned GooseTuned raptor go against a TRX? On e50? Go to Goosetuned page on Instagram and look up the video. The raptor totally hangs with the TRX.
