Birth Island. Everything about its atmosphere is jarringly different from every other place in Hoenn. Almost creepy. The unnatural, triangular shape, the dead silence and the fact, theres nothing on it, except, for a weird, grey triangle thingy. *Chefs kiss*. Also, I love Deoxys, and its out of this world (heh) theme.

I love the Hoenn region. I've played through emerald version so many times. Pretty much every area in Hoenn holds a memorable moment for me.

I love that little spot when you first climb the waterfall and reach Ever Grande City. It's not really a city, there's just a single PokeCenter there, but the isolation makes it feel so cozy. If I lived in Hoenn, I would hang around with Nurse Joy in that PokeCenter all day, and get all excited when a new trainer showed up to challenge the League.
Pokemon Ruby was my first Pokemon game! Hoenn will always have a special place in my heart! I think Hoenn has the best soundtrack. You Earned yourself a new subscriber!
Still, my favorite region, Pokemon Sapphire, was my first Pokemon game, and other than childhood nostalgia. I really have to shout out the show for enhancing the atmosphere of Hoenn. Like from Pokemon Advance to Battle Frontier made Hoenn look even better ❤
I don't think Hoenn needs a snowy area. It is a warmer region so it wouldn't make sense. I hate when they put a snowy area in a map just for the sake of it, like in modern Pokémon regions. Besides, Hoenn already has the Shoal Cave icy room, so it isn't like Hoenn lacks an icy place completely
@@danielcm4237 i mean snow isn't exclsuive to the region, so long as their are high enough mountains you can have snowy mountain peaks. In a round about way, a giant mountain made my groudon could easily become a snow peak.
I love this. I really enjoy Sabrina's region reviews and hope to see other ppl make a take in the regions as well. I hope the series continues for other regions
You forgot Mauville City, how it is essentially the crossroads of the region, New Mauville, how they represent the industrial trying to impose itself onto the natural and cycling road. You also forgot the abandoned ship, the sheer amount of mystique that comes with figuring out how it got stuck or sea Mauville in ORAS where it was a failed project by Watson to use infinity energy. You also forgot the southern water routes and the area outside of meteor falls that feels like a secluded beach or the many secluded islets you can visit by diving, and Shoal cave and how it varies with the time of day and how it combines the water and the caves and just how cozy and secluded the ice area in the lower cave feels and how great it feels to find out that there's more to discover. And of course who can forget sky pillar and how it's one of the most unique dungeons for a legendary with the crumbling floor or the mirage tower which combines the crumbling floor with the tower which also disappears after you pick a fossil and desert underpass in emerald and how they connect so well.
TBH GAME FREAK need to make a mega pokemon game every 10 years every region every gym leader island challenge battle frontier battle resort just have everything in one game that way we can have routes n free world play
I don't think I can ever pick a favorite region out of the first 3 cause that's what I grew up on, but they really nailed the landscape diversity in this one
Is it just me or did you forget mauville city despite being such an important crossroads-city in the early game? And the actual desert part of the desert too ig Just kinda stuck out to me because those are places you pretty much have to go through, unlike e.g. the sunken ship :P Great video, hoenn for president ✊
Yeah I definitely meant to go over those plus the abandoned ship and shoal cave but I somehow just forgot them when writing the script and didn't notice until editing 😭 thanks for watching!
@@FargusPhil Relatable, also damn how did *I* forget about shoal cave?? That's like my second favorite location right behind route 113! Thanks for making this video and for replying! :)
this is so great; even after countless play-thrus i'd never really noticed or appreciated some of the details you point out here. and totally agree about slateport for sure
Gen 2 is my favorite but Hoenn is second. I love the tropical vibes from fortree city and the surrounding areas to Mt Chimney and the ash covered routes 😍.
I love gen 3. I started with yellow, so I usually appreciate gen 1 and 2 when looking back, but honestly I had so much fun in the gen 3 days, it was a nearly perfect pokemon experience. Gen 4 is when I feel pokemon just started feeling more soulless- i know most disagree, but I think they peaked in gen 3.
I think the "purple goo" is supposed to be puddles of water that dripped down from stalactites on the ceiling above. And the colour is just reflecting the room itself.
You know, if I were to live in Fortree city; waking up every morning to go for a run only to run into an invisible Kecleon every 11 minutes. Well, that would just be OK. At least I have internet and T.V. right?
To get serious for a second, I do kinda wish that the water routes had more effort put into them to make them more distinct from each other. I think it was possible for them to put in as many of the little details that you talked about for the land routes and towns, and I’m kind of at a loss as to why they didn’t.
I'm sure this is already common knowledge for a lot of people, but all of the Pokemon regions are based off real regions on earth. In Hoenn's case, it's based off of the Kyushuu region of Japan and also Okinawa.
Ugggggg....hate Gen 3 music, because it reminds me of being in high school, not being able to enjoy playing it because I had to go to school for like....half the damn day........
What's your favorite spot in Hoenn? ⬇️
Also route 113
Though I started with Omega Ruby, I still got absolutely enchanted by route 113's atmosphere and its music

