1) Looking at the video, the time (one would assume that) this uncle honked at the police car was before or just as they passed the heavy vehicle. (There was a jump cut at that point so it was not clear and exact as to when it happened), and not to mention that the initial video in which shows why the altercation happened in the first place was muted from start to end.
- police car was signaling right to show intention of overtaking stationary heavy vehicle (moving slowly around industrial areas are very common as someone may just walk out in front of that heavy vehicle just to cross that stretch of road, you may never know when it may happen - experienced it a couple of times now after driving for a while)
- also take note that there was also a pedestrian walking at the right side of the heavy vehicle toward the police car (@0:01)
- uncle see police car also want to tail gate, no logic there, honking doesn't give you the right to say that a short beep of the horn is for "signaling" purposes (honking is just honking, albeit short or long, it differs from situation to situation). if police car going slow, there is always a reason and they do not have to stop and explain the reason for doing so.
2) After the stop, this uncle could have complied after hearing the reason from the Police Officer (no aggressiveness needed), and could have gone on his way to complete his "urgent" deliveries.. (2 mins stop became a 10+ mins stop) because he was trying to act all smart and above the law, using such a condescending tone, even nice people would feel offended.
- the way lorry uncle asked for the Police Officer's particulars, sounded a lot like those trending US tiktok videos of drivers trying to assert their amendment rights but this is SG not US. wrong place and wrong time to do something like that
- to add on, the video ended with you driving off by overtaking the police car and continued when you went to park at the lot before the upcoming T-junction at "Yishun Industrial Park A - INY22, Lot 164" (if you're parked in the lot, you're supposed to shut off your engine) - the police may not have stopped this uncle as a "traffic stop" but just a friendly stop-by to ensure/affirm the lorry uncle of the reasoning behind the slow movement as seen in the start of the video.
- the whole cause of the identification check was solely egged on by the uncle himself, speaking in such a manner, challenging the police officer in doing his duty (the police officer is not even obliged to stop by and explain his duties to the uncle and yet he did)
- no use trying to lodge a police report, no incidents happened, if this wasn't a traffic stop, the police can't do anything as well. but if this was indeed a traffic stop, failure to comply will result in different consequences (failure to provide identification, obstruction of police duties, ).
All in all, this almost 13 min video of this uncle making a fool out of himself is a great lesson for all, who learnt rubbish from US Tiktok driving/traffic stop videos which can't be applied over here in SG, this is because US has impersonation of official personnel issues. just use tiktok knowledge sparingly as "general knowledge", know and understand then see if you can apply, don't blindly follow
- end of rant, due to reading comments (especially from www.youtube.com/@spiderjump, who just wants to be right in his/her own way, commenting and replying to most of the comments who are against the uncle's actions) - i see the few likes he has on the comments supporting the uncle (1-3 likes), could be his family/friends? so butthurt for what? ok la, got thing to sound out, go ahead, but please be logical, dont just hog onto one/or just the few same reasons, road hogging/crime for honking at police car (no where states that that is a crime in the first place)

US: identification can only be done when a suspicion of crime is committed by the person they are trying to identify.
SG: Your IC is given to you free so that any government body can bloody hell identify you at any point of time upon request. That is why they have spot checks. Failure to do so, is arrestable.
For US tourist; their passport exist not for it to be left in the hotel. And they have to follow whatever law of the country they are in. So if US citizen come here and say no to SG police when asked to identify even though no crime was committed. They too can be arrested.
US: Depending on the states they are in, a man carrying arms in public is not a criminal and can still say no to being identified as there is no suspicion of crime until he becomes a criminal when he goes on a killing spree.

The annoying uncle obviously was toying with the Police officer who was merely carrying out his duties. Never once did the officer try to hide his identity. It was clearly reflected on his uniform. Why would this arrogant trouble maker need to know the service number which is considered sensitive. How dare he asked to take a photo of the officer’s official badge as he may share with others or use it to commit an offence in future? The fact that he kept asking for the service number was clearly an act of mischief.
It was a no-brainer. A Police officer has the right to request one’s identification when on duty. How could he challenge the officer to take a photo of his id in exchange to hand over his? He thought he knew what PDPA is. No, he doesn’t…he’s just a load of rubbish and a moron. The officer could have just charged him for obstruction of duty, not to mention the darn driver just drove off blatantly disrespecting the law! He ought to be CHARGED!!! Hope he did not get off lightly or our esteemed Police may face similar copycats, who would probably think that our Police Force is a joke 😡 They are here to protect us and ensure the safety of Singapore and we should be proud that, unlike many other countries, we do enjoy very safe environments here.

He even refused to get out of his vehicle when requested to do so. After watching the entire video, it is very obvious that the driver is trying his best to make the policeman lose his patience. And with the phone camera rolling, the driver knows that the policeman cannot affort to make any mistake, and hence he engages the policeman with his outstandingly rubbish words.....only to realise rhat this policeman is super patient and knows the driver is trying to make him lose his temper. In this video, I only see the police car slowly overtaking the trailer park at the side of the road, with people walking on the road beside the trailer. Normally, there is a lot of movement, as either vehicles or people can pop out at any time. How fast do you want people to drive in this area? If you want to show this officer driving so slowly, show it from the time you begin driving behind it, not when this officer is cautiously overtaking the trailer with people walking around.

It depends on how he uses the horn-friendly, angry, or aggressive-and whether there is any good reason for honking at the car in front. Just honking for no reason is a public nuisance. At most, a public nuisance is just a warning.
