    Wildwood Guitars is honored to present what we feel is the ultimate in vintage correct accuracy and detail: The True Historic Series. For years, the Gibson Custom Shop has made exceptional strides and gone to painstaking lengths to improve upon their wonderful Historic reissues. Each year, the result is an instrument that has gotten closer and closer to vintage correct accuracy and tone.
    The ante has been upped yet again with an unparalleled leap in accuracy and vintage vibe. Improving upon their legendary Historic line, the Gibson Custom Shop has achieved obsessive detail and scary-authentic accuracy by studying the materials, manufacturing techniques and specifications of original vintage instruments. The True Historic line from the Gibson Custom Shop honors the legacy of some of the most sought after instruments on the planet, paying homage by replicating the finest details and nuances. From new plastics composed of the original vintage spec material, to the double carving of tops and necks to ensure vintage accurate profiles and dishing, these True Historic reissues are about as close as it get's to owning a real vintage instrument. But the eye for detail doesn't stop there... A new finish process with time-intensive wet sanding by hand completes the package, delivering an instrument that not only looks authentic, but feels and sounds authentic too. Capped off with all hide glue construction and extensive setup process, the new True Historic line captures the essence of our favorite vintage pieces and creates a new era of golden age instruments just waiting to be discovered. Due to the time-intensive labor and old world manufacturing processes, True Historic models are extremely limited in production. Be sure to check back frequently for the latest available inventory here at Wildwood Guitars.

    I don't know if its the guitar or what, but this is the best tone I've ever heard from Greg K. Was this before he used Koch amps? I wonder if its the gristle king pedal.

      I was thinking the same thing. If I want to pay essentially DOUBLE the price for a "Tom Murphy age job," it better look older than this.

      yeatzee7786 Aged guitars are always shiny. Brush the dust off of a real 59 Burst and it'll shine, too.

    • @YeatzeeGuitar
      @YeatzeeGuitar 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** If that were true why would Gibson sell the VOS treatment as their first stage of aging available? VOS hazes the finish. I own a 63 SG junior that isn't shiny like a new SG as well fwiw

    • @detrickj8006
      @detrickj8006 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeatzee7786 A 63 SG Junior is far from a 59 Burst... You could have easily taken five minutes to see for yourself all of the videos featuring original 59s that shine just like this one.

    • @YeatzeeGuitar
      @YeatzeeGuitar 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** You're grasping at straws here, obviously different guitars but only 4 years separate them so wear and tear can be compared. Any *played* guitar that is half a century old is not going to look shiny like this LP unless it was polished and buffed. Period. Closet queens, under the bed finds sure, nobody questions that. Gibson's VOS finish like I stated is specifically designed to take that shine away on VOS LP's. Theres a million forum threads out there about the VOS treatment and the gunk Gibson puts on the guitars to dull them. Besides all that, getting back to my original post its a Tom Murphy aged guitar, which as Dinosaur David B stated means you are paying substantially more for his aging versus VOS / Gloss / any other aging. If you're paying those prices you'd want that fact to be immediately apparent, and the guitar to not look like the cheapest iteration of a true historic LP (the Gloss ones). Keep fighting me on this all you want, but I'll stick to what I said... It looks awfully shiny for an aged guitar! What a ridiculous thing to try and fight somebody over lol

    • @soufly27
      @soufly27 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that's a lot of money ! But look at the price of the original... 400 000$ at less...
      I have the 1957 Goldtop and... just my best guitar, never had this feeling with any other. So strange to see the gibson line up traditional 2015 and the true historic series comes of the same compagnie. Gibson make always very fine instruments. So if you have the chance to have the opportunity to buy one of this someday... do it ! you will not regret ! :)

    • @Schlumbucketreturns
      @Schlumbucketreturns 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's why nobody wants them and folks are practically giving them away. The Custom Historic and Collectors Choice series are especially undesirable. But the worst Les Pauls of all are those shitty sunbursts they made from '58 to '60. They are so shitty sounding and undesirable I've heard of people chopping them up to use as firewood.
