Truely an audio routing master!! This helped me overcome daw control limitations on the new Tascam model 2400. Now I can use the abelton instuments, track them in the MPC, and assign those tracks to the Tascam inputs for track mixing. Was going to return this to Sweetwater for the Tascam model 12....now I get to keep it! Thanks!

Hi, Thank you but I feel like the new MPC application / software has no possibility of midi mapping - maybe I'm wrong but It's impossible for me to map as you do... And it's unfortunate because it would my last solution to bring the audio quickly from my MPC one to Ableton since the other solution to go through the plug in and then send the output directly to ableton is not even working for me .. Lol don't know what i've done wrong but i could use some help.

Nice tutorial! I found it much easier to not seq that way, but to use ableton link. The workflow is much faster to get ideas out and plus any sounds I pull from ableton, Maschine and so on, I record directly to the mpc. This way you can truly take advantage of the standalone when your on the go or tracking out in the big studio.

  • @habemusfyah

This is incredible! I did it with my MPC Studio controller (mk1/grey version) and MPC 1.9.7 and now I can sequence all my midi on the MPC software and rely on Ableton to host all my sounds and effects... Thank you ! This video is incredible !
Now I wanna buy a MPC Live so then I can sequence midi with it, sample the audio from Ableton back to the MPC, make my own library and turn off the computer :D
I also realized that the midi routing options are not available on MPC Beats. :/

I'm trying to do this method on the MPC studio but my MIDI/Synce options don't allow me to assign to Port A. The settings just look a little different. I'm using 2.8.12. Hello thanks for this tips but I would like to know if this technic is always possible to apply in 2024 because I just got myself an MPC One + and when I go to preferences menu the interface is not similar to the interface that you show us, there is not Midi but rather Midi/Sync with another submenu and is impossible to chose port A , there is absolutely no port A. Even the interface of MPC 2 is different; Please, is there a new way to do this? Finally there is one last thing I would like to know: when I use MPC 2 as plugin in Ableton, the rec button one my MPC One + no longer works although it works fine when I use MPC Beats in Ableton, is this normal? In Standalone mode, all the buttons of my MPC One + work well, please can you help me ? Thanks

Hi! Do you have any advise on how to setup the MPC in windows? If I select MPC public, my MPC key 61 doesn't send any MIDI signal in Ableton. Tried many ways without success. Akai support can't help. So I'm very disappointed with Akai, this is a very ridiculous situation and it's not a good message for their products. Do you have the solution in Windows? Thanks anyway.

Thanks for watching, it does work the same way with MPC 2.8. The MIDI menu in the MPC Preferences just looks a little different now. When you go to preferences just go down to "MIDI/SYNC and under Input ports make sure the IAC Driver does not have "Master, Control, or Track selected. Then in the Output ports section Make the IAC Driver does have both the Sync and Track buttons selected. Also make sure when you go to record the audio and MIDI into ableton that you have the sync output set to MIDI Clock in that same preferences window in the MPC 2.8 software. It's the same exact workflow they just changed the user interface a little. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot for the video!
    Just a couple of questions.
    1. Is the MPC one in standalone mode or in controller mode? I do not really use the MPC software so that is why it is not instantly obvious to me.
    2. You mentioned the delay at the end of the video. Is that only with warping or is it for midi tracks as well when you start recording. My MPC one and Ableton just to do not seem to be fully completely in sync so I am thinking if it is the same thing.
    3. Just so that I would understand, how is this method different than basically just connecting the MPC one via Midi straight into computer/ableton and using the 16 midi tracks?
    Thanks!
