fail to give way to 73 years pedestrian at the discretionary right turn junction

My 73 year old (now 74) grandaunt was crossing the road when a careless driver SLG4635M knocked her down. She was hospitalised and had to cancel multiple planned overseas trips and now has mobility issues and hospital fees of close to 170k with a 5 month hospitalisation, caretaker required as well as physiotherapy. Money aside her lifestyle has been affected and also she has a trauma when going across roads now.
TP has yet to followed up on what happened to the driver and when asked for updated is given a holding reply.

Nowadays many CB drivers on the roads... Can't even wait a few seconds... So impatient... Shouldn't have drive in the first place... Really knn...
Another thing is CB traffic law not strict then all become CB drivers

LTA, why not ban all dangerous drivers who caused accident from driving? our road will be safer for all.
Perhaps it would be better just to ban cars once and for all. Bicycles and PMDs are good enough for the majority of commutes. Those who are not fit enough can use public transport. There is no need for private cars in this day and age.
Then who will feed them self serving politicians without the expensive coe bids?

Can’t be driver still out there. It’s because of the case is still open, the driver of that car his/her driving license will be on hold. Meaning they can’t drive.
discretionary right turns (drt) are like double edged swords..u may avoid oncoming vehicles but not crossing pedestrians..newly bulit road junctions still hv there types of drt..lta just sweet promise to phase them out???

The VW driver only concentrates only green light for turning n not green light for pedestrians ,i still find signal for pedestrians need improvement n as the driver needs 12 demerit points n a fine n go corrective driving borne by him for every week for a month or two ,this would take a lot of time n money so that in future to cultivate the habit of watching for pedestrians during traffic

the only mistake that LTA made when creating discretionary right turn rule is that they are not assuming most drivers are impatient moron. How can they expect moron to stick to the rule? abolish discretionary right turn. is there a hash tag to it? #AbolishDRT