Battle frontier for sure. No other Region has such a unique post game.
Lillycove or Sootopolis

I’d live in Pacificlog Town
Same here! The isolation and simplicity of it honestly makes it a more epic entrance to victory road than some of the other games
naw dude fortree city is best

It was my first game too! And hoenn easily has some of the best music it’s honestly underrated. Thank you so much for subscribing!
You know, I never realized the unique designs of the houses in each city/town, and I’ve replayed Emerald multiple times. Good catch!
I need to go back and rewatch old anime episodes, I haven’t seen them in so long. And you’re absolutely right
Any area with tons of creative environments is automatically fire in my books
If Hoenn just had a larger snow area it would be perfect
100% agree, the creativity is unmatched
hope someone makes a rom hack with hoenn map but expanded with a few more routes and hidden places

ok
6:28 I always figured that the purple “goo” was just puddles on ledges since it has a splashing animation.

Absolutely! I’m thinking sinnoh next, the series will probably just be in order of doing my favorite ones first lol

Pokemon Emerald should be played as a start. The first pokemon game I played also Other games didn't feel good after playing this game.

I’m thinking Sinnoh next the Johto after 👀
I think the "purple goo" is supposed to be puddles of water that dripped down from stalactites on the ceiling above.

had the most memories with this gen was perfect to me
also the soundtrack >
There’s nothing in this world that gives me quite as much nostalgia as gen 3 Pokémon
I love how you took inspiration from internet pitstop and nakejakey
Internet Pitstop was a huge inspiration! I love his style and thought it’d be cool to do an in depth look at the regions with a similar vibe of video
You know, if I were to live in Fortree city; waking up every morning to go for a run only to run into an invisible Kecleon every 11 minutes. Well, that would just be OK. At least I have internet and T.V. right?
I always felt the slateport music had a slight christmassy vibe to it in parts 🎄
I’ve never thought about it like that but honestly true!
Them bellzz
Love Lavaridge Town Pokémon Center
Everyone wish Fargus happy birthday for Thanksgiving! Awesome!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
Emerald my first Pokemon Game ❤️
Me too! Well really it was Ruby but same idea lol
Loved side quests
When you got old people guarding stuff you know it's serious😂😂😂
Man I wish they added actual diversity to the looks of the sea routes.
My guess is the purple goo is just the ledges turned humid by water dripping from inside the cave.
Ohhh that makes a lot of sense! Still weird it’s so purpley though
@FargusPhil that's just me guessing. Since the water probably accumulates on the surface of the ledges
Like those stalach thingies?
10/10 The correct amount of water
Actually 5/10 not enough water

I'm from Florida
Hoenn might be based off Kyushu but in my heart I feel it is Florida.
Thank goodness there’s no volcanos in Florida lol I’d have to change my vacation spot
Finally someone with good taste
Same to you!
I wish there was more Pokémon to catch when you use dive
If we don't get a Legends game set in the Hoenn region, I riot...ok maybe not, at best I'll be sad.
A legends game in Hoenn would be SOOO good
I have an iPhone. How do you download Pokémon emulators games??
One word, delta. Ur welcome.
Pacifidlog is such a waste, they should've had at least made a side quest including it.
I wish Fortree Town was better used in anime
Sinnoh is the Best for me but Hoenn is a close second

Nothing beats Sinnoh, bro. Nice try tho.
Sinnoh is definitely a close 2nd, video review on sinnoh next 👀
Nothing beats Johto, nice try though
Hoenn is S tier. 2nd and 4th gen are A tier
Sinnoh is overrated just like One Piece, both fanbases are similar annoying and have no taste
250th like
I must be the only Kalos region fan at this point🥲
Nah you’re not I love Kalos too! I’ll definitely make a video on it at some point
Kalos was great but TF was the main problem ig.
