I would totally get a Switch for this if they remastered it for the new Gen system. For now, I'll have to play it on the Wii as I just bought it today and it's the first ever Pokémon game I have ever played.
I totally forgot about how beautiful this game is and I would love to see them make either a remake because of the amazing character models and graphics. This should have been the potential for Pokemon games and hopefully, it could look like this.
Very well put video! I don't know if anyone else remembers them, but way back in the day, I would always watch AngeloBlaze and PrinceBoo21's PBR videos. They were the two who initially sparked my interest in competitive Pokemon all those years ago and even to this day, I still love PBR for all of its beautiful animations. It's been such an underrated gem ever since Nintendo Wi-Fi shut down in 2014.
100% agreed. Yes I also watched PrinceBoo21, he has iconic legendary teams and so does Angelo! I still to this day go back and watch a couple of their vids to relive the nostalgia from this game. Thank you for watching!
BigNation I agree with everything you're saying. I've been saying for years that we need an official battle simulator like PBR. It's been 16 years since PBR and we haven't had anything like it. PBR did not sell when it was released and It seemed like the developers didn't want to make another one because it wasn't worth doing and that it would be a big risk. But I do believe that it needs to happen. The need for it is the strongest its ever been especially since the newer games won’t let you transfer all of our Pokemon to them. If we had a PBR game that included all 1008 Pokemon, all gimmicks, 22+ colosseums both old and new, a spectator mode, 1008 Rental Pokemon including all legendaries and mythicals, online tournament events including VGC, Pokemon Showdown functionality that would allow to change the parameters of a Pokemon, Pokken tournament graphics, Full character customization, A wide variety of outfits, A wide Variety of battle passes, The optional to use Rental Pokemon for online tournament events and more, then this game would be a very huge success. This game has the ability to improve and be bigger and better than it ever was. It would obviously take a lot of work and a pretty huge budget. I truly believe that if we had a PBR game with all of these things, we would be living in a Golden Age. I believe that if the developers make a new PBR game, it would a huge success. It has great potential. It could be so big that it could even get attention from the News. Instead of waiting around and praying that we’ll one day get a new PBR game, we should tell the developers that we want it. If enough people tell them this, there’s a good chance they’ll probably do it. We have to let them know that we the fans matter and that we won’t settle for anything less than the absolute best.
This game perfected the battle camera. it really emphasises how powerful moves can be while not disorientating the player. its just fantastic, (Also Blastoise has a unique animation for hydro pump. witch is something you would expect and its appreciated.)
Speaking of the Pokemon animations, contrary to popular belief, Gamefreak doesn't do the models and animations for the Pokemon, Creatures Inc does. And not only have they worked on Sword and Shield, but Battle Revolution as well. So when the "Laziness" concerning the Pokemon animations is brought into question, it's often Gamefreak who get blamed, but really it's Creatures Inc.
And game freak don't have quality control? If the game animations are garbage, the director of the game have to step up and do something about It. If someone needs to be fired It has to be done. If the company respondible can't do the work, then It's time to find another who can. Look at Smash Bros, in all installments we had awesome animations for every character, there is no excuse. Gamefreak have billions in their accounts, they have more than enough to pay for good animations.
Once I saw the title I knew this would be a banger of a video! I played this as a kid but not as much as my younger brother, he loved it so much. Bro imagine they released gen 4 remakes and later in the games life cycle they introduced a pbr as DLC or as a feature in the game! I think that would be great

What's also cool is that bootleg cartridges work with the game. My authentic Pokemon diamond doesn't work anymore but the bootleg copy definitely imports Pokemon in

I started with the rental passes, but I I figured I had to have a stronger team to face stronger opponents after the first run through all the coliseums. So, I completed Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum and then created my custom passes.

PBR is one of my fave game because it contains the first four generations that I've enjoyed and loved, plus you can mix them to create your personal teams and battle with other trainers or do the story with them :) I hope this game revives one day, even if I personally don't like gen 7,8,9 of the franchise.

Battle Revolution was the first Pokémon game that allowed random online matches with strangers where D/P/P/HG/SS only allowed online battles with people you have in your DS'es friendlist.
Been a long time since playing or purchasing a Pokemon game. As someone who is more of a traditionalist up until about gen 5/6. I wish there was a game that cast the Pokemon black and white games up to PBR! It killed me, so much so that I NEVER played Black and White and still haven't or ANY for that matter. I digress, they really should push a newer and better version of it to the switch or remake for the Nintendo Wii!
At the end of the Switch’s life, Game Freak should get back Genius Sonority to make a Battle Revolution remake that includes every Pokémon, and allows you to bring over Pokémon from Home and other Pokémon Switch games to the game to battle in.
They should honestly make an ultimate fierce most powerful remake of it as well as to revive the Z-Moves, Bond Phenomenon, Gigantamax and Mega-Evolutions to enjoy whatever people want to use them to their hearts’ ultimate contents regardless of the toxic dark side fandom. Your thoughts?
This game is one of the only time it feels like nintendo / gamefreak listened to the fans One of the best pokemon games ever released by far simply for the beautifully detailed battle system, models, and animations. Switch games are a joke compared to this... even the new one, legends of arceus, looks worse than this. HOW?
If you don't use a DS to transfer Pokemon to the game, you only get rental passes, of which there are only two, and I can't switch between the two! I'm sure doing so is possible, but I haven't figured out how. Only 6 Pokemon are available on either pass, and yeah, they're different for each of the two passes, but that's only 12 Pokemon! Plus, no story mode, and you don't have an archive of Pokemon where all of them (the current amount of Pokemon at the time of the game's release) are available for battle! I really don't like this game, personally.
Interesting take. Seems to me that you haven’t explored the game thoroughly. You can get multiple rental passes and exchange them out for other Pokémon in Gateway Colosseum. This game wasn’t meant to have a story, it’s a battle simulator which served its purpose well. Guidebooks which I have came out at the games release to archive all data about the game and how to obtain certain things. Simply not researching well enough to provide a take like this can be simply debunked. However, if you didn’t like the game then that’s fine. It’s your opinion.
I didnt like this game, it was a stripped down version of the stadium series. And yeah it was cool to play plat/gold in 3d but it becomes a tool at that point. And online was boring to me because well online games on wii were just lame vs pc or xbox because there was no social aspect, might as well play the computer. As a tool it was great but as a stand alone game it sucked.

My Wii has stopped reading this game so now I cannot play it, but It’s an amazing game and I wish I could still play it
